Reviews you can trust, from real people like you.
How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.
  • Doctors can't pay to have reviews removed or hidden.
  • Reviews are only removed at the reviewer's request or if they violate our Terms of Service.

If you have questions or believe we should re-evaluate a published review, let us know.

TIPS/ITEMS TO BUY BEFORE: TWO 6in WIDE SOFT...

TIPS/ITEMS TO BUY BEFORE:
TWO 6in WIDE SOFT BANDAGE WRAPS( I use these to wrap around the incision line and then my abdominal binder ...it acts as a barrier so my binder does not rub again to my incision line.... get 2 so you can have one clean one while the other one washes.... trust me it will need washing the incision line seeps and will have bloody spots)
SANITARY PADS( attach these along the bandage wraps during the first week so that the stitches will not poke thru and get tangled in the bandage wrap... they also create a comfy cushioning)
NEOSPORIN & BANDAIDS (you may have spots along your incision line that continually reopen...in this case dab on a little neosporin and a band aid.... just make sure the adhesive part of the band aid is not on the incision line or it will hurt really bad when you pull it off)
ANTIBACTERIAL SOAP( you will not feel like showering and probably should not shower and tell your doctor told you so.... when you do begin to shower limited it go once a dag and try to be quick... the less moisture you put in your belly button and along your incision line the faster it will dry up and heal... the antibacterial soap is just an extra safety precaution)
STRAWS( your body needs lots of liquid to heal itself and to flush out the anathesia after surgery....you are more likely to drink large volumes if you have a straw)
MEAL REPLACEMENT DRINKS( you're not going to feel like eating anything for the first 10 to 14 days.... but your body needs nutrition to heal itself... drinking four or five of these meal replacement shakes a day is a good way to do that)
EXTENSION CORDS( you're probably thinking "what the heck" right about now lol... use the extension cords to run power directly to your bed.... have your cell phone charger, laptop, reading light, and anything else you think you'll need beside you on your bed where you can reach it without having to stretch)
AIRFRESHNER( has stated earlier you're not going to be able to shower for a while.... you might want to put an air freshener in your room in case you get visitors lol)
BABYWIPES&DRY SHAMPOO( baby wipes for a great way to freshen your armpits and other areas up when you're not able to bathe... the dry shampoo usually contains fragrance in it so it will make your hair smell better as well as look better)
PAPER CUPS&BOTTLED WATER( this is so you can brush your teeth without having to get out of bed)

TWIN SIZE MEMORY FOAM MATRESS( okay this might seem a little excessive to some... But if you fold the mattress in half and then lean it against the back of your bed it will create an incline bed almost like a hospital bed... you are going to sleep at an upward incline for weeks and weeks)

PERMAMANT MARKER( this is probably one of the most important apps I can give you...FILL AND LABEL ALL YOUR PRESCRIPTIONS BEFORE SURGERY... I know prescriptions already come labeled, but trust me when you're drugged up its hard to read those labels.... write the name of each drug boldly and clearly on each container... don't forget your regular prescriptions at you take.... when your mind is foggy you don't want to make a mistake on any of your meds)

NOTEPAD & PEN( you want to write down and keep a log off when you take each drug... you don't want to risk taking more than is required of the narcotics..... but you also don't want to allow yourself to reach a high level of pain before taking anything... keeping a log of what you take and when you take it will help keep things organized)

OKAY THANKS FOR READING ALL OF THAT!If I think of any other tips or supplies that are needed I will update this review and let you know:)

Being a single mother I was reluctant to spend a large amount of mone ony something most people would deem "unnecessary".
I am very glad I did and do not regret my choice. I have never felt better about my body and more importantly my self esteem.
Tips I can give you if you were thinking about the procedure are: make sure you own lots of pillows( you're going to need them lol), follow your doctor's instructions absolutely, start changing your diet immediately to be very nutritiously rich(This will help your body heal faster and with a better result), and lastly be patient with yourself! The healing process takes a long time....I am almost a month out and STILL very sore and swollen.
