Post BBL May 7

I haven't been happy with my shape for many years....

I haven't been happy with my shape for many years. I've always wanted to do something about my flat butt, but I was afraid of surgery. I've been an RN for many years so I know the good, bad and ugly of surgery. But I have decided that its something I want to finally do for myself and now I'm so excited. I live in NYC so I've been researching doctors in my area. I would prefe to stay close to home so I'm going to try to find the best here. The only problem is that I want a BIG BOOTY and I'm noticing that there are many doctors here that do not share my vision. I want to get what I want and I don't want any doctor who is conservative. When I begin my consultations I will be taking photos of doctors from out of town who are doing what I would like to be done. From this website, I like Dr. Salamis, Dr. Jimerson and Dr. Yily's work but I'm not willing to travel. So far I found Dr. Shulman in NYC and from the reviews I can see that he may be able to accomplish what I want. If you have anyone you can recommend, please let me know.

I have a consultation scheduled for Dr. Schulman. ...

I have a consultation scheduled for Dr. Schulman. Fingers crossed that he gets it... I'm collecting my wish pics so there is no question of what I want.

Today I am scheduled for my consultation with Dr....

Today I am scheduled for my consultation with Dr. Schulman. I'm trying to figure out everything I need to ask and get realistic wish pics to show him. So far, I'm impressed with his work and I hope he tells me what I want to hear.

Just a little more details.... I'm 5' 4" tall and about 143lbs. My butt is extremely flat and if you have children, you know that whatever I did have is now gone (which wasn't much anyway). I just had a baby in November and even though I'm still breastfeeding, I feel like my body is relatively back to normal. I have research the whole surgery and breastfeeding thing so I'm eager for him to let me know if it's even possible to go back to breastfeeding after the surgery.

I would like lipo to the abdomen, back, flanks, inner thighs with transfer of at least 1000ml to the butt and just a small amount to round out my hips. I'm not looking for a shelf boogie.. I want a small waist with more fullness towards the bottom.

Also... I have an online consultation with Dr. Salama. I will be sending my before pics to him soon. I will post them when I take them. HOWEVER... he does not have an opening until.... Wait for it... JANUARY!!!! Everybody trying to get right for summer... I guess I'm late :/

So I went to my consultation and now I'm really...

So I went to my consultation and now I'm really excited! I don't want to be too excited because this is my first consultation and I want to feel like I did my research. But Dr. Schulman answered all of my questions. He provided so much assurance and he seemed to be sure they he could give me exactly what I want. As for his work, I have been looking hi and low and I have not found any negative reviews or malpractice claims against him. His technique is patented and he did not seem surprised by the size and shape that I am requesting. As for many other Drs in New York, I find that they are really conservative. So if anyone has any suggestions for Drs. In the New York tri-state area please let me know. As for now I'm still looking.

Oh... And he said I can do the surgery as soon as I stop breastfeeding. Another Dr that I spoke to would not do it until I was not breastfeeding for at least six months. I'm happy about that!

So I decided to got with Dr. Schulman. Dr...

So I decided to got with Dr. Schulman. Dr Schulmans office staff was very professional he answered all of the questions that I had and he feels confident that he can give me the results that I am looking for. I was very specific about the look that I'm going for. I have wish pics for him and I will be meeting with him before my surgery to discuss this again.
So now I will be in preparation mode. I'm so excited and I can't wait for this to
get done!

As the time gets closer, I'm getting more and more...

As the time gets closer, I'm getting more and more anxious. I cannot end my day without reading endless updates and reviews about BBLs. My pre op is April 24th and I have so many questions. Are my expectations realistic? How will my recovery be? I'm driving myself CRAZY!!

So I had a preop visit with my PCP today. She...

So I had a preop visit with my PCP today. She made me feel so much better about doing the BBL. She's just as excited about it as I am. She put me at ease regarding the procedure and the recovery. So now I'm just waiting for my preop blood work to clear and I will be officially on the countdown.... Ooooowweeee!!!

