I am a mother of a 6 yr old and a 4 yr old. When I got pregnant with my first child I weighed 120lbs and before I gave birth I was 178lbs. Now 58 lbs added to my 5" 4" frame did not go so well to say the least. I remember my sister's boyfriend telling me I still looked pregnant months after giving birth and new clients at work asked when I was due. After my second child, I lost most of the belly fat but the skin was even more stretched out, sagging and looked horrible. That's when I made my decision to get a tummy tuck.
I need my flat belly back!!!!
I'm scheduled for my pre-op visit on march 22. I'm so excited.

Today I did my blood work in preparation for next Friday. I wasn't scared like I always am when it came to needles, in fact, I was excited.
Oh boy!!! After I did it, my nerves kicked in and I started feeling nervous about next friday. Good thing it's a week away. Pre-op visit is on friday. Yaaayyy!!!!

I am so pleased with the way they dealt with me. From arriving and being prepped, to being in the surgery room up until recovering from anesthesia I have no complaints. So far I can see the results. Dr. Morrison is awesome. The recovery hasn't been too bad. I'm good :)

I'm 2 wks post op and I look so bloated it's depressing. Is it that I'm walking too much? Is it what I'm eating? Is this normal? HELP!!!!

Everyday it gets a little better. This healing process is sooo long. Never really anticipated the whole thing. Being told that after about 3 wks I can go back to my normal routine I thought I'd be better on the swelling side of things. My lower back is still super swollen from the lipo. I'm tired of wearing yoga pants and tights. Now I'm scared I may not be ready for my trip coming up next month :(
I'll update pics later.

19 days post op today and progress is slow but I'm being patient. Yesterday I wore jeans for the first time since my surgery. So far I am pleased with the results. The silicone pads my ps gave me he said is to help keep my skin smooth under the binder. But at the same time it is helping to make my waist smaller. It makes the binder a lot tighter and uncomfortable but no pain, no gain...right? My lower ab is swollen but I'm making progress. My lower back is also still swollen from the lipo he did there. Just updated new pics.

23 days post op and sleeping is getting a lot better now. Also I've been off any kind of pain killer for over a week. I have an appt on Tuesday with my ps to check on my progress. Sitting for a period of time and then getting up causes me to hunch a bit until I straighten out a few minutes after. The binder is a lot easier to wear now so I think I need to go a bit smaller. I noticed it is a size medium so I think it's time for a smaller one. I'm curious to see how small my waist can get. Happy healing to all my Tt sisters and good luck to all the aspiring ones. It's a great feeling being on the flat side.

Did my follow up today with the wonderful Dr. Morrison and in his words I look "fantastic". My healing is coming along the way it should. He said the garment is needed for 6 wks after which it is not mandatory...thank God! I'm happy with the results so far and I am glad I did it. Time for swim suit shopping. Yaaay!!

Today I hit the 4 wks mark and it feels great. Swelling is still there but it's worse in the evening. Posted new pics.

I'm 2 days shy of 5 wks but I'm still swollen in my lower back and belly. I have yet to fit in my pre-op jeans and I'm tired of wearing tights and sweatpants :( I caught a cold (which I was avoiding since day 1 of the surgery) and it still hurts to cough and sneeze. After almost 5 wks I'm just bummed out I have yet to button my pre-op jeans. This swelling is getting on my nerves!!

Hey Ladies!! So I'm 2 days shy of 6 wks post op....

Hey Ladies!! So I'm 2 days shy of 6 wks post op. The last 3 wks have gone by so fast. The first 2 wks seemed to crawl by. Ugh!
So far I am elated with the results. I'm 100% happy with the decision to go ahead with the surgery. I you was so self conscious before.
My construction garment got wet so I can't sleep in it. I'm a little nervous about bit sleeping without it even though my doc said I could stop wearing it at 6wks post op. I'll post pics soon

*7 wks post op* Not much has really changed since my last update. I'm still wearing my construction garment with silicone pads at night but not so much during the day. The swelling is improving and I see changes every week. I'm back to doing my regular stuff but I try not to lift heavy things. When I do I feel tension in my abdomen and it freaks me out. I'm scared I might mess something up. I posted new pics I took this morning

I was told by my ps that I don't have to wear my cg after 6 weeks but I feel like I still need to wear something. Maybe it was the lipo he did or just the tt but I need something. The one he gave me zips at the side and closes at the crotch too ( which I'm tired of). What is a good stage 2 garment? Please help!

Rash on my scar

My scar became very itchy which I figured was normal. The itching progressively got worse and when I looked closer at it I noticed a rash. The rash began to spread along the incision line. Can you imagine how freaked out I am? I'm clueless as to what is causing this. The only thing I put on it is mederma which I've been using a few weeks now. I'm going to the pharmacy to see what cream I can get to help.

