Hi all, I scheduled my tt and lipo today. It's happening December 27th 2012!! It seems so far away but I had to wait until I had the time off of work. Anywho, I'm 35 years old I've had 7 pregnancies including a set of twins, so you can imagine what my stomach looks like! I'm 5'8" and 163lbs. I've wanted to do this for years but have always talked myself out of it because I didn't want to spend so much money on myself. Im always doing things for other people. I never buy myself anything so I'm getting this one thing! I'm so friggin excited!!!!!

This forum is amazing! I'm scheduled for Monday, 9/24; but may have to postpone mine until 12/20 - to work with my work schedule. I've paid my deposit and I'm excited - I just need my date!! My justification on the money is - I desire it!! I want my confidence back. I'm so self-conscious about my appearance and it's 100% because of my tummy.

I look at it as a one time expense for a life time of self confidence :)
you really do sound very excited,lol...I felt the same way when I booked my appt. which is Novemeber 5, and now I have a mixture of feelings. Sometimes I am scared, then excited, then guilty for spending so much money on myself. When I read the comments on here, and see the results, it makes me confident I am doing the right thing. I am 52 years old, and TT, here I come.

I'm a very impatient person so this waiting is hard but at least I have something really great to look forward to. I hope all will be well by summer so I can wear my first bikini since I was 20 years old! Oh quick question, how do I post pics on here? Can I do it from my iPhone or do I have to do it from our computer? TIA:)

Oh awesome...a recovery buddy! I'm probably going to need one lol. My husband is the most unsympathetic person when I'm sick so I can imagine that tt recovery won't be much better. Lol. I cannot wait for this to happen. Ever since I scheduled and paid my fee, it's all I can think about. Im so excited and a little bit nervous. I watched a tt surgery on YouTube. I sooooooo wish I didn't! Oh well, even that won't detour me!

We can recover together!! I am counting down the days until 12/20/12 and I have a similar story. I had two children by age 24 and I have not had my figure since. My tummy is so fat and I never show it. I don't even remember wearing a bikini and I was a size 0-2 before my kids!! I go through my moments, worries, and doubts, but I know this is the RIGHT decision for me. I'm praying my recovery and healing will be a smooth process! I'm so anxious to live life on the flat side!

My stretch marks go about 3 inches above my bb. I was just hoping they would be at least below my bb after surgery and hopefully won't look any wider afterwards. Regardless, it will be a marked improvement but I sure would like to not have to deal with too many strechmarks after spending so much $$!

I considered saying I was due in January, saving us both the embarrassment but instead I told her it was a food baby hoping it would just be laughed off but instead she put her hands on her face and said "I'm soooo embarrassed" which only made me feel worse. I cannot wait for my tt so I NEVER EVER will be asked that question again. Ugh:(

I'm not worried about the surgery itself, I've had a few of and have always woken up (obviously lol) but I'm scared to death of going home directly after a major surgery. Oh well lol, I'm still doing it!

You'll have to keep me posted about your TT and Lipo! I just had a BR done by Dr. David Thao. His results are amazing, although I was hoping to be about a small D and now I think I am a size C, but its not an exact science with breast surgery. Felt very rushed through my appt.s but know that he is a top surgeon in his field. Hoping to have TT in the future so any advice or just following your posts is a great help! Good luck to you! You are in good hands! Rest up afterwards and take care!

Hello Ashique4, SValentine & Jessesgirl1977, I too am scheuduled for Dec 20. I would LOVE to be able to join you ladies as recovery buddies and even ears to chat on as I am VERY much obsessed with this topic and spend most of my free time reading on this site, researching and my mind is on nothing but this and making sure I can get what my mind wants to see. So happy to see December dates. :-)

I was originally scheduled for dec but had to reschedule for February 6. I can't believe I did it! It was tons of money but I'm happy that part of it is over and it now feels real. I never thought I'd be able to do this and now after years of being unhappy with my body I'm finally going to feel good naked!!!

Good luck Jess's Girl! Your time will be here before you know it. Good luck.....may you have a comfortable and speedy recovery! :)

I HAVE!!! I call it smelly belly. How gross is that? I've also worn two girdles at the same time. One that fits me and one that's a size too small on top of that. I could barely bend to sit in the car so I had to recline the seat just to make it where we were going. My husbands wouldn't stop laughing. What lengths have you gone to to hide "the beast"?

I have too! OMG! I know this is TMI but I'm glad that my pits and my belly have the same scent. Lol. It could be worse ; /

Oh yes it definitely could be worse! I cannot wait to not have to worry about that and I reeeeeeally cannot wait to be naked in front of my husband without worrying about my monstrosity of a stomach. That's going to be the best part.
I have!! I do it just to make sure that I dont get it. I try to do it in private, but hubby caught me one day...he just shook his head.

