Hi everyone. Just joined this website today after reading all your great stories. It helps so much to read everyone's reviews and comments. I am having a tt this Thursday 28th June in England. I have wanted a tt so about 20 years. I am 49 yrs old. One son aged 16 and have lost 45 lb or 3stone 3lbs. And I have a horrible kangaroo pouch so finally I'm down for surgery this week. I am excited and scared too. Please pray for me as the last surgery I had left me in intensive care and very poorly but now I am ready for great results, positive thinking and prayers. I will post before and after photos too.

2 more sleeps to go. The day after tomorrow is my tummy tuck and lipo now really nervous that I can't sleep as my stomack is a bag of nerves and I have packed my case and I am getting all my house, bills, food shopping in order so I know everything is sorted. I'm going to the gym today for my last chance workout. It's with my personal trainer I always think I'm on The Biggest Lose. Which I am addicted too. I wish in England they would hurry up with another New series as I keep watching repeats. It inspires me to get to my goal. I have only 4 lbs to goal but can never get there. So now I am hoping with my tt I will finally have a better shape and finally get rid of my kangaroo pouch and reach my goal weight. Long recovery journey ahead but now ready.

Well I decided to put the before photo's on here. My husband has never seen my tummy in 23 years only with the light off... I have always been so embarrased about it and covered it all my life. So fingers crossed tomorrow I will have my surgery and my new journey with a flatter tummy will begin, although I know I have a long journey ahead.

Well it's now 2.40am and I can't sleep but It's fine as I have slept on and off all day. I am catching up with my messages anyway. My eyes keep rolling around but I can cope with that. LoL..... Well the pain relief pump is working great and I wish I could take it home. I am feeling ok just the morphin keeps making me feel sick. A little price for a flat tummy. The surgery went really well and the care is brilliant. Mr. Murphy the Surgeon was great. And Mr. Wisley was great too. They told me that the took out half a pound of fat from lipo on my hips and cut off 3 pounds of fat from my tummy so I hope it looks great. I have a compression garment around my middle. Lovely white long compression stockings on to prevent DVT, and some things what massage my calfs too.

Welll I will say hello again in the morning (night, night). X

Hi everyone. I had a long night not sleeping last night but ok not in pain. Today I walked to the bathroom like a ninty year old. And the nurse took my drip came down. I was in painin my tummy area so they gave me trimadol. But i have been feeling so sick all day. But I am coming around now finally. I am going home tomorrow and having my drains out too. Mr. Murphy my surgeon let me have a sneak preview of my new tummy. Yes defo on the flat side now. I can't see my tummy that well yet but my kangaroo pouch has finally vanished. They cut of three pounds of fat and skin and half a pound of lipo was sucked out.

My new journey now starts on the flatter tummy side. whoop eee. Will definately be resting when I get home as I don't think I can do anything else..

Hi everyone, It's two days now since my surgery, I am doing ok. I actually slept ok last night from 1am till 6.30 am that's good for me, at this moment in time. In pain a bit this morning but just had some painkillers and I will have my drains out this morning, and then my dressings changed and I can go home this morning. Dredding the hour long journey home too, especially with my dad driving.

My tummy is getting tighter. I got up to the toilet with help and I am curling up even more as I can't straighten up at all. Yeek... besides this I am fine. Rest, Rest, Rest I hope I can at home.

Hi Everyone day 2 post op. I finally came home today and the journey wasn't too bad. Finally home at 3pm and Im on the sofa with lots of pillows and fluffy blankets. I can't get on or off the sofa except if my son or husband helps me and I'm hunched over like a 90 year old going to the bathroom. I had my drains out today and a new dressing. I also had a look at my new tummy which I will try to load up tomorrw. Its amazing. so flat. I hope that it stays this way when the binder comes off. I have a lot of gas in my tummy. Has anyone else got this. This hurts the most. night for now.

Hi, hope you are feeling ok! Can you take anything for the gas like Dulcoease or IBS tablets? Did your PS recommend anything for gas or BMs ? Also, lots of people talk about eating low sodium foods after a TT- have you been advised to eat anything to avoid bloating and gas? Take care x

Hi Everyone Today I feel like I have been run over by a bus and the bruising is coming out everywhere. I think this is from the lipo on my hips. I am in pain today and very stiff. But I know what journey I have to go on and be on the flat side so no complaining from me..... Here are some photo's from yesterday when I was having my dressing changed to come home. I hate asking people to help me get of the sofa and help me with anything. ARHHHHH..... I'm so tired today also I just keep sleeping.

