Finally Going To Be On The Flat Side!!! - New York

UPDATED FROM Cat in New York

Hello ladies! I haven't been on for a while, but...

$9,000
Hello ladies! I haven't been on for a while, but since yesterday made exactly one year since I had my Tummy Tuck, I figured I'd update my review. It's been a year since I had my surgery as I already mentioned and I'm not happy with my results @ all!!! My stomach isn't flat @ all and because of it, I still have to walk around with my stomach sucked in. My PS says it's because I have weak muscle tone and that I have to do ab workouts in order for me to have the flat tummy I've dreamed about for the past 10 yrs. Who wants to do ab workouts for a flat tummy after having had a TT? The whole point of having a TT is to have a flat stomach! If u have to exercise to get one, then what was the point?! Anyway, it's very disappointing and depressing not to have what you thought you would especially when you spend and sacrifice a lot to try to make your dreams a reality. I hope everyone else who had their surgeries around the time I did are satisfied with their results and whoever is planning on having anything done, make sure you do a lot of research before you choose a PS.

I completely agree with you! The whole purpose of going through this pain and discomfort not to mention spending this kind of money was to not have to suck your stomach in for pictures and not to have to do crunches or sit ups. We're on the same sinking boat.
And, I didn't even mention how one side of my waist is bigger than the other because of the Lipo which he claims it's like that because of loose skin. I didn't realize I had more skin on one side of my waist than the other. Very depressing!
Hello, I'm sorry to hear that, I thought ur stomach looked nice when you first did it, I cant believe you are not satisfied, are you going to post pics? the DR. shoul be able to do a revision at no cost cause $9,000 that you paid is alot of money that [RS bleep] does not grow on trees, I would ask for a revision or really good discount, smh 10x
Hi jessie13 I didn't ask for a revision because I know he's gonna use the poor muscle tone excuse and, I don't know if I'm ready to go through all of that again. Maybe in a couple of yrs.
Well Cat, I am sorry to hear that. We are in the same boat. My stomach looked a lot like yours before surgery and I never did end up flat. An improvement sure, but now instead of looking 6 months pregnant, I look 2 months pregnant. I was told the same thing, poor muscle strength, tone, whatever. My PS says no amount of stomach exercises will fix it because it is the fascia that is weak, the very reason we had a TT and she says exercise will not fix it. :( I am not going to do a revision. I also had mine done a year ago but she agrees that if it didn't get flat the first time, I may have the same result so no way am I going through that again. The lipo of my muffin tops didn't take either! I weigh 5 lbs less than I did the day of my surgery so weight gain is not the cause. But I have my muffin tops back :( Sorry you are bummed but I just wanted you to know you aren't alone.
Hi newmomat37! I was wondering how you were and if you saw any improvements since we last spoke. It's even more depressing to hear that your PS told u that no amount of ab workouts is gonna fix the problem. It's crazy how one PS says it will and another says it won't. I guess I'll have to continue to do ab workouts to see what happens. I wish they would be able to let us know all of this before hand so that there wouldn't be any disapointments and so that money wouldn't be thrown down the drain. I don't know what to do or think. I guess I'm stuck with these results. Although I agree with you with there being a huge difference between the before and afters, I still wish I would of gotten what I thought I would get which was a flat stomach.
Sorry to hear things didn't change for you either. I hope one day we miraculously wake up to a washboard stomach lol!
I am happy to hear that you recognize the difference in your before and after pics. I understand your disappointment though b/c I too was told I could expect flat results since my problem was all MR and my PS said I had very little stomach fat. I guess it would have been nice to be told that a total flat stomach isn't always possible with severe diastasis but I finally came to terms with it. I finally had to let it go and except that this was my final result. I still exercise of course and do core stuff like planks. Don't give up as it won't hurt. I don't think you wasted your money because you did have a big improvement but I so understand the disappointment. I left this site for a long time b/c I think it can hurt as much as be a good thing. If we weren't looking at all these other before and after pics and comparing ourselves, we might have been happier. It is hard to see other pics of people who had worse looking before pics and came out better, it's just human nature to feel that way. I was bitter for along time. Some women on here are very large and over weight and ended up with flat bellies when I was well within the weight range for my height and just had this huge belly due to diastasis and here I am with only so so results. But I left a lot better when I let it go. While another doc may have done a better job, it is also possible another doc would have done a worse job. It is what it is. We both look better and there is nothing we can do but keep hitting the gym and be thankful we didn't have any crazy complications. I hope you get to the place where you can let it go. I know it is hard. it was only a few months ago for me. And believe me, I still get pissed, sad, whatever, sometimes when I look at my bulging tummy, but I am just over it. Cheers to you. :)
Hey Cat, I had to add that although you may not be totally happy, your pics posted present a HUGE improvement. It's important to go back and look at the old pics so you can see what a difference there really is. We are all our own worse critics but you look SOOOOOO much better. Post new pics if you think things are worse. Best wishes.
Hey, cat was thinking about you, how you doing? I'm going t be 1 year and not happy at all with my results!!!!! :(. Hope everything is good with you.