Between filling impossible prescriptions(new drug no one carries) and getting my supplies and home ready I'm feeling worn down already! On top of it, I'm pretty sure the receptiionist at my ps office hates me. She's so rude to me that I dread having to call for anything. Maybe I'm just being overly sensitive but when you give someone that much money you expect them to be nice to you. Arrrrrrgh!!!

I keep thinking...what if I die?
What if I'm disappointed?
What if I get an infection?
Is the pain going to be so bad that I will regret it?
Was I selfish for spending so much money on myself?
Arrrrgh. I really hope they give me something to relax me before they put me under otherwise I will be panicking when the mask goes on( it makes me feel like I'm suffocating) last time I had surgery they gave me something and I fell asleep before I even went into the operating room. It was so nice. I had an emergency c section before that and it scared the heck out of me being alert when they put me under. I wish the big day would hurry up and get here because I'm a thinker and I don't want to think about it lol.

I feel the same way. I keep thinking: what if it doesn't turn out right? I'm soo nervous. When I chose my dx I was so confident in his work, now I wanna back out. I don't know what happened. I go to my pre op on the 6th, so I'm hoping he'll ease my fears cuz if he doesn't I'm out A LOT of money.
  • Reply
I had exactly the same worries! I am very thankful for the nurse that talked to crazy me a few times before the procedure explaining why my risks for complications were low. I was given a calming drug before surgery as well, so I had no panic when I actually went under. I'm 5 months PO and this has been one of the best things that has ever happened to me. It isn't selfish at all!
  • Reply
Honey you will be fine. They should give you medicine to calm your nerves they did me. And you are so worth this and the chance of dying is really low. Take a deep breath and just go with it. We are here for you. The pain is not that bad it is very manageable with pain pills.

I can't believe it's already almost here. I've wanted to get this done since 2005 after my sweet little(belly wrecking) twin boys were born. Finally I will be able to wear a bikini(I hope so anyway) and have day time sex for the first time in 8 years.....yessssssss!!! The little man won't know what to do with himself! Now when he pops his head in the shower to ask me something I can just answer instead of turning around screaming "don't look at me!" hehe

OMG! That's me in the shower... DON'T LOOK!! Lol!! Can't wait to be rid of those issues when we get rid of our bellies!! :-) I also had twins, girls, 16 years ago. They totaled over 13 pounds!! I so can't wait for this!! Good luck on your surgery, I can't wait to see your results :-)

I know my husband doesn't get why I don't like to be gawked at lol but that's because I don't let him see the belly. I see your surgery is on the 12th so your following right behind me! Twin bellies go away!!! Right after mine were born I was shocked at my stomach and not to mention depressed. Im going to see if the hospital will take a pic before they put the binder on so I can see it before it swells. I hate the thought of seeing it for the first time after a few days of swelling. If they will I will post it ASAP!
Good luck! Keep us posted on how you're doing.

Well now that the initial post surgery barfing is done I don't feel completely horrible. I'm tired and sore aka very sore abs and a stingy burny feeling around the incision. My ps called to check on me and gave me great news. He said that I had really stretchy skin and was able to remove skin from 3 inches above my belly button! I had a lot of high stretch marks
And he said he got the majority of them....yessssss!! The lipo came out to 550cc and skin
Was 970 grams so a little more that two pounds. I would have thought there was more looking a my pre op belly.he said I could take my binder off tonight long enough to but a shirt on underneath so I will snap a pic for sure. Ok see ya all later!!

1) sleeping In a recliner. It's a little rough on the already sore back
2) walking hunched over. I'm really tight so therefore really hunched. Back is pretty sore.
3)poor sleep. Waking at strange hours and not bring able to fall back to sleep.
4) the binder. I personally find it pretty uncomfortable and felt better taking it off last night to put a tank top underneath. Some people say the get dizzy taking it off, I didn't . It felt. Ice to be free for a minute.
Other than these few things I really don't have any complaints. The pay is not horrible. It's funny because before I had the surgery I pictured incisional pain but really thats not where you feel it. It's more of a muscle soreness in the upper abs area and also a little bit sore on my flanks where the lipo was done. I got a sneak peek last night even though when I took my binder off I had a very padded price of guaze completely covering from my belly b down but from what I saw I was amazed at how much narrower my waste was. I also could pull the guaze away enough to look at my bb and I have to say I'm happy with that. It looked like all if the stickers were on the inside instead of the outside soon bb scar. Anyway I took a couple of pics that don't show much but I will try and get then up anyway.

