I am a 40 year old mother of four children who are 13, 11, 6 and 2. I have always weighed 120 lbs and have always got back to this weight after babies. The problem is my babies were born big - 9 lbs, 10 lb 4 , 9 lb 10 and then finally an 11 lb bubs!!! I am sure you can imagine the damage these little treasures have done to my muscles and my skin!!!!!!!
My baby turned two yesterday and I'm scheduled for surgery on the 4 th March. I will be in hospital for 4 nights and then have my Mum and husband to help when I'm at home.
This is the best site! I have been reading it for ages and your stories have been a great source of information for me whilst also being reassuring that everything I'm feeling is normal.
I have Von Willebrand disease so am going to hospital early to receive clotting factor prior to surgery. I am so nervous but excited at the same time.
Thanks to everyone on this site for a sharing your amazing stories x

I have to admit there have been times this week when i have wondered what on earth i was doing putting myself through this! After seeing the pics i am sure you will agree the pain is worth it.
I was fortunate enough to have four days in hospital, drains out day 4 and have a very supportive family and great friends who are helping me out. My tummy feels like i have been beaten by a boxer but i am only requiring paracetemol for pain management.
Good luck to all who are recovering and to those about to

Great review?
It has just changed from summer to autumn here but it is 88 degrees today- just beautiful. Shame I'm not quite bathing suit ready yet!!!!!
All the best for your procedure. I too had separation of muscle and a hernia above belly button. I had them all repaired and one pound of skin removed.
Hey there it is already the 10 th here, so by my calculations you go in tomorrow! Yay!!!! All the best for your procedure. You have worked so hard , your body is going to look amazing. You must be excited!
Take care. Your high level of fitness will be a great benefit with your recovery. Keep us posted :)
My scar is a little higher than I would have liked but I am seeing PS today so will discuss whether this is owing to swelling or whether given how wrinkled I was up high ,he couldn't do much else. Can't have everything and hey I haven't worn a teeni tiny bikini in years anyway so maybe a Higher cut one will be my preferred choice.
At least I can now wear my running and gym gear without the excess skin being tucked in!
Not being able to exercise is excrucitingally painful but I keep reminding myself this is temporary. Once again all the best tomorrow:)