4 mths post op today!!!

16 wks ago I was in bed sleepy from anesthesia from my surgery. It has been a long road and I'm still not dine with my journey. So far I am pleased with the results. I'm glad I did it! Swelling is still an issue...yes at 4 months. I still wear a cincher at night because I love the way I look in the morning when I do. Some of my jeans are still tight when I button them. My scar is healing nicely too.
I notice though that sometimes from my belly button upward seem so distended.

Almost 6 mths!

I am happy I went through with the surgery. I don't think I've ever been this happy with my body. Before I had my kids I felt too skinny and after I had them my belly was wrecked. So I really enjoyed and loved my body. The surgery has given me a level of confidence I've NEVER had before. I feel amazing in my clothes and outfits I couldn't wear before I'm getting so many compliments when I do.
However, I'm still swollen but it's not too bad. I sleep in a corset kind of binder religiously.I love how flat my belly looks when I take it off and the swelling has gone down. They say optimal results is after a year and I can only imagine how it's going to look.
To all my TT sisters thinking about doing it, those waiting on their date and those already on the flat side good luck and happy healing. Talk to you soon.

correction

**Correction* I never really loved and enjoyed my body

7 mths post op

I did my follow up visit about a wk ago and I was given the go ahead to do abdominal exercises. Yaaayyyy!!! I want that definition. For now I'm not going too crazy with the exercises. I have little to no swelling mostly. Here are some updated pics

On the fence

Swelling? Could it be? After all this time? It seems as if I dont wear my waist cincher my belly isn't flat. I'll upload pics to show what I'm talking about.

????

I'm losing my mind! What is going on? This is what happens when I don't wear my waist cincher. I have this bulge that goes down below my belly button. I'm a little blue :( is this how it is gonna be? It's been 9 mths. My ps says it's because of how extensive my muscle separation was. I guess carrying 2 babies both weighing over 8 1/2 lbs accompanied by the weight I gained during both pregnancies (and lost rapidly) wasn't good for my body at all. My doc recommended doing abs work outs to tighten the muscle he repaired. Whomp! Whomp! Who would've thought I needed ab exercises after a Tummy tuck. At the end of the day, no 2 people are the same. Everyone heals differently.

.

I'm suppose to call to schedule an appt to fix the dog ear. (See pic)

Dog ear appt

Today I scheduled an appt to correct the dog ear. The date I got was coincidentally the same day I have my 1 yr post op visit. I'm already thinking of a cover up tattoo for my sides where the scar shows when I'm in jeans. What the heck...maybe I'll cover the entire scar and start shopping for itsy bitsy bikinis for this summer :)
Despite my tummy not being super flat, I have never enjoyed my body this much. Only other thing I would change is......bigger boobs. Yup, I want them.

I sneezed and it hurt

So...I'm home in bed watching tv and felt a sneeze coming and I thought nothing of it. Oh boy was I wrong! It hurt so bad. Made my eyes water and everything. From now on I'll be holding my tummy when I sneeze. I do not want to relive that. Kind of brings me back to the mths right after surgery. Not sure why it happened though because I haven't done any exercises for about a week. My intent is to have those washboard abs (well not really) lol. I do want it flat though. In terms of swelling, in still experiencing some. I can tell when my belly feels tight. Especially close to the scar. I still pay close attention to my belly though. Here are some pics of my scar

update

I took these right after I was done doing abs.

dog ears removal

Hey tt sisters! Today I went and removed my dog ears. Yes...it was pain free. It was so weird being on the table wide awake and being cut open and stitched back up. It took about 30 mins and the whole time I was texting. Picture that! Lol Right now I am in some pain but nothing that some Tylenol can't handle...I think. I have a follow up in 2 wks. I'll keep u guys posted.

Tylenol did not work!

The first night after the dog ear removal was crazy. Tylenol did not help the pain. My eyes were watery and everything. Yup...I almost cried. Getting in and out the car kinda brought me back to the days and weeks right after my tt. Today makes 5 days since the removal and now I feel close enough to normal. I haven't seen it yet and I won't until the 14th. It has this clear plastic tape over the gauze which I'm told is to make me able to take a shower. I'm anxious to see it but I just have to be patient

visit post dog ears removal

Had my visit yesterday and the gauze and tape were removed. It had been covered since the revision. I was advised to keep it moist. I put mederma on it as I did with my incision. I'll be doing it once a day. I have posted pics to show
New York Plastic Surgeon

Dr. Morrison came highly recommended and I'm glad I decided to have him do my surgery. He listened to my concerns and outlined exactly what he was going to do which of course made me comfortable. His staff is amazing too. My entire experience was wonderful and my result is even greater. I would recommend him to anyone!
