I am in the process of choosing my surgeon to get a nose job on the week of May 22... I am 23 years old and have always hated my big Italian/polish nose and as soon as I graduate college in May it's gone. I live in the Orange County region and would love if the surgeon I choose can be in this area as well...so far I have only visited 1 surgeon.
He is very friendly and I liked the picture that would be my post- surgery although as soon as I got home and showed everybody I know, they all said they can hardly tell there is a change and i'm wasting my money (although it is also fixing my deviated septum that I had no clue I had until the surgeon told me). ...so anyways... my boyfriend thinks I should either go to a different surgeon, or I should have a re-consultation with this doctor and ask if I can get the tip more refined, and pointed kind of like Meagan Fox's nose job, what do you guys think? I need help!! Thanks!!

I went to Russian surgeon in Glendale who specializes in nose procedures just to see what he said. He said I definitely have a deviated septum that needs to be fixed, and he will do an "almond" shaped point to my nose. I asked if he could do digital imaging so i could show my friends and family because I had to go to the appointment alone, and he said his digital imaging seldom ever looks like what the actual results are and that it's "day and night" so he might as well not do it. He did try and show me anyways, but since the tool he used was "Liquify" he said it's impossible to show me what I would actually look like, and instead showed me a bunch of other people's before and after pictures. He was really good, thats for sure, he even used a breathing device tool on me to have my inhale as hard as I can and show me that my breathing is bad. The appointment went very quickly but the only thing i really liked that he showed me was if I cut my nose too short, my bottom jaw actually protrudes a bit and makes my face look like a bull dog!! I couldn't believe how weird it made me look until he actually showed me that, so i guess i'll drop wondering if i want a shorter nose haha. Anyways...even though the dr seemed really talented, he dropped his price from $7,500 to $6,200 because i was recommended by his friend and i am a student, which is still more than the $5,000 i'm spending with the newport dr. So i'm going to just go with the Newport dr and hope for the best, who i also think will do an excellent job, and they were able to drop maybe $1,500 with my insurance because it's dealing with my deviated septum so for this price i'm very happy! My next appointment for blood work and meds is May 4th and my operation is scheduled for May 22 so I will post updates later. ! :)
I'm sorry I totally forgot to update this thing!...
I'm sorry I totally forgot to update this thing! My procedure took place May 22 in Newport Beach. It went around 630 AM and I was and I was out by 1030. The first day wasn't bad I took one Vicodin maybe two but I didn't really need it. The Valium help because I just couldn't breathe through my nose so it helped me sleep better. My nose dripped a lot so I had to keep my head back also I was told not to bend over to pick things up so I just slept all day. By second day the pain was almost completely gone Just an inconvenience when I tried to breathe in my nose because I had a cast on my nose and packing . The packing was the worst thing it was impossible to breath through my nostrils so day two or three he pulled out all the packing and I could finally start breathing . The rest of the week I just lay low wasn't allowed to exercise anything my mom took care of me but I was just being a baby I could've done things ...it took about eight days until he took my cast off and I was good to go ..no pain taking the castoff and I still go to follow-up appointments every couple of weeks to this day.
Results: my tip has only gone down a bit and it's hard to see pictures that I can see a big difference myself the main obvious difference is my profile which I absolutely love in comparison to before .
Writing this review I am three months post opp so I will post a picture.

I'm considering rhinoplasty as well. I'm also 23 and I was wondering if you could give more info on this surgeon in glendale you wrote about? I'm researching doctors now and I have no idea how people find trustworthy ones. Thanks!
If you are willing to drive to Enciino. Dr Walter Dishell is a great Dr. he is not just a plastic surgeon he is ENT. He only deals with noses & eyes. A few of my friends had their noses done by him and they look great! I am having mine done with him in November.
http://www.asaeonline.com. Technicaly Oc is not that far from Encino :)
He is between $7500 to $9000.00. Depends on the procedure. This is the price for everything including anesthesia, surgery facility. And he bills insurance. he is Anthem Blue Cross provider. Mine is $8000.00
I am waiting till November because I want to incorporate thanksgiving holiday into my time off from work.
Oh girl, people will say that even after your nose job. But they're just not realizing that subtle changes can make big differences. Especially in the way you see your own nose.
Here's my two cents: go with a rhinoplasty SPECIALIST. This is the most intricate procedure and you don't want to have anyone other than a specialist do it. See two more surgeons for consultations and then make up your mind.
Here's a list of doctors in OC who do rhinoplasties, but remember, make sure they specialize in it by asking them and reading reviews.
Btw, the Top badge means that they've been very active on RealSelf, so you should be able to find a lot of info on them here.
Hope this helps!