Hello!
It's been a while since I last updated my review. I wanna start off by saying I hope everyone is doing well. There really isn't anything new for me to update. My stomach still isn't completely flat although it looks a lot better than before. I've been exercising like a maniac, so I hope I wake up to a flat tummy one day. Until then, I'll continue my Ab work outs and I'll continue to have an open dialogue with my PS.

Hey Cat, Glad you're doing well. I have an appt. with Yager this thursday. I'm still getting very swollen at times which is really starting to concern me. Your pics look really good so if you're looking better than the last pic girl you have nothing to worry about. I finished the massages last week. I haven't done an update because there's not much change. I will do one at my 4 months post op. When will you be going back to Yager?
Hi Jusi!
Wow! You're still swelling? Good thing u will see him on Thursday. My next appt with Yager is July 25th. I saw him the ending of May and he told me to make an appt for two months instead of every month. I also have four more massages left, I actually have an appt for a massage 2morrow. I agree that my last updated pics look good, but I'm still not completely flat. There's days where I look like I'm 5 months pregnant and I'm starting to freak out again. I hope I wind up with the flat tummy I've dreamed of for almost ten years. I hope he can make something happen and fast because I don't know how much longer I can keep hearing them say "it's swelling".
I totally understand you. I too have been dreaming of a flat tummy for years. I'm also tired of swelling. It's so frustrating. My biggest fear is that I haven't done my tt (to which the more I heal I can tell I'm going to need it) having a harder time healing than now. I'm waiting for that 6th month mark and see what happens then.
Wow! I wish you the best of luck girl! Who knows, you'll probably heal faster from the tt cause to me the most painful part is the lipo and you already had that done. I had no problems with the scar or anything. The muscle repair hurts afterwards, but I still say the lipo is more painful than anything.
Hey Cat, just checking in how are you doing? Hope all is well.
Hi Jusi!
I'm doing well thanks. I had an appt yesterday for my last massage and they said I needed more. I see Yager the 25th of this month, so let's see if he mentions anything about me needing more massages. How r u? Did u decide to get more massages or are u doing them yourself? When do u see Yager again?
Hey Cat, Glad you're doing well. I'm doing my own massages now. They told me I needed more too but after the appt. with him he said I can do them myself or come back for more. I was going to back for more massages but then I read here that Lymphatic massages are good up to four months after that it doesn't really do anything so I'm four months now so I decided to follow what he said and do them myself. My next appt. is the 6th month post op in Aug. 14. That's when I'll finally book the day for my tt in october.
How's your incision? Are you happy now with the results? We need new pics!
Hey!
Oh! I did not know that the massages where only good up to four months. I'm four months post op as well, so I guess I'll be doing them on my own too. My scar has gotten really dark. I've used Bio Oil and Silicone sheets, but have not seen a difference. I'm going to wait until I see him to see if he recommends anything else. I haven't put up pics because I haven't seen much of a difference. I'm still pretty flat in the am, but huge by the pm. He did mention that if my muscle tone doesn't improve with Ab exercises, that he was gonna do some electro I don't know what lol to help me get a flat tummy sooner. Let's see what happens......
Regarding your scar I also read here that before it starts getting better it gets really dark first so hopefully that's the case. Electro...dont know what it is but im glad he has a backup plan. I haven't had any difference myself so I haven't added any new pictures.
Yeah, I also heard that it gets worse before it gets better. I hope it lightens up soon. I'm glad he has a back up plan too. I hope it works. I'll keep u posted on what's going on. Hopefully, I'll be as flat as a board really soon lol
Hey Cat, Are you ever going to post more pics no that its been a while to see your inprovement? I would love to see your results.
Hi jessie, I don't think imma post anymore pics. The last ones I posted are actually more appealing than how mytummy looks now :(
Really, yes I heard it gets worse like after 5 months, you really have to wait an entire year before it actually heals, I'm sure everything will turn out great, you are pretty slim. is the scar pretty low?
Hello ladies. I am just started the search for a TT. My girlfriend used him almost 8 years ago. Even though she has gain weight her stomach is still flat!!!!!!!!!!!! I have thought about this for years. Was ready to start my search in 2009 but god had different plans. Yes I became pregnant. Now I am DONE so any advice where to start???????????? Looking to have it done in November
hey Cat, hope all is well. so much to tell you, contact me when you're up to it!
Will do!
Hey Cat how are you? Hope all is well.
Hi Jusi I'm doing good. How are you? How are things looking?
Things are looking good. Just soreness. No more seroma and the scar is finally completely closed. I had a tiny spot where it had a spiting suture and it got irritated. I kept finding little traces of blood on the pad right over it. I put neosporin and it healed. I go back in 3Wks. The same day i go to the coumidin clinic to check my blood level. These blood clots really set me back and now i have to go to so many doctors appts. Glad to hear you're doing good!
Hi Jusi, How are things going? How you're feeling?

