It is about 3 weeks in from the laser procedure...

It is about 3 weeks in from the laser procedure and my skin looks pretty amazing. The pros are that one week out, I was back to my normal routine of working, exercise, seeing friends, meetings, etc. It is an outpatient treatment, so within 1-2 hours, I was in and out of the doctor's office and was able to work from my home office. I could see results by day 5 and was thrilled. The cons are that it is painful during the actual procedure and there is a lot of discomfort during the first 4 days of healing. The itchiness is almost unbearable around day 4, but thankfully only lasted for one day and night. I went through over 2 tubes of Aquaphor in 6 days and am still using on a few small dry patches. My face is still mildly red, but it looks like a very slight sunburn. The spots where I had dark freckles and sunspots turned even darker about 8-10 days post treatment and peeled (a few small spots are still peeling slightly). The doctor said this is expected since the laser went deepest over those areas. It makes sense realizing the skin has to repair itself and is essentially starting from scratch. I have no doubt this too shall pass. FYI: Jane Iredale BB Cream has been a savior for hiding red spots. It is mineral make-up and I would highly recommend this post treatment. I will likely continue to use regardless because I have become a hug fan of the line.

I had Active FX all over my face with the exception of the eye and mouth area, where I had Deep FX, My spots and freckles basically peeled off and my face now looks so smooth and clear. I would definitely recommend this, but be selective about the doctor and research his/her history doing this type of laser treatment. It works and definitely reduces fine lines, spots and wrinkles. I will be 39 next month and for the first time am feeling my age. This really gave me a boost and I can understand why so many choose this procedure.

Cut two years later, I went to a derm for a skin...

Cut two years later, I went to a derm for a skin check and she remarked that I had many sun and age spots that currently do not appear to be a threat, but something I may want to think about caring for with a peel(s) or laser. I immediately went to Dr. Schwarcz and he agreed, but recommended we do an Active FX laser treatment. I was really nervous, but he explained in detail the procedure, what to expect, the healing, etc. In a million years, I would have NEVER thought my skin could look this good this quickly and would have healed so well. Dr. Schwarcz told me it would take roughly a week and I did not believe it when I left his office because the procedure left a lot of marks and some slight pain (but he and his nurse were incredible and so comforting through the treatment). I am going for my one-week follow up tomorrow and am thrilled to show off my skin. I look and feel so revived, refreshed and my skin is glowing. The age spots and freckles (A LOT of them) are gone. As you can see from this review, I recommend Dr. Schwarcz whether you are having an elective procedure, getting a growth removed or doing any kind of facial reconstruction. He is a pro and top of his field.

The minute I met Dr. Schwarcz, I felt a sense of trust with his very warm and professional manner. He is genuine, incredibly passionate, honest and his attention to detail is more an art form than medicine. He takes a lot of time with his patients and I have never felt rushed or unimportant, something that is rare (especially in NYC where doctors are everywhere and touting how good they are). I was introduced to Dr. Schwarcz through a mutual friend who is a patient and, at the time, an on-air beauty expert for a national morning show. I went for a consultation because most of my adult life my upper and lower lids have bothered me, sagging skin that needed to be lifted/removed. In hindsight, I could not have been more fortunate for the introduction and could not have chosen a better surgeon. His work is flawless and to this day, people still say to me that something is really different about me and I look so refreshed, but not one person could put his/her finger on what I had done. He stands by his philosophy: IF people can tell work has been done, he is not doing his job. So it goes without saying my eyes look amazing. Through the entire recovery, Dr. Schwarcz returned every phone call personally and explained what was happening and what to expect. He was spot on as to the amount of days recovery would take and when I would likely feel comfortable going out in public. He is NOT a salesman and he is very classy.