I had my pre op visit with Dr Schulman yesterday...

I had my pre op visit with Dr Schulman yesterday and I must say he has a way of making everything ok! I had some questions for him and he answered everything on point. Of course my RN antennas will go up whenever it has something to do with my health. I questioned him about his infection rates (which was none), his anesthiologist (which he speaks very highly of), and I also questioned privacy (because I don't want to run into any of my nurse colleagues in this process). I left his office with a renewed confidence in him and in my decision.... Yaaaayyyyy. Ummm, IT'S ABOUT TO GO DOWN!!!! (In my Jay Z voice)

I have 7 more days to go!! OMG....

I'm scheduled for 2pm tomorrow for my BBL. I really can't explain how I'm feeling... A little nervous, some anxiety, much excitement all in one. I'm trying to prepare as much as possible, but I feel like I can't be prepared enough. I have as much help as I can get on deck and I have been pumping milk like crazy for my baby boy. I sent Dr Schulman more wish pics and I can't stop looking at the results of all these ladies on RS. Good thing is that I have not changed what I want. I'm certain about the look I want to achieve. So now I'm just trying to sit back, relax and get ready for this journey.

I got the call today from the surgery center. Good news is I can eat a lite meal up to five hours before the surgery since I'm scheduled for the afternoon. I will get up early to get some things I will need. I need more gauze, medical tape, chucks for the bed, and old sheets and blankets (the oozing can get bad). I'm just taking my meds, phone and ID to the surgery center. If the little man allows, I'm gonna try to get a good nights sleep. I will be praying all night...

So far so great... I'm done and I feel... Dare I say... Good! My butt is big, my waist is small and the pain is minimal. Once I get situated, I will post some before and after pics.

Here are some before and after pics...

This is post op day 1

Yes, the pain is real! But it's definitely...

Yes, the pain is real! But it's definitely bearable. I have been able to reduce my pain medicine from two tabs to one. I'm still very swollen and I haven't pooped yet. Fortunately, I'm not uncomfortable. I can't shower until tomorrow, I'm so looking forward to that. My mother has been a god send. She has stayed with me since the surgery and she took baby boy with her today. Honestly, this is the best rest that I have had since he was born. THANK YOU MOMMY!

Yesterday felt so good. I was able to finally...

Yesterday felt so good. I was able to finally shower and although it felt a little weird, I was one of the longest and best showers ever. My body feels so different inside and out. I'm still a little numb and bruised but I'm sure it could be worst. LAWD... I LOVE LOVE LOVE my results so far. I could not stop looking at myself on amazement. While showering, I washed and dried my CG, so it was a little hard getting it back on. My girls where here to help me out. I think that I swelled up a little while I had the garment off. My only concern is my abdomen skin. I will ask Dr. Schulman about the ab board and firming creams to tighten that skin up. Right now it just feels like fluid in that area. So far so great!

I'm beginning to feel just a little normal. Of...

I'm beginning to feel just a little normal. Of course I wish I could sit or lay on my back, but besides that I'm moving quite ok. Today makes week one and I still love my results lol. I have my post op scheduled for Friday so I just want to be prepared with any questions or concerns I have for the Dr. I went online to inthepinkroom.com and ordered a tummy tightening board, a lower back board and lipo cream that is supposed to even out the lipo and tone the skin. Hope it helps. They were very helpful when I called and they knew exactly what to recommend. Although Dr S does not recommend massages, I think I will schedule one for the end of the month. My masseuse in my are does great lymphatic drainage massages.

Almost at the 3 week mark!

