I had my consultation with Dr. Schulman and am scheduled for surgery in mid-January. I am nervous and so excited at the same time! I can't wait to have a perky bottom!! LOL. I have always disliked the way my bottom looked. Even when I ran marathons and was a size zero, if I put a pencil at the base of my bum and top of my thigh it would stay! I am soooo looking forward to this!

Ok... I've gotten the scripts filled and got the OTC meds, the stage 2 garment, a friend to help me but I need to know... What are the pads that you're using? What are they fo and how long do you use them?

The anti inflammatory diet. http://www.drweil.com/drw/u/ART02012/anti-inflammatory-diet Although I routinely follow this in a fundamental form of avoiding refined sugars (especially high fructose corn syrup) and bleached/ enriched flours, this website tells you what you should eat to help your body be the fine- tuned healing machine it was born to be! Even if you only follow the advice (or some) for your surgery timeframes, it will help your recovery immensely. If you have a sweet tooth that refuses to go away (like me :-) there are candies and chocolates that are less damning than others. I'd be happy to share...

OMG! 3 weeks to go! My balance is paid and the bloodwork completed. Thank God Christmas, my birthday and New Year's will distract me from (completely) obsessing! I love seeing everyone's post-op updates! Please keep 'em coming!

Has anyone used the boppy pillow to drive? Did you feel like you we're too high in the seat? My plan was to use my (already owned) yoga mat under my thighs and a small lumbar pillow behind my waist, but if any of you we're able to drive with the boppy, I may just look for one at Marshall's/ TJ Maxx rather than need to sew or pin a strap to a lumbar cushion (to hang it from the headrest). Any thoughts?

OMG! I can't believe my surgery is 5 days away!!!

I've been in bed for 3 straight days with the nasty flu that's going around. At least I'm getting some rest, but I hope it's completely gone by the 10th. I'm going to venture out tomorrow for foam. I love that cut-out idea so I can sleep on my back. Whoever came up with the idea is a genius!!

Thank you for the PMs and responses to my posts! Everyone's well wishes mean SO much!! This board is GREAT!

I have so much padding in. I'm certain I'll be thrilled with the results. Pain is uncomfortable but far from unbearable. The worst part of the experience is being so incredibly thirsty. I've been walking around a lot- from the get go (and taking the oxycodon- LOL)

I'm not allowed to shower til Monday. I'll def post more pictures without all the padding. Thank you everyone for your positive thoughts and prayers. If made a difference! I'm moving around without much difficulty.

I'm more bruised than I thought! Dr Schulman got fat from places I didn't even know there was much to be had! :-). I feel weird without the compression garment (It's in the wash). I I've the overall look and can't wait for the swelling to go down more.

Sorry for the poor quality of some of the pics. The room with the best mirror has the worst lighting. Sorry!

So I'm about to run a couple errands and its the first day I'm not wearing a jacket that totally covers my backside... I'll try to post more pics when I get back- but I HAVE to get some firming lotion!! LOL

Hello Bootyfuls and soon-to-be Bootyfuls!!! I had a post-op visit with Dr Schulman yesterday and he said I'm healing nicely. He is very easy to talk to and expresses feedback in a manner that is easily understandable. I have another follow up visit in a few weeks.

My swelling is going down every day- except maybe last night. I ate a snack called Pirate Booty and just realized right now that it's kind of funny, or at least ironic! LOL. There's a lot of sodium in it which won't help at all with swelling/ inflammation! Oops!

Driving (really just getting in and out of the car) is finally getting easier. I was feeling like I was 90! Today, maybe a "spring chicken" of 70. :-) Picking stuff up from the floor is still difficult. (It's hard to bend over with a full trunk! I feel a little silly today... Hope everyone is doing great!!!! Muah!!!

Still sleeping on my stomach and recently added sleeping on my side (although leaning forward, using my top leg like a kick stand). I think I've gotten used to it! Dr. Schulman told me i could sit (where my weight is mostly supported by my thighs- think nothing reclining! :-( I'm really happy so far. Much of my swelling has subsided and I am so pleased with my shape!

Yesterday (March 7) was my 2 month anniversary. I can now go garment free (although I will likely wear it if I notice an increase in inflammation). I feel pretty good and am very pleased with my results.

I hope I can add stars for "after care" after some time. Seriously? How can I rate this immediately following surgery? I found Dr. Schulman on Real Self and liked everything I found there. When I researched even further, I was more impressed with the awards and accolades that have been bestowed upon him.

