So glad you did your arms! And, great news that you have no pain. You'll find each day to be a different experience as sensation returns. It is worth it all!

Good luck on your upcoming surgery - I will be following shortly :) I am a little scared about all the swelling everyone is talking about. I am having arms done on 4/15 and extended tummy tuck on 5/20. I am very excited - The dr I picked will not do them together : ( but I guess health wise thats a good thing but I want to be "done" I am going to wait after the TT to schedule a breast lift and possible thigh lift if needed. I am glad there are so many people on here going thru the same thing - makes it much less scary.

Thanks .... :) dont be ...you will be fine

Does anybody know if with arm lift surgery you swell up your whole body as well? I am so swollen from my tt its not eveen funny !!! I gained over 15 ibs and im 1 week post op
gaylebco 12 Mar 2013
I didn't think you got your arms done? But with the statments you made about blood loss, they probably filled you with IV fluid during surgery which makes you gain weight and swell up all over. When i got my arms done i gained a little weight from fliuds and both my arms were very swollen.
GeGe82v 12 Mar 2013
Jesus! I gained over 15 ibs with bbl and tt and i want to schedule my arms for after the 20th of this month im going to look like a monster if i gain another 15

Hi, be glad that the doctor waited because of your blood loss. These are major surgeries and need extreme caution. I had my arms and breasts done at one time. The swelling I had was mostly in my left arm and it was worse if I tried to wear the arm/breast compression garment I had purchased. I ended up returning the combo and just got a breast compression. I have had no repercussion because of not wearing the arm compression. Swelling was also worse at night. Just a reminder to rest, rest and rest, drink lots of fluids, walk a little bit and rest. LOL I also had a lower body lift 2 weeks after the arm/breast surgery. My ankles were swollen and of course my abdomen was also swollen. I would suggest not weighing yourself. You are still full of fluid from surgery and your body is working hard to heal. Just take care of yourself for a couple of weeks and then weigh. I know it's hard not to want to because we think, at least I did, the surgeon removed so much skin that we have to lose weight! I weighed myself early on and put on the pants that I'd always worn and was discouraged that I was the same weight and my pants fit. Now, after nearly 3 months post op, I have gone down a pant size and am 8 pounds lighter and at my goal weight. Hang in there and be patient. You'll be great! Oh, and when you do get your arms done it'll be a breeze (hopefully!) as mine were. Take care!

Oh, and about the placement of the arm scars...I wasn't given a choice either and thank goodness for that! My PS knew exactly where he would make the incision. If you look at my pictures, the scars are not visible from front or back when my arms are at my sides. In the nearly 4 months since surgery the scars have really thinned out and are fading.
GeGe82v 19 Mar 2013
Thats great :) thnx ... Your 3 months on your arms... How is your scar??? Can you already wear sleveless shirts...?
GeGe82v 19 Mar 2013
Oh sorry didnt see this comment ...
GeGe82v 19 Mar 2013
Wow your results are amazing!! What did u use on your scar?
1LoLo1 21 Mar 2013
GeGe82v- Thanks! My scars are doing great. I use Mederma Advanced Scar Gel on them 1x daily. I live in IL so no short sleeves for me yet. Still waiting on Spring! That's a whole other topic...Anyway, I have shopped for some cute sleeveless shirts and by the time the weather allows my scars will be so much better. I admit, I'm a bit nervous but after the first time I'm hoping it'll be OK. You know, I was so used to holding my arms just right so that the sag wasn't as bad so if I position my arms closer to my body the scars won't even show. It's the bathing suit I'm worried about. = 0
gaylebco 5 Mar 2013
Awww I'm so sorry you were not able to have them done. I'm sure they did the right thing for your health. How are you feeling elsewise?
GeGe82v 5 Mar 2013
Im actually pretty good thanks considering ive never even had a broken finger but im taking 2 viccodins every 3 hours i really dont know how people take 1 every 6 hours ... Crazy i tried to wait a lil longer and pain was starting to kick in so i just took it cause once pain starts its harder to go away
gaylebco 5 Mar 2013
It is something nurses swear by, stay on top of the pain. Trying to get at it after its bad is much harder.
