It will be 4 weeks tomorrow since the procedure:) still a bit sore on the sides. Quick question, real self ladies, how long did it take before you felt like your sides were "normal"/not tender? :) Also! How long before your belly button healed?? Mine is still not normal/dry so still wearing the band-aid over it/changing it out. I can't wait til I feel like I'm done with sore sides etc. will post a pic soon. Since it'll be 4 weeks, I should be able to get back to exercising as well...

So day 5 post-surgery...drains are still in, doc...
So day 5 post-surgery...drains are still in, doc has been great, he actually stopped by on Saturday to check on me. Was good for hubby to be able to ask questions since he was against surgery.
Still taking pain meds...Also had a fever on Sat when dr Benjamin stopped by so he prescribed an anti-biotic. Other than that, said everything looked good. Drains still in but will post a pic later. I've had to become mobile + active much sooner than I would have liked but didn't have a choice. Continue to hear lectures from hubby about why it was a bad idea and how I put extra pressure on him since he has to drop the kids in daycare(I usually drop and he picks up) and pick up plus I can't really carry the 7 month old. It'll be fine eventually by Gods grace just have to tough it out. I'm supp to be back at work on the 22nd so have to soldier through this.
Alright real self fam, stay tuned for pics!

Thanks never too late!
MO2gals, you know how men are. They can not do the job us women can do when it comes to taking care of the kids. He will soon come around. Feel better hun!!
Lol so true!re:men...to be fair, he has been under a bit of pressure because I came down with shingles Easter weekend, of all things! I'm 35 so to have shingles was loco then I left for a conference in Florida and had surgery the very day after I returned...my mom came to help him while I was away but I guess he's still bitter about the timing of everything. #he'llcomearound :) fingers crossed
ooooo... i see! Yea hopefully he will look at the brighter side of things.
I can't wait to see your after pics....your belly looks a lot like mine. I'm sorry to hear you have no support system. Sending prayers for strength and healing your way!
Just posted 2 that I took...drains + garment=still on but hopefully a gd preview! Getting excited. Thx for the prayers!
Congratulations on your surgery I hope you feel like I do a new women! and ladies dont let the men off that easy because they can take care of the kids just like us . my husband was not always this supportive and helpful with the kids but is he is now a mister mom. i would not have believed it if it didnt happen to me! so my prayer is that if God changed my husband he will change yours. Just keep speaking life into that situation and give the situation to God. and remember you just had major surgery so take it easy. you dont want to complicate anything. so i speak a speedy recovery to you .
wow you look really great!!! Your making me so excited to get mine done!!
Wow! The after pics look fabulous! I can't wait to see more:) I hope you are feeling well and that you have a great recovery. As far as your husband goes...tell him that you had to carry the children for nine months each, by yourself, so If he's worried about things being equal, then he has to do a lot more than a little extra for a few weeks!
LOL!! I like that.
well said!
Ha ha well said, Zabette!
You look terrific! I go back to work tomorrow, 12 days post op as you are planning to do. I wish I could say that I'm back to 90%. But I can't. And I still have drains. No idea how I am going to hide them. Super chunky sweaters and fat pants I guess. But I know that in the end, we will all be thrilled with the eventual outcomes. I hope your husband gets on board sooner rather than later. That seems a little unfair to have to deal with that on top of recovery!!
Which reminds me, thank my husband again when he gets back from posting the tax returns. He took 6 days off work and has taken care of our 3 girls for the past 11 days. I really could not have done this without him. You must be very very strong.
Thank you! wow, let me know how you handle going back to work with the drains! I second that: chunky sweaters; fat pants/maternity wear may have to be your go-to.i really do hope I'm thrilled so I don't regret going through all this! Wish I could fast forward:)
