3 Weeks Post Op

It's been three weeks since my surgery. I've been trying to not wear a bra unless I have to. My nipples are so sensitive that everything hurts them. My right breast is squishy and rounding out like a natural breast. My left one is still sitting high on my chest and it seems bigger when I look down at them. Since I'm left handed and constantly using my left arm I'm wondering if that could be why. I work in a bank drive thru so I have to reach up to grab the tubes for the lanes. I go back for a follow up this coming Tuesday so I'll ask the doc about the difference.

The Day After

It's 11 in the morning in the day after my surgery. I feel fine other than tightness in my chest. I've been taking my pain medication every four hours. Since we had a 45 minute drive up, we left early in case of traffic and we were at the doctors office 1 1/2 before my scheduled time. I was supposed to arrive at 230. It worked out that I arrived early. The doc was done with his previous surgeries. My surgery wasn't going to start until 4. We were driving home by 430. After I changed into my hospital gown, they had me lay in the bed. There was a heater with a hose attached to a blue blanket with holes to disperse the heat throughout. I got overheated though and my rosacea flared up. I had to get the nurse to turn the heater off. That same nurse took my vitals and have me an iv. The plastic surgeon came in to mark my skin. The anesthesiologist arrived and asked about my allergies. Don't have any. Then he gave me something in my iv. The last thing I remember is the anesthesiologist and the nurse wheeling me into the hallway. The next thing I know is a nurse in recovery asking me how I am feeling. My response was "You have pretty hair." Haha. The drugs made me loopy. I informed the nurse that I had a long drive ahead so she gave me a pain and nausea pill for the road. I'm glad I asked for drugs for the ride. As I mentioned earlier without traffic it takes a 45 drive. Since it was traffic hour when I left the office. It took an 1 1/2. On the way home I had crackers and ginger ale. I managed to keep it down. We put dinner in the crockpot before we left. I ate that too and didn't get sick. I just kept taking small bites.

today's the day

It is surgery day. It is 630 and I've already been up for an hour. My surgery isn't until 230. When my husband and son wake up, I get the pleasure of watching them eat. I have to suffer no food or drink until after my Appt. My friend already warned me that she tried to eat something on her way home from surgery and she threw it all up. And since my surgery is early aftenoon, I'll be coming home during traffic hour. The worse part is that I already have a 45 minute drive from the office to home. If there is an accident, it's going to take even longer to get home. I'm going to ask the office if they can give me some kind of pain killers for the ride home.
