3 week check up with Dr.

A few days ago I had my first check up with Dr Grant at 3 weeks. I got there a but early but ended up having to wait for nearly 2 hours before getting to see him. He had another surgery in the man wasn't responded to well to coming around. I saw him briefly and he didn't look great. I thought, I remember that feeling, poor man has 2 weeks of hell ahead of him. So needless to say, I didn't mind waiting as long as it took. I was at Leeds as well, as they had to move the appt, but as I got to Leeds, they knew all about my treatment at Manchester, how my procedure went personally. They clearly all talk and ask about patients. Creates a real feel that you are not just another paying patient, it is a really personal service. At this point could not recommend the private clinc and Dr Hamlett enough.
Eventually I got into see him, I showed him some pictures of my progress, 3 days post etc. He looked at my bruising and was like wow, you must have been sore. He said my bruising and 9 liters out, my recovery will have been harder then the average (if there is an average). By those standards, he said I was doing really well to be as mobile as I am at even 3 weeks.
So then he looked at my body and didn't half push and manipulate it hard. I'm not in pain now but it was uncomfortable to say the least. But he was very happy, no concerns anywhere and said it was exactly where it should be and I was taking shape nicely. This was obviously great to hear, considering I made the decision not to wear my 4D vest at 2.5 weeks.
He said I have a minimum of one more week in just my body suit. Said it will be ok not wearing my 4D vest now, but be good to wear it at night. After 4 weeks in total, he said I can stop wearing all my garments and return to the gym, depending on how I feel. He said obviously you still have alot of swelling, around a few liters. He was amazed when I told him i'd lost well over a stone in weight from before to now. He advised that you can wear garments for up to 6 weeks (and beyond if you want) but at 4 weeks, if you are happy you can stop wearing them. Well, it is great news that I can ditch the 4D vest, but not ready to ditch the body suit yet, I am still a bit sore and bar the tightness round the groin area it is comfortable to wear. So I will see where I am towards the end of next week. Then I may have it off for a few normal days at work and see how i go. As for the gym, I am moving around nicely now. Can bend and move normally. But I do not feel I am ready for the gym yet. Again, will see how this goes next week.
Overall, I am very happy with where I am at the moment. I can see my abs and love the shape. nice clear and even 6 pack, good vertical lines down and will have the v shape where he has done alot of work round my hips (hence why they are so sore). I am eagerly waiting for my swelling to go down, wish it would all go now, but with no set backs, I love my shape and can only imagine I am going to love it even more as my swelling goes down. I reckon from my pictures now, you can see why Dr Grant Hamlett is one of the best out there. My starting point was probably boarder line, being quite overweight (the 9 liters out shows that) but from that to what I am now is just incredible, and I've not finished there! I started to think, what if what I had now was my final result, would I be disappointed... and of course I would be given that I know there is more swelling to do, but take that away and actually I wouldn't be, it is still a huge transformation. Certainly the start I needed to get back to the gym and feel comfortable taking my top of again. My clothes fit again and love the picture I've put on today in my joggers. And all this is after just over 3 weeks... improvements can be seen as far as 6 months, so what this is going to end up like, I cannot wait.
On progress, sleeping and standing up after sitting down for a prolonged period of time is the only discomfort I feel, but its not a lot. So I am almost back into 'normal' routine again. By the end of next week, it will just be a case of waiting for the swelling to go as I go about my new life. Although I wait to see what happens after I don't wear my garment all day or my first gym session, will I swell alot?
All in all, still very happy at the moment. The hardest part is staying patient. every time I look in the mirror I expect to see change, and its not going to happen quite that fast, but will happen! Would love to hear any comments from people on my transformation to see if you feel my results are going as well as I think, or I am just not expected enough (prob best to be like this if I am rather then expecting too much) but as no one I know, knows about this, this is where I can talk about what I've had done, as I can't anywhere else. Thanks