Hi, my surgery date with Dr. Schulman is right around the corner, and I was wondering whether you were in a lot of pain when you first woke up from the surgery? Like during the time in between the anesthesia wearing off and taking your first pain pill? I think this is what I'm most scared of!!! Thanks!!!

Omg girl! you look amazing! your results look so natural.. how tall are you and how much did you weight before the operation?? I want to get a BBL but i'm scared that if i lose too much weight i wont have enough fat, you seem so slim to begin with and you still got it! maybe a can too! :D thanks.
DashaD 10 Mar 2013
Hi Perky! (I absolutely love your screen name! :-) I'm between 5'6" and 5'7". I don't own a scale but wore a size 4, on average, when I had my consult. I would say I probably gained close to 10 lbs by the surgery date. (Due in large part to Christmas cookies!) Even my PS was surprised at how much fat he got!
CGray 8 Mar 2013
awwww shit gurl looking hella good
DashaD 15 Mar 2013
Thanks C!! Are you excited?? Your May date is right around the corner!!

A thousand times YES

You look great! Do you feel like you lost a lot of volume since right after the surgery, or do you think you retained most of the initial volume?
DashaD 8 Mar 2013
Thank you!!! I have lost volume- however- it was inflammation. I really don't feel like I lost much fat from my buttocks at all. I think the heated throw was really helpful. I made sure it covered my bottom while I slept. (That was using the theory that because heat dilates the blood vessels, my body would build up all the connections needed to maintain the new fat... This was completely my theory, not my doctors- but I should run it by him... :-)

Thank you Hun! How is your search going? I admire your research tenacity! It's so good to be careful :-)

You look awesome hun! Look at those curvesz! Isnt it amazing what these docs can do? You look so toned too? Have u been working out? I just crossed over 2 weeks ago too..I'm still in the swelling stage...arrgg..patience is key though..how many CCS did they end up getting from you?
DashaD 8 Mar 2013
Hi! Thank you!!!!! You do too!!! (I just peeked at your blog). The first couple of weeks ate incredible aren't they? You can see changes on a daily basis! I didn't *try* to gain weight but.... Christmas did stand between my consult and the surgery! 0:-) He was able to put 1000 CCs in each cheek. I can't believe You said I look toned!!! Although I used to run marathons, I haven't run or worked out in 5 years!! Very shameful! :-( (I saw your doc is in Sarasota. I used to live in Tampa and have family in the Bradenton area)
SheGottaDunk941 8 Mar 2013
haha - yes they are! I just hope that I retain most of my volume. Gurl your legs are awesome - your whole body is! you look like youve been working out steady! Aww wow, its such a small world...l let me know if you ever come to visit = )

You look so amazing, I actually scheduled my BBL with Dr. Schulman after seeing your pics! I had a question about compression garments, I've been reading a ton about garments, squeems, waist cinchers, etc on this site and I know that they put you in one right after surgery, but did you buy any additional ones? If so, which did you purchase? Also, how long do you have to wear them after surgery? Thanks so much!!!
DashaD 6 Mar 2013
HI!!! Congrats on your decision! I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Dr Schulman is incredible, his staff is wonderful and the surgical center staff was also fabulous. My whole experience was really great. Dr Schulman uses the Marena brand (Marenagroup.com) They'll put you in a stage 1 garment immediately following surgery. You'll need to wear a stage 1 garment for about 3 weeks and then switch to a stage 2. I didn't buy additional stage 1 garments but did purchase 2 stage 2s. I was pretty overzealous prior to surgery and bought a couple garments that I ended up not using- 1 was the "butt out" type that the Doc doesn't use and the other just isn't as comfortable as the Marena brand. Tomorrow is 8 weeks for me and I think I can go garment-free now, but have to check with the doctor. I've actually grown to like wearing the garment... 0:-)
DashaD 6 Mar 2013
OMGosh! ...and thank you for such a nice compliment!!!
janedoe1234 6 Mar 2013
Thanks so much for the info!!! Please post more pics, so I can get even more excited about my surgery lol
DashaD 6 Mar 2013
:-) I'm planning on posting more pics tomorrow- my 2 month mark.
janedoe1234 6 Mar 2013
Yay!!!! If you could a side pic, that would be great!!! Sorry, I'm on here making requests :)