Hey girl you are looking good!! So glad you made it to the other side. I feel your pain.....literally! I agree...it's not even incisional pain like I thought either. I feel mine all in my abs and back from the lipo. Ouch!! Why do you need another tummy tuck after you heal from this one? Was that the meds talking? :)

Lol no it was a continuation from my opening statement about my husband preparing all the meals lol. He eats horrible. I was jk. I'm starting to feel a little better today. I have this one trouble spot on the left side of my pubic area. It feels like a burning sensation when I stand up. The sore abs are a lot better today that yesterday. I didn't take my pain killers(not being a martyr) today just ibuprofen and it wasn't too bad. Anyway I hope you are doing well.

i'm trying to add lots of pics because i know that before i had this done i lived for looking at everybodys after pics on here. i have a little pooch when sitting but im swollen as can be so i think it will go away. even if it doesnt it is perfect compared to be before belly. my sides are definetly swollen where i had the lipo. it doesnt show in pics as much as real life but its def swollen there. my belly button will heal to look pretty good i think but for now it looks like a cats butthole lol i said that to DH and he looked at me like i was weird( very dry sense of humor) and asked me why i knew what a cats butthole looks like? i just said IDK.

I have brusing above my incision and I've been scaring myself reading about necrosis. Mine is just purplish bruising and had I not read all that stuff I wouldn't even think anything of it. Thanks in advance.

The lipo causes crazy bruising. Are you taking Arnica or using Arnica gel? I never heard of it before my tt. I swear it has made a HUGE difference for me. I started taking Arnica on PO Day 1 as well as using Arnica gel twice daily. I am shocked at how quickly my bruises are healing.

Woke up today having some muscle spasms I'm my abs. Not real painful just odd feeling. I've also been having one trouble spot for a couple days on one side of my incision that burns when I stand. My only other complaint is this cg. It's kind of like a wrap type with Velcro. It sucks. I hate it. It won't stay where you put it and it's really uncomfortable. I'm going to wash it today. I can't wait to be rid of it for a little while

I've been having the same troubles as you; my binder slides up every time I sit so when I stand it's too high and uncomfortable. I'm always adjusting it. And the left side of my incision - if I have been laying down a long time or try to get up at a funny angle - stings like it is splitting. I have thought I felt blood trickle from there a few times but there's no fresh blood on the tapes (thankfully). My doc has said this stuff is normal. And muscle spasms - I kept feeling on days 2 and 3 like my muscles were tensing up defensively and I had to think about it to unflex them. Like they were recoiling expecting pain - well hey, the pain's already there, stoppit! The binder is a pain, it's definitely nice to have it off for a little while. I hope your bruising resolves soon. I've seen a lot of bruising on here that never becomes anything serious, but I know where you're coming from with the worries. I feel so hyperalert about everything going on there now. I hope the next few days are easier for you!

Today is pretty good. I took my binder off and washed it so I was free for a little bit. Bruising is turning yellow now so getting better. I keep thinking about trying on some cute undies and my bikini but then I don't want to deal with the drains and all of that fun stuff plus my love handles are swollen lol and I don't really want to look at them. Hope your day is going well and you are feeling pretty good.

I really wish they would take these drains out! They suck I hate them! They snag constantly. I dread peeing because of them. One drain has nothing in it but the other is about 10-15 every 4 hours. Idk where they like it to be before they remove them. I'm glad I will get to question my love handles today also. I feel like I got less lipo then I shoulda but maybe I'm just swollen on my sides. Ugh.

I know I have to look a thousand times better but with the swelling I feel fat. My stomach is flat but my sides look fat. I've lost 8 lbs since surgery but I can't tell a difference. Blah.

The drains are the worse. Use surgical tape and find a comfortable position for the drains and then tape them down so they dont pull when you move. Then clip them to your bra. Wish you speedy heeling.
  • Reply
Thanks. I never though to clip them to my bra. I have been clipping them to the cg and tucking them under my tank top. It looks like I have two very large tumors, not to mention one fell out while I was at target. That was embarrassing lol!
I can so relate to your heading! LOL I am still waiting for my dent to go away. It looks and feels weird. I know you've heard this before but you look great and the swelling will definitely go away with time! It's hard when you see yourself every day and then go through the trauma of surgery only to have to wait longer. Hang in there!

i got one drain out today. it was not painful i didnt even feel anything when it came out. the only uncomfortable part was when he clipped the stitch holding the drain in place. the skin at the drain site was red and irritaded so thats why it kinda hurt. im still pretty swollen and a bit lop sided. im not going to worry about that yet since its still pretty early. here are two new pics from this morning before the drain came out.

I think I might actually be 5 weeks dpo but time has been eluding me since TT lol. I've been back to work for a couple of weeks now. The first week was hard but I'm getting back into the swing of things. I've been trying to eat healthy and have lost a couple of pounds. I'm hoping to lose 10 or 15 more before summer but we'll see lol. My swelling is a lot less than it was I mostly swell on the incision so it feels hard and lumpy at times. The areas where feeling is returning almost feels sunburnt when I touch my skin. I am very numb in the triangle pattern everyone talks about. I could stab myself there and wouldn't feel a thing. It's like touching someone else's body. My energy levels are back to normal for the most part. I still have sore abs like you would get after crunches... Nothing horrible. I occasionally get weird zings of pain in my abdominal area. I'm guessing they are nerve discharges because the nerves are growing back...once again nothing horrible. Well I hope everyone else is doing well and good luck to the pre tummy tuckers:)