Quick update before my first check up with Dr

Just thought I'd do a quick update. I have my first 3 week check up with Dr Grant tomorrow, although unfortunately I have to go to Leeds and there has been a problem with the Manchester clinic and so they have moved all patients to their Leeds clinic. This doesn't worry me now though as after a day at work today I feel great. Almost completely pain free now and swelling reducing every day. Only by a very small amount amount, but going the right way. And this is after I chased my nephew around an indoor play area all day yesterday. It will be interesting after I am out of my garment and back at the gym if it swells at the end of the day as alot of people report. Still not sleeping great, this is where I feel most vulnerable. Trying to sleep on my stomach which is not my natural sleeping position, but since i've started doing that, i've seen great progress. I have a firm mattress and really believe this helps.
Right now I am just happy I can go about my normal routine and just be patient with my recovery. I am hoping it keeps going and looking forward to seeing the results as the swelling gets better and better. I'm not the most patient of people and am prepared if it does take longer, but i'm hoping that in 3 more weeks when my body suit comes off, I am almost all recovered. For now, my biggest problem is the chaffing around my groin area from the body suit. I've tried snipping it a bit, but I've always had muscular thighs and so the xsmall body suit is just cutting in there. On a plus note, wearing an xsmall garment is a plus in itsself, i've been buying large and xlarge tops so they dont pull round my belly for years!
So, onwards and upwards, all positive for me for now, but trying to prepare myself for a set back just in case, don't want to get to down if I do get one. But fingers crossed I won't

19 days post op and starting to feel normal + pictures

So I haven't updated for a week or so now. After the first 9/10 days, I did start to feel better . Although just as I got over my badly bruised hip I had to go back to work on the Saturday, which ended up being a very busy day, running around everywhere. I sweated alot in my garments and ended up with a bad case of heat rash. So I had to take my garments off for a bit that evening.
Maureen was out to me again the next morning and my rash hadn't improved, Maureen was great tho and spent half an hour rubbing ice over me to cool me down and reduce the rash. She then performed my treatment. These treatments are important and although they can hurt, you do feel better for them. My hip felt better every time after she had worked it. But the main plus of these treatments for me, it is like having a nurse come out to see how you are doing. Maureen is so good and looks after you far beyond the treatment she gives you. Was so happy each day I knew Maureen was coming out to me.
By this point I had 11 treatments (was recommended 10), my body was still very swollen but I was starting to feel alot better. So we left it for a couple of days and booked one more in with Maureen. She was a little concerned I may have a small seroma by my breastbone so wanted to check it.
During this time, I was really struggling with my heat rash, really struggling. Against advice I took the decision to stop wearing my 4D garment and just wear the body suit garment. I took the hard board out of the 4D garment and slipped it down my body suit and fastened my body suit to the tightest notch. With Maureen's advice I also started wearing an under armour top as my first layer then everything else on top. The under armour top helped alot, more breathable for my skin but i still needed to leave the 4D vest off. The thick sponge inside it is so hot its unbearable. It felt great without it on, I went to work and it felt easy. I was a bit worried with not wearing my 4D vest, I had worn it for just over 2 weeks out of the 3 I was suppose to wear it for, but thought I would do the body suit and hard board for a day and a bit and see Maureen, not mention it to her and see if she was concerned with anything. She wasn't and said I was progressing well and the sermoa and gone down alot and almost gone. So I thought great, I can get away with not doing the 4D vest and just do the body suit and board. Now my heat rash as gone, so I could and possibly should return back to my 4D vest, but I really dont want to and think I will be ok without it. I am still progressing, swelling is reducing and the seroma is fully gone now. I don't see Maureen again, after 12 treatments we have left it as I will ring her if I need her.
I feel comfortable just doing the body suit and hard board. This was confirmed this morning when I took my garment off for a shower and to wash them and wow, I saw my definition in my abs for the first time! As I said earlier, I was out after the procedure and never saw myself, and by the time I did, my swelling was already bad. So it's been a bit of a wait to see this, I am thrilled so far. Still very very swollen, but looking so promising. I feel great (compare to last week, still a bit stiff and achy), off the pain killers now and can move about fine. So tided the house a bit after 2 weeks of just leaving things lying about everywhere.
I am due to see Dr Grant in 3 days, that will be my 3 week check up where I suppose to be able to lose the 4D vest. So I am hoping for a good check up and I can lose the hard board and just do the body suit. I am also going to see if I can get immediate after pictures from Dr Grant. So I will update then. After a trying first 2 weeks, I am defo starting to get the worth it feeling now.

Provider Review

Dr. Grant Hamlet

Dr Grant was great, very down to earth and a perfectionist, which is what you want. Tells you with honesty what he can do and spends his time with you going over anything you want to go over. Results will ultimately dictate the rest, but very happy with him.
