Although I have always had a small waist, I have always carried a bulk of fat around my hips, thighs and lower abdomen. In the hopes of having a more attractive silhouette, I got liposuction by another surgeon on my hips, inner and outer thighs but the results were not as dramatic as I would have hoped. I then went to consult with Dr. S about what my options were. I explained to him what I was hoping to achieve - I wanted a flat stomach and I wanted my butt to look curvy and round. He explained to me that with a Brazilian Butt Lift, the fat would be taken out of the areas on my body with excess fat and then transfered to my butt.

On the day of my surgery, as Dr. S outlined the areas of my body where fat would be drawn. I received liposuction on my hips, outer thighs, knees, lower and mid back, my waist and my entire stomach. I remember him saying while he was drawing on me that that his goal was "to make me look as good as possible from every angle".....and he wasn't kidding!

I am now 4 weeks post-op and I can honestly say that this surgery has completely changed my silhouette for the better and I am extremely pleased with the results. It should be said however that this was not an easy surgery. I have undergone surgeries in the past (breast lift, breast augmentation and liposuction) and this was definitely the most painful.

If you are considering undergoing this type of surgery, plan to do it during a time where you will not have any major obligations for the first 1-2 weeks post op. Also bear in mind that you cannot sit, lay or put any pressure on your butt. I was in a lot of pain for the first week but I stopped taking pain medication after only 3 days. After that, the pain was bearable but I was still uncomfortable, swollen and relatively incapacitated for a little while. You must also wear a garment 24 hours a day for 4 weeks.

While this surgery definitely requires some planning and some sacrifice, it is well worth it if you are seriously looking for a change in your overall shape. I have no regrets and having this surgery was one of the best things I could have done for myself! My waist is tiny, my stomach is flat, my back is arched and my butt is big, round and smooth. Also, all of the incisions are virtually gone after only four weeks.

I would be happy to answer any questions regarding this procedure that anyone has and I highly recommend consulting with Dr. S to anyone who has been thinking about having this done!

Hi Jade -- Welcome to RealSelf and thanks for writing such a helpful review. This is great!

There's another community member, MsChangy, who's just had surgery. I'm sure she'd appreciate hearing from you, since you're further along in the recovery process. :)

Hi jade, do you have a before and after pic that you can share? Also, if you can't sit on your butt how did you manage? Were you able to drive or did you just stay home for a couple of weeks? I recently had a TT and was thinking of doing the BBL but when I was told I couldn't sit I quickly changed my mind.

It's definitely a big sacrifice to make. They show you a technique where you are able to "sit"....just not on your butt. You have to use rolled up towels and put one under your legs and one behind your back. This way, you are "sitting" but your butt isn't really touching the seat. That's how I drive lol! I must admit it's very difficult and I can't go for very long in that position but let's just say I have been keeping the driving to a minimum since my surgery. I am going on my 5th week of not sitting and as annoying as it's been, it IS doable. You just really need to plan for it. I am a student and I emailed my teachers telling them that I had a surgery and that I had to kneel during class....so that's exactly what I do. I kneel on the chair. I imagine that it would be more challenging if I worked full time. Like I said, it IS a sacrifice but if you plan for it then you can make it happen. I mostly lay on my stomach and when that gets too uncomfortable, I stand. You have to weigh out how much you really want it and the difference it will make in your shape VS. the sacrifices you will have to make while recovering for 5 weeks.....

i don't have my 'official' before and after pics yet but i will next week....i would be glad to share them with you once i get them!

hi jade! yes i wanted to know do you have any pics as well!!! we wanna see your fab results :) im looking into getting mine done as well...so you haven't sat for like 5 weeks? i heard you couldn't sit for 4 weeks though...
Jade2153 30 Jan 2011
it's 4-6 weeks of no sitting.....when I went to see my doctor a few days ago, he told me to hold off on sitting for just one more week. yes, it will have been 5 long weeks! argh! i am gritting my teeth but it really was well worth it. I feel great!

