Things On My Mind

Good Evening Dolls!

So, it's officially been 1 week since my surgery. I've managed to come a long way but I still have quite a way to go. I'm wearing my garment with 3 lipo pads, 1 board (on the abdomen), and the little football you place above the buttocks. It helps a lot with swelling and shaping. I look like a pregnant whale. Honestly, I thought the healing process would be a tad prettier. As a nurse, I should know better, I guess I thought I had some kind of immunity. Truth is, I have no superpowers. I am an ugly draining pregnant whale, lol.

Speaking of draining, I still have one draining site in the left lower quadrant of my abdomen. My BF has been doing the lymphatic massages and it really is such a huge help. Today, I took off my TEDS since I've been walking around, and I am now taking baby aspirin to prevent a DVT. I feel like things are coming together, but I have been known to be impatient, so I just want it all to happen at a faster rate (healing wise).

I can move around a lot more, and overall I am progressing. Today I was trying on my scrubs... I noticed my ass has gotten a little smaller, thank god. Although it does look full which I am happy about.

I'm glad to hear you're healing well. I have surgery with Dr. Omulepu in Nov 10th, I'm excited and scared but you're looking good. I'm an ED nurse myself, I was wondering if you had to shop for new scrubs? And how long did you wait before returning to work?
September 10, 2015
Hi and thank you! My old scrubs still fit but snug. I had bought larger ones just in case... Now I will be returning those. If you can, wait! At first you feel so heavy with the fluid shifts and drinking a lot of water, but now I'm really slimming down. I believe I'm a little smaller than what I was preoperatively. I was supposed to go back to work this week, however I could not. I'm not 100% well. And I can't expect to work with pts, when I can barely walk a good distance without grabbing at my stitches or feeling pain. I ended up seeing my PCP and she said I needed to give myself time to heal. I will be taking another two weeks off. So technically, I will go back to work almost one month post operatively. I was not prepared for that, it really caught me for a surprise...

Hey..how's it going? Are you still progressing & seeing the results that you'd hoped for? I scheduled for 9/25 & sooo nervous. My best friend has me freaking out saying that I shouldn't have it done bc of all the bad possibilities..blood clots, bad results, death. I'm a nervous wreck over here..help!

Hi, I'm wanting to schedule with Dr Osak and was wondering if your still seeing the results you want? Had the fat graft held up and not shrunk too much?

A Little Better

Hey Dolls,

I'm back home! Yay! The plane ride was absolutely crazy. Before I left, I got a massage at Spectrum, and it was so painful. But you need to have the lymphatic drainage massages, it's imperative to healing, especially when you do not have a drain. So I decided to treat myself to Starbucks coffee, and ended up peeing on the plane literally every 15-30 minutes for a 3 hr. plane ride. People thought I was pregnant, haha.

I also had a follow-up/post-op appointment with my doctor the day before I left. He was concerned about fluid build up in my abdomen. He recommended a board. Now girls, let me tell you about this board. It is an ancient torture device which is still in use today. Haha, actually I just made that up but I hate that board with a passion. I've had sleepless nights, painful days and nights, and complete frustration with it. I want to burn it. But enough about that because we all know, that I will do my best to wear it to prevent a seroma. ;)

I've also added pictures that were like 3 days post op. I am a little more swollen since my plane ride, so I'll hold off on adding some more recent pictures. I'll keep you all updated! But overall, I'm happy with my results. My ass a huge which terrifies me. I want to go back to work with a normal sized ass, nothing that says, "Hey, during my vacation I got Kim Kardashian's ass." You know? The doctor told me "That ain't going down." To which my response was, "I hope you'll visit me at Scandals." Joking aside, I did ask for something natural, and I do hope it goes down a lot. I can't be having a shelf. Indian girls don't have shelves.

So, this healing process is no joke. I just want to get this done and over with! I'm hoping the days move on by quickly.

P.S. I mastered peeing standing up! Oh yeah.... Except on the plane... :D

I'm scheduled for 9/25. What would you say the hArdest part about the surgery was? I'm so scared!!! How long should I prepare to be off work?
September 2, 2015
Oh, you look amazing!!!
September 4, 2015
Thank you! I think post-op day 1 was incredibly painful. I could barely move, I was screaming for hours. The pain was unbearable, but after I got through the first day (with a ton of help from my Mom), I could tolerate the pain. I drank a lot of fluids, water and pineapple juice. Walking around also helped a ton! I'm 1 week post-op today, and honestly I can't say when you should be prepared to go back to work. I go back to work next week, and I'm terrified. I am a nurse and I know it will be incredibly difficult for me to run around, lift and move patients and do things I normally would do with ease. I'll keep you updated on the healing process, just trying to keep it positive!

Technical Difficulties... Review Continued

letsdothis88
The only real problem that I have right now is pain control. It seems I need to take the Percocet q 4 hrs with Ibuprofen 1000mg to be able to ambulate, or move around. I've been drinking a ton of fluids (water and pineapple juice). But the pain is still there. I have to talk to the doctor about this. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night shivering if I don't take the Percocet on time. I don't like it.

So, I can't pee standing up. When I sit on the toilet urine gets to the back of my garment, and it's so difficult to clean up. I've tried, but I still can't get out the smell. I feel yucky.

I've uploaded some pictures of before the sx. I didn't want to post any current photos with the bloody garment because it looks like a murder scene and my vagina is swollen and hanging out. Not a good look. Anyway, I hope this was helpful.

Love,
Smelly Doll
