Hello all! I have been creeping on real
Self for months now and all of the reviews have been beyond helpful. This site has been absolutely wonderful throughout this process. I've been thinking about a BA for a few years but never thought I would truly ever do it. I've always considered it but always talked myself out of it mostly due to the social stigma that comes along with it. Of course the cost, pain, and many misconceptions I had were factors, as well (effects on breast feeding that turned out to be untrue, etc.) I had my first and only consultation with Dr Michael Hueneke in early November and was so comfortable with him and his staff that I scheduled surgery the same day! He is very knowledgeable yet patient and kind. He always gave me the explanation and statistics behind his opinions on different implants, incisions, sizes, etc etc. His nurse, Ashley, was extremely sweet, as well, and his staff as a whole made me very comfortable.
Here's what has been decided for sure:
- Sientra silicone implants (high profile, I believe)
- inframammary incision (under boob crease)
I have settled between 350 and 450 ccs (I think) although it seems to change everyday! According to Dr Hueneke, I am currently a full A cup but have been wearing a B cup for years. I would like to get to a large C, small D with as natural a look and feel as I can get. I am very indecisive in regards to size so any advice would be greatly appreciated! I have heard that most BA regrets are that they're too small and for the money and time, etc. I do not want that regret. I trust Dr Hueneke to help me make the right decision in this regard.
I hope to post some before pictures this evening.
No matter what, I am absolutely sooo excited! Most days, I wish I had done it yesterday! Other days, I feel nervous and unprepared. My preop appointment is next Friday, Jan 2nd. I have purchased a few front closure sports bras but I figure I will wait to purchase all of my other necessities and prescriptions until after that appointment. Who knows if the bras I got will even fit.
My biggest hurdle will be telling family/friends. No one in my family knows except my stepmom who is one of my best friends. A few of my closest friends know and have mixed feelings. They just don't want me to go too huge which I am not concerned about. I want it all to be tasteful. My mom and that side of my family is wonderful but very religious and I know they will feel somewhat strongly against this decision. I'm trying to decide if I want to conquer that discussion before the surgery or after. Anyone in a similar spot with any advice?
Will post again soon! Hopefully pics, too! Merry Christmas Eve, ladies. And again, thank you in advance for
Your support.

Hi! I say go for 450cc you won't regret it. I am 5'2 and 130 Pds. 3 years ago I went for a BA and couldn't decide what size to get, my doc advised me to go for 450 since most ppl regret going smaller.. I am so glad I did!

Uh Oh...
Now I'm having second thoughts about the inframammary incision! [RS bleep]! Excuse my language. I just keep thinking I have decided definitely on something and then I have second thoughts. I think I will need to have quite a discussion with Dr. Hueneke at my preop appointment.
Just fyi, the other I am now considering is the armpit incision. The healing just looks so good on some people (in pictures anyway), barely visible on some.
Your input is appreciated.

A lot of surgeons won't do it that way now, for whatever reason. I think it's harder to make the pocket in the right place. But always worth asking; I know a friend who has saline implants through the arm pit and hers still look amazing, like 15 years later! Good luck in whatever you decide!

I, too, was going to for armpit, due to the same thinking - small scar, boob is all in tact. But, because you will most likely sometime in your life time need another surgery, they cannot go through armpit again, they would have to cut the crease or the areola, now you got two scars. That was my decision maker on the crease.

I thought I was getting my incision under the boob, but after surgery my husband told me that he went through my armpit! So far the healing process hasn't been too bad with it either!! Good luck on whatever you decide!!

December 27, 2014
that is where i am getting mine threw the armpit....when is your BA scheduled?

December 27, 2014
January 14th! My prep is next Friday, the 2nd, so hopefully I can finalize some decisions then. I am just so indecisive about everything. I think my doctor will recommend the under boob incision still but I want to talk to him about it. When is yours?

December 27, 2014
Doesn't hurt to consider every option that's for sure. Just make sure you go with what you feel the most comfortable with. My BA is on the 5th of Jan!! I already started taking the meds that were giving to me that are to be taken 10 days prior to surgery, I am beyond excited and nervous and anxious!

December 27, 2014
That's so exciting! What are the meds to be taken pre-surgery? I wonder if I will have those.

December 27, 2014
I would have to look at the name but they are to reduce bruising and blood clotting after surgery

I had mine done November 12 and you can barley see my scar under my boob and have had no pain no problems! I went with 480 cc UHP under muscle and they look awesome. I am now a full D! Go bigger you won't be disappointed
