“Smart Lipo Scheduled for 12/28/11”
Spent: $5,000 in Oregon
So my procedure is about a month away and I'm pretty excited :-) I started out a little unsure and anxious, but I met with my Dr. a few days ago to talk about the procedure and my expectations. He was very nice and professional, so now I'm at ease about the whole thing. I am scheduled to do my upper and lower abs and he said he would throw in the bra roll too. I thought that was nice, and am excited to see the results. He said most people do upper and lower abs along with the back and hips, but ultimately it was up to me. After talking it over with my fiancée I have just decided to do my abs and see how I feel in 6 months or so. Hopefully I'm making the right decision not to add the other areas- my gut feeling is that I am :-) but we will see.
I really enjoy reading other women's blogs on this site, and I will add pics before the day of surgery.

So I've changed my mind and am going to do my upper and lower abs and waist- I'm excited :-) I have 5 days off of work after my procedure.. I'm hoping that's long enough!!

5 more days to go and I'm getting anxious! In a good way, though :-) I'm trying to decide what kinds of foods to buy to eat in the days following the surgery bc the Dr said to stay away from salt to help the swelling.. idk guess I will figure it out soon enough. Well, here we go.. the countdown begins!!!

Well it has been 5 hours since the surgery and I feel fine :-) . It definitely feels likemy muscles are swollen and the incision spots are sore, but nothing a pain pill can't fix.. i'm not sure I can have advil yet- I will have to read up on that.
The surgery itself wasn't bad. There were parts that were uncomfortable for sure, but over all not too bad. I forget how many cc's he said were removed, but he said it was equivilent to 11 pounds. Still really swollen, but that is to be expected.

Today is day 3 and I feel MUCH better! Trying to shower and cover the incision spots yesterday was torture and after walking around Costco I felt I overdid myself. But thankfully today I seem to be done draining and can even getout of bed by myself- a huge accomplishment :-) My muscles are definitely sore but I feel as close to normal as I have since before the surgery. I am excited to see my results over the next few months. I definitely look and feel thinner- when my arms are at my sides they don't touch my sides like they used to. I have new curves :-) the skin, though, looks like I have been hit by a truck! But I am going to start applying the arnica cream now that my incisions are closing up. Will post before and after pics as I am more up and around.

Everyone at the office was great- from the financing staff (even answered an e-mail on christmas!) to nurses and of course the Dr. He provides his cell phone number and even called about 4 hours after I got home to see if I had questions and if everything was going well. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. To soon to see my results but I'm 100% satisfied thus far :-)

Thanks for the response and happy healing :-)
As far as the surgery itself went, it was not that bad. The part that hurt the most was near the belly button. My Doc had warned me about that before the procedure. However, it felt like little "stings" every so often and was very manageable overall. The flanks were seriously....a piece of cake. Did not hurt one bit. My Doc did stomach first and I would ask for that, as it was the most uncomfortable and everything after was so easy. I did take the pain pills prescribed for two days post op and would recommend that, as it (I believe), made the recovery pretty smooth. Good luck! Let me know how it goes and if you have any further questions, feel free to contact me! This was my first ever procedure, so I was pretty nervous. I am very happy I did it!