I haven't posted in a while so I have a lot to say. First, I feel abot 90% back to normal. No meds needed at all. I just have a little stiffness in the am when I get up. But once I'm moving , I'm ok. Second, I went to see Dr S last Friday. He said he took out about 6.1 liters and put back 2.4 liters... That's 1200 cc in each cheek. Wow... He said he would have put more, but my skin would not allow it.
Now... Ummm how do I feel about my results. Ok I have to say I'm satisfied. I realize that sometimes we look for perfection, it in the case of plastic surgery perfection can lead to addiction and this addiction is way too expensive and painful to have. I told Dr S that I wish my butt was bigger! My friends and family says its perfect for my size and shape and as I wrote, Dr S put what he could put. Also, I'm not sure if my belly is still swollen or if its a little lumpy. He says its ok to get massages, so I will see if that help. He says that it will take a while for the swelling to go down so I will see. Of course I notice it, but it has to be pointed out to others. I'm still just a little bruised, but its fading quickly and I can definitely tell that my outer thighs where done. He did not take much from the inner thighs. My back looks good, it's much smaller, I have to go down a bra size lol. I have some scarring from the areas where he inserted the cannula, I'm putting Shea butter on them religiously to help fade the marks. All in all, I would definitely recommend Dr S and I would use him again when and if I decide to do anything else... I'm considering doing my breasts after I see what breastfeeding leaves behind.

Today makes a full 3 weeks!

I'm feeling good. I finally began to sit and drive without the hoppy. I went to the salon today (the first time since the surgery) and I was comfortable. At one point I had some anxiety because I felt like my booty was deflating. I know that my swelling has gone down a lot and Dr S warned that I should be aware that it may appear smaller after the swelling subsides. But believe me, I'm still satisfied. I'm moving down to the stage two garment and I'm still using the boards and cream from the pink room. I have started doing some leg lifts and squats and I'm looking forward to the fluffing I hear about.

Thanks so much for your update! It's reassuring to know that your doing so well. I have a question for you. I am a business owner-professional work environment-extensive sitting-just purchased a new cozy chair in preparation for post opt recovery. I plan on being out of the office for two weeks. If I use a yoga mat to assist me in sitting on my thighs, do you see two weeks being sufficient or would you advise 3 weeks out?

I would recommend 3 weeks if possible. Especially if you have a sedentary job. Even now when I sit for long periods of time, I feel sore getting up and moving even in the morning. I used the boppy when I had to drive, but I only sat for short periods. This week was the first time that I actually sat straight on my butt without a boppy... I had to get this hair done.

I feel you on the hair lol ok, thanks for your advice. Do you place the boppy under your thighs?

Thanks for your update. From what I can see, your booty looks round, shapely and very proportionate (like you were born with it) for your body. Sounds like you wanted a more exaggerated result, but your still mostly satisfied. As you saw with NitaBonita, it seemed her butt started to Fluff big time! Question: how do you handle bowel movements with the garment....especially that very first BM post surgery? Did you have to take the garment off for the first BM......?

Hello B4R.. I'm actually getting to like the results more and more. Dr S warned that I may get used to the size that it was when I was swollen. I think that's what happened. As for the BM, you have to remove the garment. To urinate with the garment is fine, but you definitely need to take it off for the BM.

I'm sitting on my thighs and I swear it makes a difference. I feel like I may be almost normal now, just really really sore and in pain but at least I'm moving in the right direction. inthepinkroom.com are awesome! I tried to use their board at night but I felt like I couldn't breathe! I think that may be a stage 2 item for me, or I'll see what Dr. S says during my post op tomorrow. Sending you wishes for a speedy comfy recovery hun!

Foineeeeeeeee! You look great sweet harlem!! I haven't pooed either, but I haven't been eating much. I've just been drinking lots of water, having fruits and yogurt, a tiny bit of rice and veggies of all kinds. I'm not too too worried about pooing though, but I plan to try on Saturday/Sunday. I kinda avoided the stool softener because I've used Colace before and it's not that effective for me. I much prefer a warm half cup of prune juice at night. The prune juice works like magic for me overnight, but every body's body is different lol. I plan to be really patient with myself when it comes to poo!
