My situation

So I left off with sleep... I kept trying to sleep off the pain and sleep my way to recovery. I would get up for meals, bathroom breaks and massages. I rarely got up just to walk around bc my head would throb and my heartbeat would pick up. My advice to you is - listen to your body. Everyone will tell you over and over that [RS bleep] is normal, but people don't know that until you've been properly checked out. Prior to surgery my hemoglobin was at 15.0. After surgery my hemoglobin dropped down to 6.7. I toughed it out for days bc everyone kept saying my symptoms were "normal". Finally, on day 5 I decided to go to the emergency bc I felt faint again and was still draining tons of fluid (that vanity said was normal). When I went to the hospital they pumped me full of fluids and I had to get a blood transfusion.. They said that my hemoglobin had dropped a significant amount and wasn't sure how I was walking around. I'm not saying everyone should worry that this will happen to them too, I'm just sharing my story and to be aware that it's not always "normal" bc they say it's normal. I ended up being in the ER for two nights, three days until I was back to normal. I missed my flight back home and had to redirect everything. It ended up costing me more money and just being an inconvenience all together. It's partly my fault for not going with my gut and just admitting myself to the hospital earlier.

Not that this helps anyone... But vanity should really have TRUE follow-up appointments that's checks patients hemoglobin after surgery to, at the very least, recommend what's needed to bring it up if levels are low. We're not physicians to know what to do if our hemoglobin is low.

I said it in a earlier post, and after my whole experience I can honestly say Vanity is a mess. They are unprofessional and have no clue how to run a cosmetic clinic properly. I'm not a professional on it, but I can certainly tell you that they're not. It's a shame that a doctor who gives results like Hasan is working at a place like Vanity.

Rant over for now.....

Sorry for the wait

So sorry for waiting so long before posting, but this has been a rough ride for me... I'm not sure where to begin...

Day of surgery I was the first patient so I was at vanity at ~5:15am and no one was around and all the lights were off. I walked in and sat around in the dark for about 10 minutes until someone walked in and told me to come back. A nurse asked me to undress and told me Dr. Hasan would be in shortly to "paint me" and take my pictures. Hasan came in and very briefly chatted with me to tell me what to expect (basically everything that could go wrong) but not to worry but those things weren't uncommon etc. He was very direct and to the point - not the funny guy I read about on here. His final question was what kind of booty did I want. I told him I wanted to stay conservative bc of what I do for a living - and that I just wanted my booty rounded out with a tiny waist. He said ok, finished drawing and said he would see me in the operating room. I can't say that he made me feel uncomfortable or anything, but with this being such a big surgery I wish he was a little more warming/comforting. The whole staff could use a little more warmth in the way they interact with their patients. Anyways, I had my big girl pants on that day and knew what I was getting myself into. I went to Hasan for his results not his bedside manner. So next I went to the operating room where I met the anesthesiologist who was nice and gentle with me. He chatted with me a little bit and told me I was about to go to sleep.. Before I knew it I was out.

Waking up.... Damn. My advice to everyone is to BREATHE - JUST BREATHE. You will wake up shaking like hell. I had to take deep breaths and tell myself I was going to be ok. They had me in a room full of other girls on beds that just came out of surgery. Don't freak out bc there will be other girls in there crying and calling for a nurse, but there's nothing to worry about. Honestly, you all just woke up from surgery!! You have to mentally prepare yourself before you go under to remember that when you wake up you will be fine. Just make sure to have someone on standby to be ready to take you to your destination so you don't have to stay in that room any longer than you have to. My ride was there and I went straight to my RH, took my pain meds and passed out. I took my pain meds every 4 hours as recommended to stay ahead of the pain and just slept as much as possible. Sleep is easy the first day out.

The next day, unfortunately, I had a reaction to either the anesthesia or the pains meds bc I woke up and my face was SUPER SWOLLEN. It was time for my follow up appointment so I wanted to meet with Hasan to see what was up. Luckily he only had one surgery that day (my sister), so he agreed to meet with me after she was out. First thing when I got there I met with his assistant Keyla to get my pads changed out - then I went back to the back area to wait for my sister to get out of surgery. When she came out we were about to load her up in the car and all of the sudden I got super light headed and started seeing black spots everywhere... I was about to go down! Luckily my mom, a "nurse" and our RH lady was there... They moved my poor sister from the wheel chair, put me on there and wheeled me back in the clinic. Once I was in there Hasan and his anesthesiologist came in to see me. They said "it's normal" and they're not sure exactly what I had an allergic reaction to so they gave me Benadryl to help the swelling in my face go down. I laid down on one of the beds for a few minutes and then left bc it didn't seem there was much else they could do or was willing to do. I got back to the recovery home and started taking Tylenol 3 for my pain and slept pretty much the rest of the day. Day 1 and 2 I didn't have much trouble sleeping at all. Day 3 and on is when the trouble with sleep comes and boy does it suck! 30 minutes here, maybe an hour here and two hours at the most at night. I left the tv on bc I knew I'd wake up after a little while anyways. I'm not a tummy sleeper in the first place so I was over it real quick. My jaw was/is sore from having to lay on my face so much.

That's all I have for now... About to have a visitor but will try and post more tonight.
