Hi RealSelf, I'm a 35, mother of 2 girls (4 & 3). I knew I wanted a TT after my first child, but wanted to wait until I was free and clear of having any more kids.
At first, my husband did not understand, but after much grumbling about not fitting anything and complaining about how unhappy I was about my body, he said he would support my decision to have a tummy tuck and breast reduction (I’ll post more about my breast under the Breast Reduction Topic)
Before the kids, I was a well-toned 5ft-0”, solid athletic build, flat stomach, size 8. After the kids I went to size 12 after the first one and size 14, after the second baby.
I am expecting this surgery to give me the boost in self-esteem and confidence in my body that I once had. Plus I'm looking forward to NOT having to adjust my pants when they rolled down or sew buttons on when the pop. Most of all, I'm looking forward to going shopping and getting my sexy back for me:)

Good for you in doing this for yourself! You deserve it and will be happy in the end. I had the breast reduction done first and then the tummy tuck. I am extremely happy with both results and love the new body. You will feel amazing after all if done.
Your self esteem and confidence will go through the roof. And yes the shopping is also a blast. I think I now have every color under the rainbow in panties and bra's.
I am also a shorty 5-1 and I tell you we can't hide anything!!! I really enjoy having the breasts off the waist and the double muffin top off the Va Jay Jay. No longer do I have anything meeting in the middle.
Are you able to join us for the Webinar on the 15th? It will be both educational and fun!

Shoot I was gone on vacation the past five days and just found this reply. The webinar was last night but it will be posted on the site soon. I will let you know when it is.
I'll post some after picks in next few days
I am glad to hear you are doing well! The pain will ease up each day and all will be fine. How nice to be able to sleep without the beeps all night. Now that is a bonus.
Can't wait to see your pictures.
Any sleeping tips? I think tonight I may sleep in this recliner
I am glad to hear that your family is taking good care of you :)
The first few nights are the hardest! Yes go to the the recliner with many pillows. That will be easier for you for a few nights. Any way you toss this it is all a pain in the butt the first week. You will be ok and feel better and better each day.
Keep up on the pain meds and fluids.
I found with my head and knees elevated I felt the best.
You will look great. Just don't be shocked at the swelling, bruising and redness. That will all improve over time.
I took a shower, it was vey ackward, thnaks to my sisiter, we were able to work it out. Trying to hold the drainage tube bulbs and shower was a little difficult. My husband is really escaping the good stuff
I do have a lot of swelling, my belly looks bloated... really bloated. Also, I noticed my appetite has changed... I don't have much of one. Its been 4 days post-op and I've yet to eat anything substantial, just liquids and saltines crackers. Is that normal, not to want to eat?
The first shower is very hard. You need to get the exercise band that I recommended. They look like a big rubber band. They are used in PT for therapy. I placed it around my neck and tied it. I then pinned the drains to the elastic band to hold them in place. It works really slick. My hubby invented this little idea while giving me my first shower.
The bloating is normal and will go down in time. I also had problems with the eating. I just wasn't hungry at all. That will come back in time as well. I enjoyed it while it lasted because that was so not normal for me. I love to eat :) As long as you get enough in you to take meds you are good. Do try to get some good lean protein in your system. That will help you heal really well.
Baby steps and you will get there.
How are the breasts looking?
My first follow-up is tomorrow, I'll see what the doc says
I will watch for the new pics :) Yes the swelling will go down and all look normal in time.
Will post pics when I get 4-6 weeks post op.
Kimmers, do you have any recommendations for girdles. They have good ones at the marenagroup. Com (brand of my binder) but wanted to know if anyone else found anything else that worked well. I want something smoother to wear for when I go back to work in 2 weeks
I am sorry you are feeling so sad. It will get better soon and you will feel like a new woman. Just take it a week at a time and know that you will get there. You are at a very hard point right now but it is all up hill from here.
If you feel like crying then go right ahead. Don't hold it in or it will feel even worse. A good cry now and then is healthy and you feel better after wards.
As far as the girdle goes I wore the Spanx for my first two weeks back to work. Other than that I never wore a binder or anything else after day 3 post op.
Hang in there:)
You are not backwards...it is fine how you have done it. It is never to late to drop a few pounds. It is always a good time to do something good for yourself.
You will love the Weight Watchers. That is what keeps me on track and is super easy to follow. You do not have that many pounds to drop so I bet you will get there quickly.
Hang in there because I know you can do it:)
Thanks for the vote of confidence:)
You have my vote anytime:)
Keep up the good work! I am very happy for you.
