quick 3 month update

Looking better in clothes- will certainly never be a bikini model, but I am able to pick clothes that I like, rather then ones that hide my stomach. Best money ive spent in a long time!!!

Before And After Photos

Obviously, I still need that tummy tuck! Still hoping for shrinkage and tightness!

Wanted lipo for a while now, but was to...

Wanted lipo for a while now, but was to intimidated due to my age , and bad past cosmetic surgery experiences (botched boob lift). It wasn't till I read an article that related belly fat in women over 40 (Im 48) to heart disease. That seemed like a logic conclusion. I chose doctor Chasin, because he's five star, great personality and I know two others that used him for this procedure.

Once booked I was very excited to get rid of my budda belly and much too voluptuous hips. Doctor Chasin is very honest and straight to the point. After seeing my belly, he confirmed that I have awful stretched skin from previous pregnancies, and he doubted that I would tighten like the average person. However I would get rid of the fat. We discussed phase two as a mini tummy tuck because my stomach had 20 lbs of skin on it - no joke!!! Regardless, I didn't want the bulge and even if I had to tuck in sagging empty skin into my panties, it was better then what I had! Even on the day of surgery he reiterated my issues and gave me a choice - leave about an inch of fat inside to help support the skin or just take all the fat out knowing it would sag. I opted for the second . I'm aware IL never pose for [RS bleep] or even wear a bikini unless I do the tummy tuck and cut that skin - oh well.....im 48, married and so ok with that.

Day of surgery

Forgot to say that I decided to surgery in NJ, where I am for the summer - extending my visit. I'm a Florida resident . With that being said, I have a limited wardrobe and could not find a tube dress in any store since fall is here. And of course I did it last minute or I would have ordered online. But my doctors recommended it for easy access after the surgery. I ended up bringing pajama pants which worked fine.
September 17, I Woke up at 5 am to be there at 7. I was instructed to shower with hybercleanse prior to arrival. I shaved the day before, and cleaned the entire surgery area with hydrogen peroxide to be extra cautious. I was instructed to eat breakfast but my nerves starting kicking in and I had no appetite; furthermore, I started regretting my decision to move forward. I cant even count the amount of times that I went to the bathroom. Started worrying that I had caught a stomach bug. My husband drove me to reflections and once there after speaking to the nurses, I felt somewhat at ease. They photographed me, and explained aftercare, then gave me ativan and vicodon. I remember not liking viodon. I'm super sensitive to drugs and this one in particular makes me feel drugged but jittery as well.
Dr. Chasin came in and started to mark me up. He has awesome bedside manner and is easy and comfortable to be around. Before I went into the surgery room, when they were ready to give me my second dose, I opted out for the vicodon and just took the other ativan. I also requested no epinephrine in the numbing solution (that also makes me feel nervous )

The first thing they did was sterilize my body with something like iodine - not sure, but I felt cold until it dried, then they proceeded with numbing the areas. Honestly, there was no pain involved. Needles were tiny and having blood taken is far more painful.

Once numb Dr. Chasin began his work. He told me everything he was doing, although I cant recall some of it, I do remember him showing me my fat from my love handles as it was being sucked throug a transparent tube - it looked like mini popcorn. He pointed out that there was absolutely no blood. I was able to feel him moving instruments back and forth, but it didn't hurt. He got to one area where I felt pain and stopped immediately and injected more lidocaine. But it wasn't that bad at all. When he got to the rib are and hips I was ticklish. Sooner then I expected (2 hours later) we were done. Seriously, all this worrying for nothing - it was a walk in the park! Being cold before and after the procedure was the worst it got. There is certainly skill in that aspect. Hopefully when I see the results I will be just as elated!

Another staff member bandaged me up and begged me to eat . I ate a granola bar to appease her and I was on my way back home.

