Hello I am just getting started on this journey 42 yr old - 150 lbs 5 ft 5 inches
I am scheduled to have consults with Dr Schulman this week and next week with Shaffer and November with Kolker. I would appreciate if anyone has comments on any of these ps and experience with prices they quoted you etc.... Please send me a private message if you feel more comfortable.

Had my first consult with Dr Schulman he was great as was his office staff I feel very confident about him but will go for the second consult next week before making up my mind. I feel after a ton of research I narrowed it down to a few top PS why other consulting with a ton when I found their son I want ?

So nervous doesn't help that hurricane Sandy destroyed the first floor of our duplex now I am dealing with electricians and contractors and really frustrating issues but I am now nervous about my tuck only a few hours away.

Okay had the surgery yesterday feeling stiff a lot of swelling and my abdomen feels like a rock with pain on the upper abdomen

Its 2:46 am and I am wide awake I can really feel the muscle soreness today entering 2 day po or 3 day if you count the day of surgery. Urinating and passing gas but no bowel movement yet. I think I will feel better of I have one just a mental thing don't know if I should stop my pain meds don't feel comfortable doing that yet. See my ps tomorrow Friday after I had my surgery on Tuesday. Hopefully I can stand up but right now I am totally hunched over.

So finishing up full day 2 muscles were burning on fire this morning. I feel better without the pain meds actually don't know why but the healing is faster so I am planning on moving to Tylenol today and see how it goes.
Still no BM had colace and mom but no luck yet. Go and see PS tomorrow although I doubt the drains will come out since they are still draining red and have to be emptied 3 times a day. Still can't straighten up totally at 45 degree angle.

Just got back from visit PS one drain was removed no pain just felt weird sensation. Felt better when it came out. Really hunched over and hoping to stand straighter by the end of the weekend.

Hello quick update- today has been the best day so far on terms of pain. I am down to taking pain meds twice a day and in between take Tylenol to control the discomfort.
A bit of leakage around the drain exit not much but still.... Don't know what to do about cleaning belly button what are you guys using? I can't shower till Wednesday evening so I wasn't too concerned.
I am standing up a bit better but still really hunched over. I finally looked at myself and I like what I see and am glad that I did inner thigh lipo too. Otherwise I think they would look big - ill post pics soon hubby hesitant to take pics not sure why.

Hello Today is day 6 and I have to say pain is not so much the issue as being hunched over and tight.
Today I walked 4 blocks and that was good . I felt tight but I think that it is very good for recovery. I was just walking to the bathroom first and that is not enough. I realized I won't stretch naturally if I don't actually do something that allows my body to get there.... Will keep you updated. Oh my belly button isnt like the people on this site it already is concave hole just crusty with stitches in it maybe because of my earlier surgeries.

Needed more pain pills last nite but was out and seems all of NYC is out of hydrmorphone today. I don't use them in the day just before I go to bed and then if I wake up 5 hrs later in pain.
A lot of swelling in the night I guess that is normal.

So I finally added some pictures.... hubby didn't want to take any for some reason. Anyway the scar or rectangle scab on the front is just a scab from some tape during surgery. I have stitches in my belly button but it looks normal and i though i would have one with like most people on this site that looks closed and then inverts etc... but my belly button looks regular but with crust or stiches right now. Also i have tape or glue on my incision which he will remove this friday so i don't have anything to do with taking care of incision etc... that confused me too.

So 2 weeks and a couple of days in today at my post op visit I got a new binder called Marena it has zippers and super tight it is is a size L but it is fitted and has holes opening for bathroom and you basically put your underpants on top.
I was given a green light to start scar therapy and he took the tape off me today. It didn't hurt just felt weird. He told me not weigh or measure myself because I will only drive myself nuts. He also gave me a green light for a light workout like walking treadmill or light hand weights nothing too much.
Iam doing better everyday and trust the results in another 6 weeks will be awesome.

I have to say for someone at 3 weeks doubtful if I would ever get back to normal there is lift at the end of the tunnel.
T does get better and I am getting stronger every day. Not 100 percent but better everyday. I am super thrilled with my surgeon so the aftercare has been helpful.

Doing well will post pics soon making good progress with things. I feel my scar stretch or hurt at night and the last of the scabs on it are about to fall off. I am definitely thinner and smaller but I know I still get swollen at different points. I am trying to continue the weight loss going to reach my goal which is 10 lbs away.
Now that my belly is flat my boobs look weird...

He was excellent and very talented surgeon. I am pleased with low scar and one package fee he does. I will definitely go back to him for other procedures. He is expensive but well worth it.
