It's been a little over five weeks since my...

It's been a little over five weeks since my surgery and I'm doing great! Around 2 weeks post op I experienced a major setback. Apparently I had been too active too soon and for almost a week straight I was basically bed ridden. It was the worst pain I had experienced since my surgery...worse than the first few days. I didn't know what was wrong. My incision looked really swollen but most of all it was just a deep, stabbing pain all along the incision line. Especially on my hip bones. I had the nurse call in for more pain killers and antibiotics (just in case). I went in to my 2 week PO appointment expecting the worst. I thought maybe I had an infection or a seroma...but nope! I was just completely over doing it. After about five days, the pain started easing up. LESSON LEARNED!

I am still having a ton of swelling...especially around my hips, thighs and back. Basically everywhere that I had the lipo. I still can't believe how much I underestimated the side effects of the liposuction. Sometimes I swear I look about 4-5 months pregnant, the swelling gets that bad.

Something I'm concerned about.....I haven't lost any weight. I'm right around the same weight that I started out at. My boobs probably add, what, 2 lbs? I don't know. I can't help but feel like I'm gaining wait while being so inactive. My clothing fits differently. My normal pre-op pants fit now....loose in the tummy area, tight it the hip area. I know it's probably just the swelling.

I think I should just focus on what I SEE. And what I see is much flatter tummy and a huge improvement overall! The swelling will take some time but even with it, my body looks great. Very happy!

I have my six week post-op appointment this Tuesday and I'm excited to see what Dr. Mo has to say!
