Posted 9 May 2011

I am a 32 year old mother of 3, 13 yr old, 9 year old, and 18 month old. I had my first child at 18 second at 21 and last at 30 I have always been heavy heaviest being 298 I had gastric bypass Feb 2007 lowest weight 193 had baby pre preg weight 206 and now fluctuate from 212 to 215.

I am fine with the weight, i work out regularly and would say i am in shape still working on eating a little more healthy, considering my portion control is already in place.

I am done having kids, tubes tied and i would like to have all of this excess skin removed. Though i have hips thighs and some flab on the arms I am satisfied; confidence has never been a problem area for me but I am sooo excited about this!

okay i am finally able to post, the pain is ok it is hard if u r coming down from the meds, the incisions are killin me when i have to get up and go to the bathroom. my mom bought me a toilet riser good thing cause today i need it. i am passing gas, taking stool softners and gas x each time i take percocet. this is an adventure itell u that i didnt have c sections but i give yall props cause this aint no joke! my best friend is doing a great job caringfor me. i had a low grade fever but after sitting up more and sleep it went away. the doctor removed five and half pounds of fat/skin, i think i will be impressed! many are saying they can tell already! i cant and i cant fig out why my pics wont upload. ill post moreaboutthe step by step later

Updated on 22 May 2011:
I am doing better, accidentally going longer without percocet, i am taking tylenol in between but went to bed at 11 and just woke up at 6 was in a good amount of pain. i think my binder shifts at nite so it puts alot of pressure on the incision, i am resting from it rite now will put it on in a minute. if i didnt have my best friend it would not be easy. i am also finding my left tube which is where more of the bruising and incision pain is having some clotting. Anyone experience this? i am gassy taking gas x stool softner and yesterday i took laxative so we shall see. I am going back to sleep, still dont regret it!

Updated on 23 May 2011:
Today is a good day! i just went to bathroom by myself, the evenings are worse i was able to go sit in the living room for dinner last nite. My poor kids, i missed my daughter's field day today never have and it hurts :(. My 18month old wont deal with me because of plugs and my 13 year old keeps checking on me he is a momma's boy though. Lots of support from friends and fam, good thing cause you need it. Im standing pretty good showering like a champ feeling alot of gas, passing alot too ready for a bm. really need to wash my hair need a pedicure and a wax! i guess ill be waiting. I am bonding with water! i called dr tubes were dripping but it was because swelling was going down he said liquid i was describing was seroma and all was well. I go in thursday almost a week already cant wait til my bf comes home for r and r so i can share this experience.

Updated on 8 Jun 2011:
19 days po; overall feel good back to work I know that i am contributing to my swelling not going down but gotta mke the money. i am takin it easy and drinking water. Be glad when flat is flat!

Updated on 13 Jun 2011:
Went to my dr appt was supposed to be Friday for my 4 weeks po but i had a lil something going on with my incision; i thought it was infected but he said it was a result of a stitches poking out he took off the skin and took out stitch. he thinks all is well said swelling is good since two weeks ago and that even though i have shrek and fiona i'd be suprised how good I look compared to some patients at my stage. I received another binder but still cant work out so walkin here i come!

Updated on 21 Jun 2011:
5 weeks po in a couple of days and I am doing great. I did my first real walk workout today and i do see why we are limited initially it was not easy. Still swollen but it is going down. i need to find me a GOOD binder im tired of the dr ones and dont like the thigh pull up on cause it is ruff but due to the lower swellin i think it is in my best interest to keep wearing it at least throughout the day; any suggestions for binders that are not ridiculously expensive?

Updated on 23 Jun 2011:
i am starting to see the shape! my ps said i am still to wear a binder during the day and only can walk but ill take that. I have a slit in incision and if it dont close by next friday gotta go in. still aint weighed self wont until like september!

Good luck with your surgery! Only 9 days to go!! Congrats, your going to love your results.
Chyck 10 May 2011
Thanks! Do u have any advice for me?
Rancho Santa Fe3012 11 May 2011
Hey Gurl! Congrats on taking this step. I am with Kimmers25. I can't stress enough how important it is to have care lined up for your kids. I have a six year old and an 11 month old and was under the impression that I would be back to tending to them and the house in two weeks. Ha, What a joke! And besides that, Neosporin works wonders with the discomfort and swelling that the drainage tubes and pain pump tubing will bring about.

Best Wishes!
Chyck 11 May 2011
Thanks, i have a pretty huge support system, my bf is deployed but i am hopin everyone else will help out i plan to chillax and let the healing process take place. I am not having a pain pump but i went to preop today was told i will be having ALOT of lipo so to expect alot of bruising, He seems to think I will be happy of the results, do you have before and after pics? Did you stay over nite or go home? I want to go home!
Rancho Santa Fe3012 11 May 2011
Can you give me your email address and I can send you my before and after pics. I didn't put a review up on the site yet ;-(.You are going to blow your bf's mind when he comes back!!! What branch is he? My husband is a Marine. Since you're not going to have a pain pump to help you in regulating your pain PLEASE make sure you stay up on your pain meds. Your doctor is right. That lipo is going to cause bruising, swelling, and pain. my doctor offered me a med called Syneech (I know I probally spelled that wrong and the box is downstairs). It helped with he swelling and bruising. I went home after my surgery. You have to stay overnight?
Chyck 11 May 2011

{edited} He is in the Army. No i dont have to stay overnite if all goes well. My dr didnt offer a pain pump. did you get lipo? i was given perocet; i had the rougyen y gastric bypass Feb 07 and then my daughter Nov 09 and the body just went every way but right! he said my incision will go pretty far back, how long was your surgery, do u know where i can buy more compressing garments?

