I don't know who told you that this is a normal response to IPL. I am a licensed esthetician and a certified laser technician. Those are very bad burns left by the IPL handpiece. You should never have red, burn bar marks left on your face. Those are clearly burns. Capillaries get a little redder after treatment and pigment gets darker in color, but if the treatment is done correctly you will get amazing results with no burn/bar marks. I really hope those burns don't leave you permanently damaged with either hypo or hyperpigmentation. It's craz how many people out there don't know what they are doing, burn people and then tell them that it's a normal response.

p.s. the machine was set to my skin type and was set a the lowest setting which was 21..for my skin type. the next time i had it done 2 months after it was set at 22 then the last one was set at 23.. with good results my nurse told me i dont need anymore has its all gone the only thing she told me was that in time the capillaries may return but will never be the same ones that was zapped VERY HAPPY . i hope this has helped you in your review many thanks

I'm glad you're happy now, but i have to agree with jriv. They're not the effects I would expect to see from IPL. It should be targeting small discolourations in a scattered pattern, not leaving bar shaped burns on the face. It's not a chemical peel. I accept that this may be some different treatment style, but it's very, very unusual.

I hope those red/burn bars has disappeared. Recover is NOT suppose to be like that. It looked like they've burnt you, rather they went away or not. They ARE burn's for a fact. IPL recovery isn't suppose to look like that at all. I've heard that after the treatment, the treated area appears redder, or more visible. Then, all those side effects is suppose to go away in a week or less, depending. Then, start to fade. But those ARE definitely burns!. That is NOT normal. I don't know who told you that that was okay, but it's definitely NOT okay at all. If those burns took a couple weeks, a month, or longer to go away, they should have definitely been getting in trouble for that. That's not IPL's promise to do those type of side effects. Laser's like v-beam & such, does.

No offence but the ability to heal your burns to healthy skin seems highly unlikely within a week, more like impossible. The pigmentation in some areas are for more severe and would not go away in 7 days healing time. I question whether this post was made by a person who administers ipl and has recieved these pictures as a complaint and now is assuring people not to worry over extremely damaged skin. If you're skin looks like the above picture, go seek a medical professional to minimize burning/infections/further damage issues. Strong signs of burning from ipl could be a result of an issue that you might not experience until the future. I hope you're healthy now, and you're beautiful regardless of your face, but DO NOT promote this as healthy treatment.

I too would be seriously afraid if I received burns like that. It is NOT normal.
