Thank you Dr. Freedman! You have again provided...

Thank you Dr. Freedman! You have again provided me with results that exceeded my expectations. To let readers know, Dr. Freedman has performed eyelid surgery on me in May 2015 under local anesthesia. In all honesty, it was a scary decision for me to make, but Dr. Freedman and his staff had already secured my trust and belief in their dedication and skill when I first came to him to perform my mid-face lift in October 2014, which was performed under general anesthesia.

I want to let people know that, in my experience, Dr. Freedman provides results that will support personnel goals and objectives with natural results. As my results show, he has a skilled surgical talent backed by his board-certified plastic surgeon certification, current knowledge-base, extensive 25-year plus experience, an exceptional surgical team and office staff. People should know that from the moment you walk in the door for a consultation you are greeted by a kind and professional staff to the last day of your follow-up visit where you feel as though you have known each of them for a long time. Dr. Freedman and his staff are kind in heart and professional and skilled at their specific jobs, which has made an environment that is trusting and comfortable in making it possible for me to make decisions that are right for me!

I think it is so important for readers to know that Dr. Freedman is very informative and shows patience in answering all questions in an understandable straightforward and kind manner without any pressure. It seems to me to be especially important because this surgery is elective and the choice feels like an immense responsibility on me to make a well-informed and right decision for me.

Surgery from the Patient Perspective:

I thought I would share what I experienced from the eyelid surgery. It starts a couple weeks prior to your surgery when you are provided medication prescriptions to get filled prior to your surgical date. You take the filled perscriptions with you on the day of surgery. In the office the morning of your surgery you will be asked to take your medication about an hour prior to the surgery. By the time you are in the surgical suite you really are relaxed...much to my surprise in all honesty.

Unlike my mid-face lift performed under general anesthesia, the eyelid surgery was performed under local anesthesia. The anesthesia is delivered by a needle that quite frankly was the most challenging part of the surgery and the recovery combined. However, it is very doable even if you're nervous about such things...I was, and they are careful to minimize your discomfort successfully.

During the surgery you can feel small tugs, but you honestly have no pain! Time is much distorted, but to your surprise...it's over and you're escorted to a room where you can sleep off the medication for a couple hours. I was thirsty and they keep making sure you have enough water to drink and check in with you routinely to see how you are doing.

You'll need to have someone you trust get you back home since your vision will be too blurry to drive. They needed to convince me of that part...I was sure I could drive...not! This is caused by the lubricant put in your eyes for the surgery and the surgical steri strips put on your eyelids over the incisions for the healing process. You are given pain medication, which you brought with you.

At home I took the antibiotics as instructed and only took half a pain pill as a precaution to mitigate pain that night before I went to sleep...however, I never had any pain post-surgery! Never took another pain pill! I saw Dr. Freedman in a couple days post-surgery and met with Elizabeth, his nurse and him to remove the sutures. Oh BTW, don't trim the sutures! Dah...it made it a challenge for them to pull the sutures out.

I had some minor swelling and bruising for about a week that I covered with Bare Minerals makeup. I stayed out of the sun as instructed and wore sunglasses when I did go outside to protect my eyes. I'm now out two weeks and I think I look great (one of the few times you get to say that about yourself without sounding smug…LOL)!! It was sooooooo worth it!!

Dr. Bruce Freedman is a skilled surgeon with a professional staff that provided me results that more than met my expectations. This is the second procedure that he has performed for me and both equally fabulous! I am a very satisfied patient who will look to him again if I decide to have any other cosmetic surgery performed.