{By Britt, please PM user for Info. Thanks}
sommiebreezie 11 May 2011
Hey...question for you on your comment about bruising and swelling after lipo...Im gettin my flanks done along with a TT, does the Syneech help with the swelling ...is that why that was prescribed? Have you noticed your recovery to be significantly quicker than most?
Rancho Santa Fe3012 11 May 2011
Lol... I understand completely. Having children does crazy things to your body. I sent you the pics. I didn't have to buy a compression garment. The surgery center put one on me before I left after the procedure and the doctor gave me a sencond one at my first post op visit. Honestly, I wasn't overly concerned with the scar as long as it ran along my bikini line. My doctor did a fabolous job of having the scar go along the natural contour of my body. He told me that one end of the scar may be longer and therefore unsymectrical because my stomach wasn't symectrical. (he also did hernia repair) So at that point it was either have a even scar and lopsided stomach or an uneven scar and a symectrical stomach. Needless to say, I opted for the uneven scar. I got lipo on my flanks.

Oh, get some cough drops. It is going to hurt like crap to cough, laugh, or sneeze. If and when you get the urge to cough (rather it be something went down your windpipe or you feel a tickle in your throat) you aren't going to be able to fufill the sensation to cough your lungs up as you normally would. The cough drops help a bunch.
sommiebreezie 11 May 2011
Yeah...I would have takin the uneven scar. Im actually really stoked about all this, Ill have to send you pics of my tummy before. I had tumors when I was 11 and I have; what everyone seems to think is a C-section scar...but its just a narley ugly tumor scar. LOL So after I had my kid I have a baby kangaroo pouch right above the scar, HATES it...oh and not to mention the hundreds of stretch marks (lovely) hehe. I hope my doc gives me extra garments. How long till you could shower? Or bigger question, how long till you could stand up right?
Rancho Santa Fe3012 11 May 2011
My doctor cleared me to shower once the pain pump was removed which was about a week and a half. Since my entire body was deprieved of a shower for that amount of time, my husband helped me used ready bath cloths. I needed his help then and even when I was allowed to shower because my range of motion was awful. But a lot of people on this site have been cleared to take showers a lot sooner than I was. I was nervous about standing up straight because my doctor acknowledged that if I rushed it too soon I could create new stretch marks. I was so scared that I was hunched down farther than I needed to ;-). I was standing up straight a little after the second week.
Rancho Santa Fe3012 11 May 2011
I did spell that wrong. It is Sinecch. It did help a lot with the brusing and swelling. He didn't acctually prescribe it. It was optional whether or not I decided to take it. I do think that I healed a little faster than some, but I also had to learn not to push it too much when I began to feel really good. You'll notice that you will tire out easily. I have a child that refuses to walk, my 11 month old (about 20 lbs.) At two and a half weeks my doctor said that it was okay to lift her with extreme caution. At week three I was able to care for her on my own and I wasn't in pain from lifting or handling her (with caution, of course :-)
sommiebreezie 12 May 2011
Oh wowie...OK I will be sure not to push it. See I dont think Im gettin a pain pump or anything like that..my doc doesnt use drains either, which I must admit Im soo relieved. I dont think I could deal, and he says that they have noticed without drains people tend to recover alot quicker. We will see....so how long has it been since your surgery now? DO you just love your new tummy?? Gosh, I cant wait for this to happen, I just imagine my stomach and me being able to look at it without just being digusted. I have alot of friends that think I am insane for doing this because i should be "happy" with my stretch marks because they are apart of my son...HAHAHA I laugh cause they have never had kids. Karma...LOL thats all i have to say
Chyck 12 May 2011
my friend said i am vain! well i will be that!
sommiebreezie 12 May 2011
Screw em...so let them think that. YOu werent born with stretch marks, you had kids who messed with your boday! I say we are just tryin to get our youth back, and wear a bikini like everyone else. So...let it be..Im vain then too :)
Chyck 12 May 2011
lol I embrace my vain ness! i will be happy with and they will be happy and they have no choice cause i will be sure to let them see me!
sommiebreezie 12 May 2011
Yeah I told my man that I was gonna wear pasties to the pool...hahahah Im not serious but that would be awesome to feel that confident about your body.. :)
Chyck 12 May 2011
lol I dont think AMERICA will be ready for me!
sommiebreezie 12 May 2011
hehe...you got that right, Im so happy for you. Are you nervous yet...its like a week away?
sommiebreezie 12 May 2011
do you have any before pics...Im going to take a ton. I think in several different panties as well, so so i can see the before and after... :)
Chyck 12 May 2011
Thanks yes very nervous and very ready!
Chyck 12 May 2011
I have some but i cant get them to upload on here for some reason.
sommiebreezie 12 May 2011
hmmm...thats odd, maybe resolution is too high
Rancho Santa Fe3012 12 May 2011
LOL... I was happy to shed my sagging skin and stretch marks brought about by my daughters. I will be five week post op on Monday 5/16. I LOVE my new tummy. Even with the swelling, it is already a million times better than what it was before. Please tell us how it goes without the drainage.
Rancho Santa Fe3012 12 May 2011
After your surgery, you will be that confident! I stay taking pictures of myself in my undies! I am soo full of myself!
Kimmers25 (Community Manager) 10 May 2011

Good for you in taking this step!  You will feel and look amazing when all the skin is removed.  It is crazy how this procedure gives you a confidence boost immediately.

Make sure that you have plenty of help lined up for the little ones for the first couple of weeks.  You are going to need to rest and take care of yourself for a while.

Keep posting and let us know how you are doing.  Not much longer:)
