I am 36 and have been dealing with large breast...

I am 36 and have been dealing with large breast the last 10 years. I have seriously considered having the surgery for the past year. I had my first consultation in December of last year. We submitted paperwork to my insurance and was denied the first time. That was incredibly discouraging! But I went to a chiropractor, my gynochologist and general practitioner and had them all write letters of recommendation. The insurance approved it the second time, which to my relief was done in only 3 weeks. Do to scheduling with my work I had to wait to schedule surgery til June 6. I am a smoker and was advised to quit at least 3 weeks before surgery. I am down to 4-5 a day and will completely quit May 1st. I am a little over a month away from surgery and cannot wait!! I have never been in a hospital for anything, so this is going to be a whole new experience for me. I am sure the closer it gets the more the nerves will kick in. But right now cannot wait to be operated on!!! I will put before pics the closer I am to surgery. It has been so helpful reading everyone's experiences and am very greatful to have this forum to hear personal stories and not just the clinical side of things. Will keep you posted!!

Had surgery yesterday. It could not have gone...

Had surgery yesterday. It could not have gone better! The ps had anticipated a 3 hour surgery, it ended up only being 2-21/2. I was pretty sore but mostly from the lipo. Went for post op check this morning. I was expecting them to look bruised and misshapen, but they were beautiful!!!! I was hoping to get down to a c, we got close they are pretty much a small d or large c. Pain is probably a 5 or 6 right now but worth it. Drains coming out Monday. Will keep you all posted!!! Best wishes to all of you!!!

Drains came out Monday. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. It is so much better with them out! I could not be happier with the results! I'm wearing the sports bra now. By the way the bras I found before I now fit in to!!!! I'm going to Victoria's Secret tomorrow for the first time in 11 years, I cannot wait.
To those who have had the surgery thanks for posting your stories to give women like me the courage to get this done. It's the best thing I've ever done.
To those of you waiting to get it done I wish you all the best!

Congratulations, Mrs. Reed! So glad that everything went so well for you and that you are thrilled with your results! Make sure you are getting plenty of rest and lots of fluids and before you know it you will be shopping for tank tops and polka-dotted bras!

Mrs. Reed,

To post pix go to update your review. Scroll down and you will find the place to upload them. I have read that people can't do it from a phone or tablet. I have always used my laptop and have never had a problem. Good luck!

Thanks for sharing your story, Mrs. Reed. Glad you found us. What a blessing that you got insurance approval! I can honestly tell you that this procedure has made such a positive difference in my life! I quit smoking about a year and a half ago. It was certainly hard, but totally worth it. There is no way I would be running on the treadmill now if it wasn't for quitting and having this surgery. Keep us updated and don't hesitate to hollar out if you have any questions! Good luck!!

Welcome! I'm a newbie myself, but joining was a great decision for me! All of the women have been so helpful and encouraging. It truly feels like a big family on here! I am having my surgery this coming Sat, and I am beyond excited! I'm glad that you were able to get ins coverage, that's so awesome! I hope your journey to quit smoking is not difficult for you and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, I know too well how hard it is to quit, but with determination, it can be accompplished! I've been smoke free for almost 8 years, lots of stress and three beautiful girls later, plus a husband to boot, LMBO! We all look forward to hearing more from you and are here for you. Take care!~Apple
