I've always hated my nose and after both of my sisters and my cousin got it done I finally decided to go through with it with Dr. Elam. I felt as though my nose was too wide in the front and my side profile was a disaster. It had a hump and my tip was boxy and droopy. Both of my parents are middle eastern which is where I got it from. I am currently 3 days post op and can't wait to get my cast off!

My surgery was on December 18 (Tuesday). Dr. Schwab, the anesthesiologist, called me the night before to see how I was doing and to make sure I was following all the pre op instructions they gave me. They have all been so kind and caring! I went in the next day and the nurse had me change and then walked me into the operating room. Dr. Schwab gave me some lidocaine to numb the area where he put the iv. The last thing I remembered was the nurse, Mindy, placing the EKG on me and then waking back up. Waking up was not bad at all. Dr. Elam told me everything went great and talked to me for a little bit. We started the surgery at about 815 and finished around 1025am. My pain was about a five nothing to major so the nurse gave me a little more pain medication. My pain went down and she called my sister to come get me and gave her the instructions on when to give me all my medications. Mindy helped me change back into my clothes and put me in a wheelchair and helped me into the car.

The first day I was walking around and feeling great. I felt very little pain at all. When my sisters and cousin got it done it they were in TONS of pain so they were shocked to see me recover quite quickly. I made sure to take all my medications and ice my face. The first night was the worst just because you have to sleep with the packing in that night and your mouth gets really dry so keep a huge glass of water next to you when you sleep. I went back to see Dr. Elam the next day and him and Molly were very gentle removing the packing. It was a little uncomfortable but nothing unbearable. Me and my sister went to fashion island right after and people were staring at me like I was crazy. I have a couple bruises under my eye and my cheeks are a little red from where the tape held up my gauze. I've been eating soups and just very light foods so that I don't get sick from the medications. Sleeping last night wasn't bad just a dry mouth again. So far I've had an amazing experience and will keep you guys updated!

Dr. Elam and his staff have been amazing and have given me the best care possible! I knew he was the right surgeon from when I first met him. I don't think I could have chosen a better surgeon! We all went to different doctors. However I found Dr. Elam off real self. I scheduled my consultation with him about a month before my surgery and fell in love with him and his staff! He took pictures and did the digital imaging on his computer and we talked about what he could do with my nose. Molly, the patient consultant/medical esthetician has been there for me since day one. She has been absolutely amazing with scheduling my appointment and being there for me throughout it all. :) I then scheduled my pre op appointment a month later and everything went well. I got my blood work done and Molly called in my medications for me to pick up the same day right across the street. All I had to do was wait until the day of the surgery. Him and the girls have been absolutely perfect!