Hi everyone. Another day has past day 4 post opp Monday 2nd July 2012. I had a good night sleep thank goodness and washed my hair this morning. I'm shattered now but I do look like myself again with my hair and make-up done to just sit in the house on the sofa. I was 9 stone 10lb last Thursday and I had 3lbs of fat cut of my tummy and half a pound of lipo fat. I haven't hardly eaten anything since last Thursday and I got on the scales yesterday with my binder on and I weighed (go on guess. Yes 9 stone 10lb the same). Oh blimming heck. Today I had dropped to 9 stone 8lbs with my binder on so fingers crossed I'm losing weight. My goal is 9 stone 6lb so I'm hoping that I get there but worrying too as I can't exercise for 2 months Yeek ..........

Hi Coco! I've only just seen your review - there's so much on here, I find new people every day! I haven't put any pre-op pics up yet (haven't worked up the nerve) but my tummy shape looks a lot like yours did so I'm going to be watching your progress now!

My TT is 4 weeks away (in London) so I hope that 4 weeks today I'm going to be as happy as you are! Hope you're sleeping better.

You look great! Don't worry about what the scale says. This surgery isn't necessarily designed to help you lose weight, but instead to lose inches! When I asked my PS how much weight he thought I'd lose from having this he said bluntly "none". Also, at this point you probably have a lot of (internal) swelling going on, meaning lots of extra water weight! I bet in a few weeks the scale will read much less. Anywho, focus on the fact that you look amazing!
  • Reply
ewozobski yes i know I knew that really but you think the ps cut off 3 pounds of fat and half a pound of lipo then it should have shown on the scales but yes I do know its not the weight but how i look afterwards and no pouch to carry around.. hurray x

Hi Everyone Yet another day is here. Day 5 post op. Feel really groggy still and I got stuck in my bed this morning. I could not get out of bed as I had somehow slipped down the bed and could not get out of this position. I had to ring my son for help. Oh well I am up now and had a wash. Wish I could shower... I am still stooped over like an old lady but every day I will be healing. Two days to having my stitches out in my belly button and dressings changed. Everyday is a day closer. Today I weighed myself I know I shouldnt but I took my brace off and stood on the scales and Im now 9 stone 5lb finally at my goal weight and I am so thrilled at loosing 3 and a half stones. yepeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee xxxxx

Hi everyone I don't think I am improving yet. It's taking so long and I feel the same yet. My stomach is so tight and I'm still snooped over. I wonder when I will straighten up again. Its a week tomorrow since my surgery and Im having my stitches taken out of my tummy button, and new dressings.

hi there, I had my TT and lipo 6 weeks ago. I went in thinking it would be similiar to a c-section which I hadnles quite well! It was not......my expectations of myself and the time needed to recover were unrealsitic. I had the surgery done on the Thursday of a long weekend and went back to work the following Wednesday......silly me. I can now say I am thrilled with the results. It was not without some heartache and pain though and I had about 3 weeks of rough! Everyone is different but the results (when they happen) will be the same; no more wearing baggy clothes, sex with the lights off and UGLY bathing suits! good luck to all!
  • Reply
oh thank you for that I will be a bit more patient.
Hi Coco, so sorry to hear you still feeling the same! Remember to be kind and patient with yourself! I can imagine what the build up to the operation and the results you are wanting to see . It has only been a week? When I had my breast augmentation, I was so excited to see the end result, but was so frustrated with my recovery taking so long! Well? A year and a half later, I am only now able to enjoy them without any pain! I know, everybody is different and heal differently. Just hang in there, 2 weeks from now and you will feel like a new woman! .... Be kind to yourself! ... Take care and have a good night's sleep..... Xx

Hi Everyone Day 7 post op today. I am feeling...

Hi Everyone Day 7 post op today. I am feeling better in my self again today and I have just been to The Hospital in Manchester to change my dressing and take the stitches out of my tummy button. It did not hurt as its really numb around my button area. I am really swollen today, more than any other day and I don't know if that's what happens. Can anyone tell me if that is what happens. I feel really fat today and look a funny shape. I am still so bruised, black, blue and now yellow from the lipo, and I also got a new lighter binder. Because its smaller and lighter its now like having the tightest trousers on and because I am swollen it is giving my a tyre..... Oh no I thought that I would not have any tyres anymore. Can't believe 7 days has gone by since my surgery. Now resting after a horrific journey with my dad to the hospital and back as he brakes and swirves the car alot and goes over every blimming bump he can find.......

Poor you, going on a bumpy journey sounds horrendous!! Did the PS say anything about the swelling? I was wondering if having a low sodium diet helps or is it going to happen anyway, regardless of what you eat. I am worried about that cos I am having mine pulled extra tight to get rid of a bit of skin where I had a belly button piercing years ago. Anyway, can't wait to see new pics- it's looking good already!!
  • Reply
I so the nurse today but she said it was swollen but it will go down. Nobody has mentioned about low sodium diet but I have read this on here, but I haven't had much food only fruit, Its just from the surgery and I hope that it will go down soon. The nurse said I had all the mussels tightened and lipo and lots of fat and skin removed so I will go down. fingers crossed.
Hey coco....I am finally on the flatside as they all call it. Not quite 48 hours yet but feel pretty good. I managed to put some pics up. Will maybe do others later. How are you feeling now? how many days are you now? xx

OMG what a fright this morning. My tummy button...

