I am a 40 year old mother of four children who are 13, 11, 6 and 2. I have always weighed 120 lbs and have always got back to this weight after babies. The problem is my babies were born big - 9 lbs, 10 lb 4 , 9 lb 10 and then finally an 11 lb bubs!!! I am sure you can imagine the damage these little treasures have done to my muscles and my skin!!!!!!!

My baby turned two yesterday and I'm scheduled for surgery on the 4 th March. I will be in hospital for 4 nights and then have my Mum and husband to help when I'm at home.

This is the best site! I have been reading it for ages and your stories have been a great source of information for me whilst also being reassuring that everything I'm feeling is normal.

I have Von Willebrand disease so am going to hospital early to receive clotting factor prior to surgery. I am so nervous but excited at the same time.

Thanks to everyone on this site for a sharing your amazing stories x

ok so I am 6 days post op and thought i would share some pics with you all.
I have to admit there have been times this week when i have wondered what on earth i was doing putting myself through this! After seeing the pics i am sure you will agree the pain is worth it.
I was fortunate enough to have four days in hospital, drains out day 4 and have a very supportive family and great friends who are helping me out. My tummy feels like i have been beaten by a boxer but i am only requiring paracetemol for pain management.
Good luck to all who are recovering and to those about to

Hi Lisa,

That is cute...Little Treasures!  Love it...

I think it's wonderful that you are able to in the hospital for 4 days.  This surgery in the states is pretty much drive through.

Wow that is next week already; how exciting.  I will be watching for your posts and pictures after surgery.  Keep us up to date on your progress.

Thanks Kimmers,
I have been thoroughly enjoying reading all of your tips and have had a good laugh at many of your stories!
I am so busy with my children that it has been great to keep my mind off the fact my surgery is coming up so quickly.
Will post before and after pics and give a report on my surgery once it's done.
Will also be watching everyones posts who are getting their TT 's in the next week.
Love this site!!!!!!!

Lisa40 3 Mar 2011
Thanks! I see your tt is at the end of the month. You too had big babies so you know only too well the damage it causes! Good luck with your procedure. I will keep updating as I go through my tt journey .

All done! Yay! Am in hospital. Not painful just sore. The worst part for me was the nausea and vomiting from morphine and anesthetic but now have that under control and feeling much more human again. I am also moving around quite well and am standing relatively straight.
Thanks for your well wishes. Will keep you posted.

I hope i all went well for you! Good luck with your recovery....
Was much of your fee covered by Medicare? I'm in Adelaide and I've heard you can get it covered ( the nurse told me that in Recovery after having my twins!)
I'd love to do it but my husband is really against it...and I'm so torn with the 'what if something went wrong' factor and having young kids.
Look forward to seeing your results, take care!
Lisa40 4 Mar 2011
My surgeons fee was $5000 but he has put it down as a medical procedure so it has an item number and I will get a fair bit back. I'll claim this when I'm out so I will let you know. I bet twins have down a number on your skin too!
Will keep you posted.
caldo 4 Mar 2011
Glad you're doing ok....Can't wait to see your results. Enjoy your 'break' in hospital. I like that fact we get a few days in hospital in Australia for this type of surgery...I can't imagine gong home the same day.
Yes the twin have totally trashed my skin and the fact I am 33kgs (72 lbs) lighter now than the day I delivered them doesn't help either! My tummy looks a lots like yours. Take care!
3boys 1princess 4 Mar 2011
So glad to hear you are doing well! Sucks about the vomiting. I worry about that too.
Keep us posted and take care!
Lisa40 4 Mar 2011
Thanks for caring. Yes the vomiting wasn't good but I am now on phenergan and endone and feel really quite good. Will keep you posted. How long til your tt now?
Lisa40 4 Mar 2011
I haven't seen yet. Still have the dressings on but have been told ps took 1pound of skin off so am hoping result will be good! I am too scared to look!!!!
3boys 1princess 4 Mar 2011