Hello ladies!
I just posted my two month post op TT pics and I'm glad that I can finally say I'm happy. Yes, I'm still swollen especially in the flank area, but that's to be expected. The ab exercises my PS suggested I do have been working. It has helped the swelling come down a lot. So far, I can say that I'm happy with my results and I know that as the months continue to go by, I'll continue to see improvements.

You definately look improved and holy cow on the hour glass shape! Good for you. Can you share what exercises for the abs your doc said to do? It is so confusing b/c some docs say don't do crunches and sit ups and others say it is ok. Some docs say it's ok to keep wearing the cg long after tt and others say not to????
Thanks and you really do look great, so glad you are feeling better. :)
Hello newmomat37!
It's good to hear from you again. I was actually thinking about you the other day and was gonna check in on you. Thx a lot for the compliment. My doc said I was pretty much clear to do any kind of ab work, but mostly I've been doing a lot of regular crunches, reverse crunches and situps. I've also been doing the Zumba abs Dvd and holy crap that Dvd is great! Regarding the cg's, every surgeon sure is different. Mine said that it isn't good to wear the cg longer than recommended cuz all that does is weaken the muscles even more. I don't know. I guess we just gotta listen to our own surgeons. I've been listening to mine to a T a so far everything has been working out.
Hey Jusi!
lol!!! Thx a lot Jusi!!!! I'm glad things are starting to get better and you're welcome. I cant wait to see your pics after your tt because you already look awesome!!!!!!!!
Wow!!! Cat, you look awesome! Girl look at those curves and that flat tummy! I'm really happy to hear and SEE how great your recovery is coming along. To think that you look this great with swelling imagine when it's all settled ba ba ba boom!!! It makes me look forward to my tt. Thanks for posting your pics.
Wow Cat..... Congratulations....you are looking awesome!!!!!
Thanks Sunny!
You look amazing and the scar looks great. You got the hour glass shape we all want :) was that your original shape before marriage and kids???
Hi cangregita.
I had an hourglass figure before my kids, but not like the way I have it now. Thx for the compliment!
You look phenomenal!!
Thank you so much uniquelynoone!