OMG what a fright this morning. My tummy button was been a little wet and the nurse re-dressed it for me and I re-dressed it yesterday. It wasn't too bad so a dry dressing was put on it. This morning I went into the kitchen and I thought what a horrible smell, I did not know where it was coming from..... My BFF came around and she said we will re-dress your tummy button, well I took off my binder and the smell was horrific, brown stuff was running out of my button. I just cried in shock and my friend said we will have to ring A & E but I said we must ring Spire Hospital first. The Spire Hospital said that I have to go to their hospital so I had to get someone to take me. Its an hour journey there then back..... Well I've just got home and they cleaned it out, dressed it and gave me antibiotics. Fingers crossed I will be ok. I am really worried as my tummy is looking good. Has anyone else had an infected belly button.

So sorry to hear about your tummy button...that must have been frightful!!! With antibiotics and clean dressings it will be awesome in no time =)

Hi Coco, So sorry to hear about your BB hope you get better fast. I am 10 days post-op and I have read some stories of people getting their stitches out of their BB within days my PS leaves them in for two weeks. I go back Tuesday for a check up but I have a little red spot that seems to still bleed a little when I clean it on my BB so I'm going to ask him to leave the stitches in for a little longer. I'm not sure if he will but to me I feel it would be ok to be on the safe side. Best wishes and fast healing to you!

Day 11 Post Op. Not wrote for a few days as I haven't felt too well. I still have this infection in my belly button and I have been so worried as it was gushing horrible brown coffee looking stuff and a hole was appearing bigger and bigger and very sore. I had to change my dressing every 2 hours or it would pour out. I have been so worried. Been to the hospital again today and my ps came to see me and he said that the old blood has to come out somewhere and its come out of my belly button and now got an infection but he thinks it will finally dry up soon and Im on antibiotics. So fingers crossed.

Im still a bit stooped over yet but its getting better, but walk really slow. Still chilling on the sofa most of the time and only doing a few jobs around the home.

Hope the antibiotics kick in soon!! I am sending big hugs too and best wishes for a speedy recovery!! Hopefully you can look back at your updates soon and think how glad you are that the infection is all gone!! Take care x

Hi, my TT and breast lift/augmentation is on August 6th. I have put about 1 stone on since I saw the PS so I need to try to get back on the straight and narrow food wise to lose a bit before then. I am getting really scared now.
Where is the hole- BB or incision? It sounds horrendous and painful! It's a pain having to do an hour's journey to see the PS when you are having problems I bet! Hope it all clears up quickly! Take care x

Hi angemary,I think I should have another course of antibiotics as its still running out of my bb and I have a hole too, but the nurse said see how it goes. So I have to do what she says. My energy levels are about 10 per cent and I feel that I must be a lot slower healer than a lot of people on here but I have been so poorly this week and i am still like a slug getting about and I have no appetite at all. Great for the diet as I have now lost 8 lb and under my target weight. Thats the great plus.... But you need food and protein to heal so I have to try and get food down me. Tomorrow I am going to try really hard
tomorrow and try and go out for a little meal with my husband so he doesn't get fed up because he really is so fed up with me being in the house and not being my active self so tomorrow I will do my best and try. But I feel I can't drive yet as it hurts too much and we have a massive car and really heavy so thats a no no yet until next week.... When is your tt again.. xx

How are your energy levels and ability to get around after 2 weeks? Can't believe that it's been 2 weeks already- time is flyimg by at the mo and my TT is getting closer and closer and I am getting more and more petrified as each day goes by. At least your photos give me comfort and hope that it will all be worth it. Take care x

Hi everyone, Day 16 Post Op.... Well My bb is...

Hi everyone, Day 16 Post Op.... Well My bb is finally improving and I am feeling like myself again. I have had a tough journey but I would not swop it at all. I absolutely love my new tummy. Words can't describe how it is not to have a big kangaroo pouch in front of me. Great to see my feet again in the shower and great not to be conscience of my clothes clinging to my belly. I finally went out for a couple of hours last night for a meal with my husband as he is a bit fed up of staying in the house with me. I dressed up, short shirt, leggings, and for the very first time a beautiful top which I have had for about 8 months which was only to my waist and I would not wear it as you could see my tummy sticking out. Well I had it on and my husband said wow look at that flat tummy. Although I felt lovely I am still stooped over when I stand up if i have been sat for a while. (My muscles under my ribs are so so tight)....... I'm not complaining at all as I'm finally looking great.