When I arrived , my husband and his assistant (she has used Dr. Chasin before too) tried to pamper me and get me to rest. The office told me they wanted me to move around as much as possible, so I made dog food (lentils, brown rice, kale and chicken) , then a beef barley soup that took 2 hours to prep and cook. Due to the restriction of my garment which definitely suppressed my appetite, I also felt bloated after one bowl. Towards night time I felt some minor pains that resembled menstrual like cramps, although due to a hysterectomy years ago I haven't had a period in a long time. They were bearable and not enough to warrant any pain meds. I sat down around 6 pm and they went away from resting.

DAY 1 -POST OP

HMMMM, waiting for the pain to set in???? - is this like exercise , or a tetanus shot, where you feel the pain on day 3? I'm concerned that maybe not enough fat was removed, because I should be feeling something by now. I was able to sleep on my belly last night and maneuver my body easily. The body wrap isn't as tight as I thought it would be either. Its bearable- but again its only day one. Is D day on its way?? I have not taken any pain meds or even Tylenol as of yet.

What I did to prepare for this procedure was as holistic as possible, I juiced with dandelion and pineapple and I also took arnica, vitamin c, digestive enzymes and probiotics. I also went to a local gym and signed up for a one month membership to utilize their power plate (I have one back home in fla). The reason for doing so was to drain my lymphatic system by sitting on the vibration plate and stand on it to increase my circulation prior to lipo. I also took some inhales of my oxygen in a can right after surgery to get more into my system for healing. (athletes due this prior to competition).

Day FOUR
Day four began with a post op. Doctor seemed very happy and surprised about my quick recovery. I know many people aren't on the bandwagon regarding holistic, however, I do attribute the following things to my rapid recovery - teasle root,& horsetail extract, ginger, turmeric and bromelain pills, arnica as well recommended, glutathione, and prior to surgery LOTS of vitamin c, and a vibration plate to get my circulation working to a maximum level. I feel great although there is some swelling, but he tells me he anticipated much more as he removed 4 liters. Unfortunately, I do not see the results I would anticipate with that amount although I do see a minimal difference. I was told "you aint seen nothing yet", by the nurse. Im pumped! With great anticipation for a new body I started working out again. Did a 1/2 mile walk uphill, which was very hard due to the extra weight in my belly. The feeling reminded me of pregnancy - weight your body is not accustomed too.

Day 5

Swelling still the same. Went to a cryrotherapy chamber to help with inflammation. Definitely felt a difference, but need to keep it up. Worked out at the gym and im sure that causes more swelling then normal. I feel like I have an alien living in my stomach - like weight I've never felt before. I'm just so anxious to have a figure again, the waiting game is killing me!

DAY 7

Definitely see a difference, jeans loose, but swelling rather a lot today because I walked in nyc in high heels for too long. wearing the heals shifted my body weight forward and I even developed hemorrhoids from the weight. Very similar feeling to pregnancy around my fifth month when the weight hit me all at once.

I also wanted to add that the cryrotherapy on day 5 was a success - saw the most improvement on the morning of day 6. If I lived closer to the place id do it everyday! They use this technique and have for many decades on athletes with injuries and have them in Japanese hospitals ( Just google cryrotherapy chamber in your neighborhood...btw- they also speed up metabolism and claim to burn 800 calories in the brief 2 minutes that you are inside.

DAY !)
Have a large stone like mass under left rib, able to soften and shrink it with rigid massage and vibrator. It seems to come back after walking around and being active. Im Having a difficulty time working out and walking long distances. Seems as though my hips tire out and ache due to extra weight? Not sure why? Definitely improvement in the reduction of size but wondering and hoping that if IL get more shrinkage as it seems as though my fat is condensed to my belly , just a smaller form of the fat older me. In many of the reviews and photos it appeared that the results by day 7 were similar to the outcome in 6 months - just more tightening rather then volume loss in the later ??? Doctor said he removed all my fat, so im wondering probably prematurely why I still have a noticeable pouch????? Without a doubt, I look a thousand times better, am I being to greedy?

Working on pulling photos out of my phone - stay tuned!

Dr. Chasin is a very kind, gentle straight forward doctor. Hes honest about expectations and not hesitant to answer any questions. His skill with lipo is incredible , not sure many can match his talent! His staff is truly a reflection of his professionalism as well.
