I’m a guy, why did I get this done? Because I...

I’m a guy, why did I get this done? Because I can and if others tell me why I shouldn’t they aren’t the ones paying for this, I am, so they can just take their opinion elsewhere. I decided I am going to enhance my look as much as I want and use my hard earned money to improve on myself in areas I absolutely cannot (exercise and diet can only do so much). I went ahead with this journey because I had heard great things about it. At first I was really shy to tell the nurses and the doctor what I was getting done, I would say things like fat transfer or augmentation. But after this I simply say “I got a butt job”. To be completely honest the recovery was neither bad nor was it long, the whole not sitting thing worked just fine for me because I sit on my hams when I drive and stand at a desk at work, and I’m also a side sleeper and as I didn’t get any side fat grafting to keep a masculine behind, sleeping on my side was a breeze. I will have to say I WISHED they would make male body compression for a BBL as the female one was less than kind to the male anatomy. It constricted the male parts and was strapped like a bra that pushed up your man boobs and gave you the famed back fat as well as people wondering if you were a guy in a bra. I would also suggest asking to buy TWO body compression gear so you can cycle them in the wash, it’s really a pain to take it off and wash it every other day when you want to shower every day and having to put back the dirty one, especially if you live an active lifestyle or it’s hot in the summer. You will save on stress and your water bill and deodorant if you buy two or more. The procedure was about as quick as my other ones, it was a count to 3 and you’re out like a lightbulb, then you wake up 3 hours later and it’s like you took a 1 minute nap. I won’t load any pictures b/c honesty I do not think anyone wants to see a guy butt.

6 weeks post-op

I have been very good and have not once sat on my butt, it's still a little sore to physically run either outside or on the treadmill but I'm starting to gear up for the upcoming fall training/bulking period for my next big body building project so that means lots of heavy lifting and squatting. I have also been very good and have been wearing this god-forsaken compression gear 24/7 but plan to at the end of this month to wear it only during the day. I promise to take pictures once I start getting back in shape but just a few FYI: massaging the areas where you were lipo and gently on the butt is very helpful to prevent cold, numb and tingling feelings. I invested in a handheld massager but also have assess to a standing vibration which feels amazing on the tissue. The more active you are the less sore you tend to get. water will really bloat you big time and constrict your compression gear so only sip when necessary and absolutely stay away from salt and soda. Do not eat a full mean before bed or at least 2-3 hours before it's very uncomfortable to sleep on your stomach when it's full. Otherwise so far so good...I do see "enhancements" in the future so i'll update on that too!

I Finally Sat

I started my body building program again on Monday, that meant I had to lay on my back and sit on my butt to lift. At first I was really scared but I did get the clear to go forward with this, which is good since I feel like I've been super lazy and haven't really been active at all since my procedures. I am putting my all into this and just remembering how hard it is to eat clean and lift heavy :) It's still sore but I'm getting there. My biggest fear is that after all this hard work I will need more work and that brings me back to square one, but I've also taken a lot of peoples advice that you recover much quicker the second time around. The journey was great and I can't wait to update you later with pictures from the end results.

I was skeptical at first since I had liked my previous surgeon to a certain trust degree but my previous surgeon did not perform this procedure and recommended Dr. Kovanda, whom my surgeon stated, “was an amazing surgeon and absolutely knows what he’s doing and would positively trust Dr. Kovanda to perform this procedure” so I gave Dr. Kovanda a try. My very first impression on the office was that it was rather small. I was lead to a room where a young women came in to explain some of the procedures to me. This young women’s name was Dayo, if I was nervous at first she totally broke the ice! She’s very charismatic and looked like she enjoyed her work very much, very personable and met me at my level, she did not belittle me for being a guy who wanted this done nor asked why I wanted this done. She also answered every email inquiry very fast, quick to fix any mistakes and ensured me I was in the right hands. She def. SOLD the practice. Now for Dr. Kovanda: Dr. Kovanda comes across to me a goof (I’m sure he knows who I am) but he’s a fun goof, that’s his personality to me. He showed me pictures, he told me what he can do and he was willing to work with me on all levels. Made sure I was comfortable with my pain (asked me if I needed more pain meds) told me exactly what he was going to do by marking me up and how he can do it to my desires. I am going to be bothering Dr. Kovanda for a long time and probably use him for all my future procedures which I plan to get much more of (including revisions) as long as he is comfortable doing so, I just feel that if you find one surgeon you really connect with who do great work you should stick with that surgeon (much like a tattoo artist) and I’m sure that if they cannot professionally perform a service to you they would let you know. I would highly recommend asking Dr. Kovanda for your procedures!
