I've wanted a Tummy tuck for 25 years ever since I birthed my last child. I am 5'5", 153 athletic build. I have yo-yo'd between 150 and 200 for past 25 years. I've dieted and worked out on and off but the loose belly remained. In May I started eating a whole diet, went gluten-free, dairy free, caffeine free and I am mostly vegetarian eating meat only twice a week. I started cycling 100+ miles a week and hitting the gym three additional days. I saw a great reduction in belly fat by my new way of eating but that darn lower belly is still loose. I decided it's time for my tummy tuck.

I did a bunch of research and visited 3 ps and before deciding on Dr. Jacob Freiman. I am very pleased with the care I received.

Drains removed on 10/17

I was so glad to have the drains removed. I felt so happy and comfortable for about 30 min until I had to put the girdle from hell on.

Girdle pros: I feel so secure and am able to stand up straight. It has taken away the low back pain that occurred from being hunched over.

Girdle con: Its so tight in my underarms and in my crotch it hurts/bites into my flesh (underarms are the worst). Its ugly. I can't wear the belly plate as it dig into my pubic mound when sitting and hurt too much. Plus it sits directly on top of my incision line that is still tender. My coordinator, Yadira, said I can wear it when my girdle becomes loose to tighten it up.

My body image has improved so incredibly. I just cannot believe how that loose flap on my belly made me see my WHOLE body as ugly and fat. I am so grateful. I do not regret this in the least bit. My belly is swollen, the girdle is uncomfortable, the incision stings a bit and I am emotional at times crying over the littlest thing but I would do/recommend doing this surgery a million times over.

IF this was the best my body could look I'd be happy. I KNOW that the swelling will subside and I will only love it more.

Thank you Dr. Frieman for bringing to the surface the image/memory of the body that I've been carrying in my mind for 26 years.

Thank you Yadira for all the support you have given through our calls.

Yadira is my surgical coordinator at CG Cosmetic Surgery, she is amazing. She spent so much time with me on the phone, answering multiple emails and text messages as well. She gave me information I needed not just what I wanted to hear. When I arrived for my pre surgical consultation she greeted me with a hug like a friend. Dr Freiman has a very warm friendly demeanor but also has an air of confidence that immediately put me at ease. He answered all my questions thoroughly, was very patient and professional. He even took time to discuss my possible future surgeries. On the day of surgery Dr. Freiman greeted me, marked me for surgery and answered more questions. He truly cares about his patients health and safety. He then turned me over to the anesthesiologist who was equally kind and friendly. He placed my IV and asked me to take a short walk with them down the hallway into the operating room. The OR looked as they all do but the table was super soft and comfortable. That really helped to relieve some nerves. Dr. Freiman was there the whole time that the anesthesiologist was prepping me. He spoke with me and was smiling down at me as I fell asleep. I really appreciated Dr. Freiman being there, other surgeries I have had the surgeon didn't show up during that prep period. I woke under Julie's care. She was very kind supplied many blankets kept me warm gave me my medicine and prepared me to go home. She escorted me all the way out to the car. She called me a few hours later and has given three follow-up call since surgery to check in on me. The only area of improvement would be for the intake nurses to be a bit more personable. To have the privacy and space to assist one patient at a time not 3 nurses working with 3 patients in a small room. To take the time to explain the paperwork that one is signing not just say sign these. However, I do understand I was in a group practice and there was a higher volume of patients but this intake process made me question the level of care I was to receive the rest of the time. I am very happy to report that that was the only flaw and the rest of the care was impeccable.
