4 Months after Explant...
Seems such a distant memory and still no regrets. My clothes look better, I am more comfortable, can sleep better, wear nicer underwear, have massages, sleep without a bra on, play sport without wearing two sports bras, sleep on my front, and I feel so much lighter and ladylike (didn't expect that!).
I even went topless by the pool on holiday, I may have scars but they are scars that remind me of how lucky I have been.
If anyone has any questions or needs any support, please contact me i'd be happy to help. The ladies on this site made the whole ordeal so much easier and I will always be grateful.

I hade removal on the 9th this month. In a way I am happy but at the moment I can't still cope with it. I keep crying and I can't look at them. I had a pick after the operation and I was in tears, they are disgusting! They are smaller then before the implants. I try to think about people worse then I am but I just can't help it. I have been reading stories on this website and most people are quite happy with the result but I am not at all. I don't know what to do!!! :-(

2 Weeks since the Explant...
Pretty much back to normal now, still taking it easy but other than that feel absolutely fine. Right breast is looking a lot more like my left so feeling more even now.
Having implants is a distant memory and I have yet to miss them. Am posting a pic of me taken last night.
As always, any questions, let me know :-)

Hi Samstars,
I'm really impressed that you decided to bite the bullet and have them out for good.
Unfortunately I don't have that luck as my implants were to re-construct my breasts so I have to have them replaced.
Just out of interest why did you decided for the BMI to do your explantation and not HMG?
I went for a scan last week and have confirmed intra and extra capsular rupture with silicone in the glands and nodes in my armpit. I have emailed HMG with all of the details from my hospital and they have said that they will be in touch soon to arrange a consultation with a surgeon for me (not sure how long this will be though so if anyone has any experience then let me know!)
It's sad that we have to go through all of this, but I am glad I am not the only one and that women are supporting each other.

Hi PIP Disaster, thank you for your comment.
A friend of mine led me to BMI, they are charging a reasonable rate and I had read very good reviews about Mr Toft (the surgeon) it is also local to where I live. I would have been eligible for free removal with HMG but I have lost all confidence in them and feel I would just be part of a long production line of women waiting to have them out. The care I received was second to none and although I am £3600 worse off, I would have happily paid this twice over.
Your implants sound like they are in a very similar state to what mine were. When I did call HMG for an appointment with a surgeon, I couldnt be seen for 8 weeks, that was just to see the surgeon, no idea how long I would have had to wait for the surgery.
My friend had PIP implants fitted by HMG, and had hers replaced on the same day as I had mine removed - she is really pleased with her results so am sure you will be just fine too.
It is such a worrying time but you will be fine, I hope this is helped, if you need any other info, please let me know.

Hi Samstars,
You r looking so good by now, I do have to say that all of us here look so much better after the explant and some of us look better with the explant results than pre implants too!
U didnt need implants atall, but after looking at your explant pics, I feel u look better than preimplants. Thats only my opinion.
Hope u r doing well otherwise.

Hi!
How are you getting on? I didnt see my breast for a week after my explant (they were bangaged) but I could see my skin through a hole and it was like crepe paper! Looked very sorry for themselves. They took a good 2 weeks to fluff up and now they are bigger than before I had implants. It just takes some time for your skin to bounce back!
I am wearing a Sloggi bra from John Lewis, really comfortable - I struggled to find a comfortable bra and this is by far the best one!

i notice your right brest is already dropping...this is great!!! you should ask your surgeon exact what he did..
You are looking fantastic. I also had partial capsule removal on one side and have two slightly different looking breasts but am focussing on the fact that the implants are out and I am much healthier for it. Take care.
Thank you - feel on top of the world.
The way I see it, my uneven boobs are a reminder that I have been through 2 operations and have been really brave. I love them :-) x

Day 6 Post Explant
Just to recap on my last update, was still high on anaesthetic when I wrote it so missed a few bits...
My left implant came out pretty much intact so did not need a capsulectomy, my right side had ruptured quite badly so need a capsulectomy. This has made me a little uneven as you will see from the pics I am about to post...
The care I reviewed was outstanding and would highly recommend the surgeon and hospital, if any of you want details, please let me know - not sure where we stand with "advertising" on here!
Had my bandages off today and had the big reveal. Am very pleased with the results, left breast in my opinion looks better than before the BA and the right does look a little sad but I dont think I know they will change over the next few weeks so not concerned.
I did love my big boobs but dont really feel any different without them, I havent missed them yet. Physically I look different, my shape has changed but thats inevitable, more incentive to shift some weight and get my body into proportion again!
My biggest concern pre-explant was how I would feel mentally, it took me a few hours to properly look at them. To be perfectly honest it really hasnt phased me, Its quite a big change for a female to go through, and I guess I'm surpised that it hasnt hit me harder. The last few weeks all I can think about is having them out and perhaps now any negative feelings I might have had are insignicant compared to the relief I feel. I am so thankful that I was able to have them out so quickly.
Am posting some picture now of pre-BA, post BA and post explant... also some lovely pictures of my implants!
If any of you reading this have any questions or need reassurance about explant, please get in touch, this site helped me so much and now I want to give back.
Thank you all for your support xxxxx

Hi, I think you def have made the right choice. U look great . This site is also helping me loads......I have saline implants, been in for 10 years, no issues apart from feeling very painful lately and I want them out and not replaced. I can't afford to keep having surgery and I want to just be me again. I have seen a couple of surgeons but there is quite a waiting list at the moment! Dr Richards is booked until May. I notice you live in Middlesex, this is my area also. When you're up to it could I have his details please? Thanks x
hi samstars,
well done for getting rid of those pip bombs, one got bombed out inside your breast!!!....but still im so happy for u, myself and every pip victim around for getting the toxics out, even if u rnt a pip victime,,,well done for getting them out.
My opinion, they look much much better now, take my word on it..... keep healing and keep updating to help others.

Hi....
I had the exact same thing happen to me and they are the same as you...after 10 month of surgery, my right breast remains looking good(as your left one), but the left one that had the capsulectomy is still a little high and pinched on the bottom. It has definitely improved but I was hoping it would have fallen down by now to be as low as the other...Have you had any improvements? what did your docter say about this?

Unicorn76, it was a big decision to get them and it's a big decision to get them out! Try to focus on the positive! Like no foreign / unnecessary objects in your body! No worries about future surgeries, etc! I even looked forward to hugging people with the thought in my head that the recipient could feel my implants...lol. Being explanted has given me the freedom to just enjoy life to the fullest without feeling fake/uncomfortable! Think about what is best for you overall........while I pray for your peace! It's coming!
Thank you for your support!!!
