MiraDry Worked for Me! 19 Year Old Female - Skokie, IL

I had my first treatment of miraDry in May 2012. I had been suffering for years and I finally found a procedure that I knew would help me forever. It was easy telling my Mom, but we had to convince my Dad. I ended up having the procedure less than a week after hearing about miraDry and telling my parents. I did not know what to expect, but it was not bad at all. Yes, they say it doesn't hurt, but it does. Actually, the shots they give you to numb the whole area hurt a LOT worse than the miraDry itself. It just feels like a suction cup.

The red marks from the miraDry went away within 3-days, but the bruising took about 1.5 weeks to completely go away, after the first treatment. I think I got a level 2 the first treatment. Overall I was satisfied with the whole process, and my Mom was too. I had my second treatment in August 2012. I knew I wanted to have level 3, but she recommended level 4, so I went with it. This time I knew what to expect, and it hurt a lot worse than the first time. Maybe this was because I was nervous and I knew that the shots where going to hurt. Luckily, the doctor went off topic and kept me some what distracted.

Overall the bruising was a lot worse from level 4. It took me a good 2 weeks to heal completely. I also had some nerve damage, that has slowly gone away, but I can still feel a tingly feel from my armpit to my elbow sometimes, like when I am putting on deodorant it feels a little numb. That's another thing. They told me I did not need to wear deodorant any more and that I would not have to shave because the procedure kills the hair follicles. This is false, I still have to wear deodorant and shave.

Overall, I would HIGHLY recommend miraDry to anyone who is suffering from sweating. It will change your life forever. It might hurt a little, but it is 100% worth all the pain. I would say the procedure results are around 80%. I do not sweat on a daily basis like I used to, but I still do sweat, not as bad, in high stress situations. If you are suffering, get help. It will also help with your self esteem. I am only 19 years old, and I am so glad I got miraDry.

Do you feel like you sweat more in other places like your hands or feet?

I'm so glad that your parents were open to allowing you to have this procedure, and that it ended up helping you.

If you are still sweating in high stress situations that seems like a good thing to me, like your body is just reacting to the situation but not excessively other times. I'm really happy for you!!

I know a lot of other people have mentioned this has changed what they feel comfortable wearing since they don't have to hide sweat stains anymore. Have you felt more free to wear things you wouldn't have before?

Yes definitely! I love being able to shop at stores and buy whatever color I want now!