As for having a lot of body fat, I may photograph well but that is me before lol. I did have a significant amount of body fat on my stomach, hips and back.... enough to have 1000 ccs put into each cheek! Which is great! I am thinking of uploading pics soon or perhaps I can just send them to you privately....
3tweety1 30 Jan 2011
hi jade! i sent you a msg with my email :)
3tweety1 29 Jan 2011
also, how many cc's did you get in each cheek? did you have alot of body fat? because if this is your profile pic you look good girl! it doesn't look like you had any fat...
3tweety1 30 Jan 2011
how are you able to use the bathroom if you have to move your bowels though? im tryna figure this one out...
Jade2153 7 Feb 2011
as for using the bathroom....it's tough! you just gotta squat over the toilet or use your hands to hold yourself up. that was one of the more annoying parts but it's doable.

now that i am able to sit again, i am most happy to be able to sit on the toilet lol!
3tweety1 21 Feb 2011
hahahaha i can only imagine!!! im excited i cant wait!!! LOL

Hi Jade, how have you been...curious to know how many cc's you had in each cheek?
3tweety1 5 Feb 2011
hi she said she received 1000ccs in each cheek
Jade2153 7 Feb 2011
yes i did in fact have 1000 ccs in each cheek. since i had liposuction done before this surgery, that was pretty much all the fat that was left.....all of the fat that was suctioned for the BBL was used. i wish i never had the lipo done before so i could have put even more but still i am extremely pleased with my results!
SSN (RealFriend) 5 Feb 2011
ok...wow...thanks
3tweety1 5 Feb 2011
not a problem...
SSN (RealFriend) 7 Feb 2011
wow...that is nice...how much of a projection would you say you have now?...for eg...is your butt 1 or 2 inches out/bigger now?...unfortunately the same with me...i had a little lipo done about 4 years ago...(didnt know anything about bbl) and had i known, i would have just had the bbl done....and the PS is saying the most he can get is 700 cc's...which doesnt sound like much...esp with reabsorbtion...?
3tweety1 7 Feb 2011
hi ssn...i guess it all depends on your goal but i hear what you're saying though...but there have been people who've had a bout 500ccs in each cheek and had a wonderful outcome. also it depends on the skill of the surgeon too. it all depends on your body proportion...who are you going too and where is he located? how is his work?
SSN (RealFriend) 7 Feb 2011
I am goint to Dr. Tachmes in Miami Beach...his photos on his website isnt exactly mind-blowing...but i he is willing to try to get as much as he safely can....he is the expert...i personally do not know of anyone who's done this...(not like any of us are really gonna tell)..lol...i'm not...!..lol...but i am trusting his experience and location as my brother lives close by and will help me as I have to fly in for the procedure...so....but i just want significant results...but i wont know until after...i cant seem to stop thinking about it...kind of want to get it over and done with...
3tweety1 7 Feb 2011
oh ok i had checked his site out and i wasn't impressed at all!!! girl why dont you just go to dr. soto if you're coming to florida anyway? you can always drive to miami and recoup there!!! i mean dr. soto is very nice and i felt very welcomed and comfy from my first visit :) i would definitely give dr. soto a try though, i mean why not? go for a consult and see what he says SSN..it can't hurt! and YES girl this is on the LOW i won't tell if you wont tell!!! LOL good luck with whatever you decide but me personally, i wouldn't even give that dr. a 2nd thought at all...that's just my opinion though honestly...
SSN (RealFriend) 8 Feb 2011
you know...i dont know why...but he is experienced, price is kind of a steel...and location is closer for my family....and I already paid!!!...I have faith in him!!! (he better!!)...lol...lol...but i am not being shy about what i want ...so he is already prepared..lol
3tweety1 15 Feb 2011
really? have you actually met with him though? because i don't care how much experience he has the pics don't lie! lol...oh my goodness the ladies look like they had nothing done what so ever! not too mention all the stomachs that are still hanging out....uh uh
SSN (RealFriend) 15 Feb 2011
well you cant go by pics on a website either...i think that is very misleading...plus...at least Dr. T's photos are real patients who were willing to be broadcasted...and some of the pics are old...but experience is very important...at least to me anyways...but he is good from what i have been told...lol....I certainly wouldnt select a PS based on his photos...so sometimes we all have to do our research and then narrow our findings down to things we feel individually are important to us...pro's and con's...but i have faith in his work!!!!...lol...
SSN (RealFriend) 15 Feb 2011
3tweety...keep in mind also that most PS's may not show anyone realistic photos of women who may not have had successful jobs done...and by that I simply mean that every job can pose its own set of challenges...some patients may simply not have enough muscle to support the transfer...but i think its refreshing to be realistic...at least thats my bottom line...no PUN intended...lol...good luck with your procedure...I will be off to Miami Beach this weekend for mine...yeah baby!!!!
3tweety1 20 Feb 2011
i hear what you're saying but what else are you really gonna base your decision off of though? lol...there has to be something there that will make you wana inquire about the doctor...i know for me i wana see proof and you can tell when something is photoshopped...the PS should put up successful photos and take down the ones that doesn't compliment his work though...and you can't go by what you hear all the time either...its just so many variables when picking a provider...good luck with everything though and i wish you well girlie :)
