1 year out!

I haven't posted any pics in a long while, but it's been a year and I can def say my booty has fluffed out very well! I've been steady at 44".

3 weeks out

3 weeks out already! I'm pretty happy! I drove some more today, a little longer and it wasn't so bad. Also my butt had been getting softer. It's steady at 44". It started at 44.5, went to 43,5, and not its up to 44. I like that width, and I love how soft my hips are now. Still won't be sitting or sleeping on my butt yet; still too soon. Otherwise I'm feeling well. My skin is only itchy when I wear body contouring clothes without a garment. Otherwise I try to do my garment most hours of the day. I have a few update pictures. I might post some more after my massage tomorrow. Cheers!

Full review

It took me forever, but my experience in a nutshell:

I arrived at Miami the day before (Monday) and heading over to the office to pay, give them my medical clearance, and take pre-op pics. Dr. Ghurani's assistant Jessica was so sweet and helpful. And if it weren't for her, I may not have gotten squeezed into the Tuesday schedule so last minute! So after wards I went back to my hotel awaiting the next day. I had everything set up with Mary, the nurse from Elite Concierge RH. She would meet me at the airport (so I could drop off my rental) and then we'd drive to the office. Everything went off smoothly, she met me at 615a and we headed over. Btw, Dr. Ghurani has his own office, but it's on top of Spectrum, so he uses the facilities below. We were seen right away, Chrissy was Dr. Ghurani's MA and she was great too. We signed some papers, took some pics, and then waited for the doc. I spoke to the anesthesiologist first. He was cool at answering my basic questions (even though I was freaked out by the intubation part). Ghurani arrived around 8ish and I instantly liked him. We talked about what I wanted, he marked me up, and when everything was ready, we went to the OR. I continued to get reassurance from the staff that it was good I was the first case. I was still pretty nervous. And the real fear didn't come until they had me lie down. I remember the IV getting put in and the anesthesiologist telling me he would give me something to calm down (I was shaking and not because it was cold). And that's all I remember.

So then, I wake up on my stomach, in SERIOUS pain. I had an oxygen mask on, but I was so disoriented that I kept hyperventilating. The anesthesiologist gave me a [RS bleep] of something, but I asked him to please give me more pain meds. It took 2 rounds of Demerol to get the shaking to stop and for me to calm down. After I was moved to another bed that wasn't soiled. The nurse was very sweet. She gave me a box juice to drink, I just took one sip and really couldn't anymore. I was probably in recovery for like an hour after I woke up. The garment was already on me, thank god, so the nurse just helped my pit my dress on. She wheeled me to the parking lot where Mary was waiting and we drove back to the RH.

The first day was crappy, but as soon as we got to the RH, Mary made me some soup and gave me Gatorade and water. I think it helped a lot because it gave me a lot of energy. I actually started walking around the living room in circles. But eventually I took a 2 hour nap. By the time I woke up, my pain meds had arrived and dinner was ready. The first night was tough, I got heparin during the Sx and thought I was bleeding too much. I woke up in the middle of the night dizzy and freaking out, but Mary was there and was very understanding. She helped me change the soiled gauze beneath my garment, gave me more Gatorade, took my vitals and helped me back into bed. That first night was the scariest, but it only got better from there. As the days passed I regained a lot of my function and soon was getting out of the car at the same time as Mary.

Mary and the 305 elite nursing concierge RH were amazing. I had my own room with a full size bed and cable. There were meals 3 times a day, delicious I might add, and plenty of water and snacks. The other girls there were just as pleasant and I enjoyed my stay there.

In terms of my drains/stitches, I ended up seeing Dr. Ghurani on POD #3 (I had seen his MA the first 2 times). Technically 2 follow ups are all that's necessary, but Ghurani insisted I come in so he could see me himself before leaving, and I'm so glad I did. My back drain was pretty much dry on day 3, so he took that out. He took out all other random stitches that needed to be removed and he undid the stitches of my front drain to take out myself in a day or so (it was already draining before 50cc). I actually took it out POD #5 after I got off the plane and got home. It wasn't really draining anymore and I hated it so much that I knew it had to go. It felt good to finally get it out and start healing.

Although I'm now almost 3 weeks out and a little annoyed I can't quite sit, I'm glad my experience has been good so far. Between Dr. Ghurani, his staff, and Mary, I felt safe, comfortable, and reassured at all times. As far as massages, I got 2 lymphatic messages at the RH, and 2 back home. My masseuse was so impressed at how a little in pain I seemed to be during our sessions, and I was only 1 week out!

I haven't sat directly on my butt, but I've been using a half foam roller. I think I will start after 3 weeks, but only lightly and for short periods of time. If I don't like it, I'll go back to the roller. I drove yesterday with the roller and it wasn't all that bad. Probably because I'm a few weeks out now. I'll post a couple of pictures of my progress so far. I just can't wait until I no longer have to wear this garment, because let me tell you, it SUCKS in the summer, lol!
