A few pics of how I'm healing.
I had a couple of scabby spots which I placed butterfly closures over and my skin had an allergic reaction. It was itchy for a few hours, when I took the butterflies off at then end of the day it had blistered and torn my skin off. Those are the dark spots which are healing now. One scab has fallen off and I have another left to fall off.
I'm not putting any tape on because my skin kept reacting to any tape. It even started peeling with bio oil. Not sure if that's supposed to happen but I believe it's the fragrance in bio oil which had my skin reacting poorly. I then used a vitamin e ointment I had from GNC and again I had a bad reaction probably due to the fragrance ingredient. I'm now back to my preop skin rehydrator - organic coconut oil. I'm slathering/massaging my tummy, under boobies, and thighs at least twice a day. I'm paranoid of new stretch marks. While the PS says it can't happen, I know my skin is easily prone to them so I'll do anything I can do to help avoid new ones.
I purchased a CG from kohls (brief type) and what a joke trying to get that thing on. I returned it and got a long camisole CG. Works much better for me. Last night I slept in that versus my binder. So much nicer on my hips. During the day I'm using my binder.
I had a stitch poking through which yesterday I tugged at the tip which was poking thru and out it came. It must've dissolved at the point of exit because I tried tugging at it last week and my skin lifted with it so I knew it was in deeper and left it alone.

You look teeny tiny!!! And Flat (can't forget that) Hope you don't have to stand up at your job....Enjoy your weekend!
So glad you're doing good. Love your attitude and I believe that helps the healing process. You look FAB!!
Thx Dijon!
Girl, you look fabulous! Loved your blog :) I know you're excited!!!
Thx D!
Glad to know you're doing good... just an ignorant question... what's CG? :P
Compression garment
Not ignorant at all. There are some abbreviations I see and I'm like what??? Lol
Hahaha- Thanks!! :)
Sunsets I just seen your newer pics omg you look fabulous!! I'm so happy all went well, keep us posted. I was wondering if you are putting anything on you incision under binder still, I noticed you had two Lil strips of tape left. I'm cleaning with peroxide, massaging it with polysporin ointment and taping a very thin layer if gauss with gentle tape over it so I don't get irritated with the binder. I don't see my ps till Friday and nurse says I can or let it dry and put binder on it. I tend to think binder isn't sterile so I took up doing this when my strip fell off. What are you putting on it?
Thx :)
I have a foam the dr gave me which goes between my belly and the binder. I've been placing kleenex tissues against my skin before putting the foam against me. It's tacky and has been indian burning me. On Friday I put 2 butterfly bandages on those irritated spots, i also clean with peroxide, let it air dry and thats it. I have not used any ointment. I think these spots have closed. I'm waiting gor all my scabs to fall off before really starting biocorneum. I also cut an old undershirt of my little guys to fit along my hips so the binder won't irritate my skin. I was told after today I don't need to wear the binder 24/7 but I'll keep doing it and very slowly ween myself. I think it's helped keep me stabilized if that makes sense?
That foam sounds like a good idea I'm a look into that do you know if it has a brand on it that I can maybe order online? I'm also enjoying my rest time site of hard to stay put though when grandbaby 11months old is near me, or picking up after her when her Mommie just leaves me the mess in my front. My OCD kicks in and if it wasn't for my helpful 25 yr old son I'd a hurt myself already. I came upstairs a few hours ago to try out my bed used tons of pillows and think I'm going to enjoy it tonite after all. My family & tv keeps me up kinda later in front room and I want to be up & early for my 1st day back at work. You are so lucky you get to work from home :) well keep me posted sis on your upcoming ps appt. & progress.
It's called an epifoam. I googled it and found this site http://www.biodermis.com/scar-products/epifoam/
You can search for binder and foam on RS to get more info.
Yeah I seriously have like 4 pillows behind my back, 2 under my legs, then I hug another pillow and sometimes tuck one up against my back. Feels like a nest LOL
Thank you for the info I will order it, I actually went looking for some in a nearby medical supply store but they were out :( thank you for looking into it for me, well I'm finally in my bed with 3 pillows behind me one if them is an armed chair type of pillow & two are regular ones plus I got two pillows under my knees I'm actually comfy just hope I don't have to tinkle often tonite cuz it's a challenge stepping down off this high top mattress, my honey place a short step next to my bed and my treadmill bar will be helpful to pull my self up with. I knew this stand up treadmill next to my bed had a purpose besides hanging my favorite towel on it lol..
That's sounds good, even without operation... I was like that just been pregnant! LOL
Hahaa! I push up off my night stand. It's become easier and easier to get up. How'd it go last night?
