Started off weighing 292 Pounds. I was very small coming up and when I turned 18 I had my first child and that's when the weight crept up on me, my second child I went from 142 to 198 then my third child in 2007 I went from 230 to 278 pounds!! Also each pregnancy my kids weighed between 8 and 11 pounds!!!! I had no time for me, I was depressed and tried every diet known to mankind. I was diagnose with diabetes in 2008 and I felt that the breaking point was right there!!!

I decided to have the Gastric Bypass surgery, Medicare approved my wishes Dec of 2010, Surgery was set for Feb 11th 2011 and was a big SUCCESS!!!

Hi Simone,

Thanks for your review! You've done so well and you're looking great. If you don't mind me asking, how much do you weigh now?

Keep up the good work!

Hello Analani! It really depends on that individual, My skin is sagging in the arm area and leg area. But I also know a few ladies that have lost over 250 pounds and only have sagging skin in the stomach area. I knew that I was going to have sagging skin, I will look forward to plastic surgery in the future.

I'm sorry to hear about your symtoms, to tell you the truth when I was 3 weeks out I was grocery shopping and I went back to work! (even though I was not suppose to) Some people response to the surgery varies.

Hi Chickadee,

I haven't had the bypass yet, I will be having it in January 2012. However, I have had a gastric balloon and I was suffering the same symptoms you are. I lost 20 pounds in 4 days as I couldn't keep anything down, not even a sip of water. For me it got to the stage where I had to be admitted to hospital to have IV anti sickness and painkillers. They also gave me some much needed fluid. It took another week or 2 before I could start eating again.

After surgery like this your body is going to react very strongly to what has happened. Your stomach won't understand and will be fighting you. You have to train your stomach into thinking that this is the way it's going to be from now on.

Simone is right that everyone reacts differently to this procedure. You need to stay in contact with your doctor and ensure you take your sickness drugs. Keep trying to eat and drink, even the tiniest amounts are a victory at the begining.

Good luck!

Kirsty