It's true about sodium also. My meal was salty (the sauce) and today I put on 2 pounds in weight. So today no sodium for me.

I will put some photo's on today... whoop eeee.

Coco21 thank you for writing back to me!! Not to sound rude but I just saw your underwear pictures and they look so pretty on you!! I can't wait to feel good about underwear shopping..not having to purchase shirts that cover my pooch...not having to wear one piece spanx that dig into the top of my shoulders..going to the bathroom will be a relief because at 51 It's always an urgent thing (lol)... and pulling off spanx is a process when your out - especially in the hot weather!!! Take it easy and just rest! I'll be checking your progress!!!! :)

Day 18 Post op. Hi Everyone, Finally went to my friends house for lunch hurray,,,, Someone to speak too..... I am feeling lots better now although so so sore still. My left side still swollen and the bb getting better although still not right yet. When I have been sat up for a few hours, my tummy gets so tight under my ribs and I need to lay down again. I don't feel I still can drive yet as our car is so big and heavy and I don't think I should risk it yet.

Hello miss coco. You are looking fabulous honey. Get you strutting it in a thong eh...lol. Just shows you what confidence it has already given you huh. Glad the bb is stopping harassing you and is starting to behave itself. Did your ps recommend a time roughly to start driving again. Just wondered when you mentioned it in your update today. Mine has told me I should wait till I'm 3-4 weeks po, but to give it more time if i dont feel ready, that I need to listen to my body and how i feel. We have had nothing but issues with our car lately and it is in the garage yet again!! Hubby surprised me last week by telling me he has the next 2 weeks off. Feel so relieved that he is around when I need him. By time he goes back to work I will be a day short of 4 weeks po. I should be feeling hugely better by then. Well, i hope so anyway.

Hi Fluffy I like the Miss Coco I keep laughing.... Thank you for the lovely comments. I have never wore a thong in my life as I did look a sumo.... I am quiet proud now of my tummy. My PS said I could drive at approx 2 weeks but I really don't feel ready and if I did drive I could not walk far at the other end. So I'm leaving it another week. My husband is glad I'm not going out so I don't spend anything..... I can't sit up for over a couple of hours as my tummy kills and burns. The Compression Garment does this I think. You don't have one do you. I do think it helps though with the swelling. My husband loves looking at my new tummy when Im in bed as its so flat. Hope you are not doing too much and how is the scar looking. Has it smoothed out at all yet. Take care xx
Hi Coco, just thought I would say you look amazing... simple as ... well done you and your surgeon for doing such a good job. Shame about the prob you initially had with BB but you look terrific and appear to be getting over that set back ... hows the swelling doing now ? Suzi

Hi Coco, Wow you look amazing. Your ab definition is awesome. Happy Healing!

HI GG...... I am so glad to hear that all is well, besides the breast pain! Just keep dosing yourself with painkillers to start, it just takes the edge off the trauma your body has encountered. Each day that passes is a day closer to being completely healed. My op is now less than a month away, albeit it on my 2nd day countdown.... Ha ha... And hearing all these reports on recovery just makes me feel a little less nervous! .... Take care of yourself ...cannot wait to see you PO pics!!!

DAY 20 Post Op. I am feeling really good. I am...

DAY 20 Post Op. I am feeling really good. I am going to drive on Friday.... Yek... If I had an automatic car I would have done it earlier, but my car is massive and very heavy so I will try Friday to go to a restaurant not too far away.

When you get a Compression Garment in England, No one tells you about putting a memory form piece underneath. The US ladies seem to do this. I have found that the CG really hurts me and I have even had a towel under my CG. Anyway I found a company called eform (www.efoam.co.uk) and It arrived this morning. I had a piece of memory form cut 1 inch thick, 16 inch across and 10 inch long. Its wonderful...... Wish someone had told me before about it...... It was only £3 But P&P was £6 but Its worth it....

Well what am I doing today!!!! OH Watching TV again... So fed up with boring tv now. But I am thinking of my wonderful tummy and my first bikini at aged 49.... Wish I had done it years ago.......

Thank you Coco, I searched high and low for a foam supplier here in the UK and couldn't find one.. This site is great and will even let you get a customised a wedge for under your knees in you own measurement. I did get some lipo foam while in the states but I am sure I will need more than I got . Thanks agains. Good luck with the driving on Fri. Happy healing!

Day 21 Post Op.... Three weeks exactly this moment...

Day 21 Post Op.... Three weeks exactly this moment I was in the operating Theatre.. Yeek... So Glad Im on this side now. Its been a long 3 weeks and my recovery is slow but I have to think how much healing is going on in my tummy. I feel ok, still sore, but more than that so so tired..... I ve lost all this weight 50 lb had a tt and lipo and last night I was on the sofa and my husband kindly said. Oh your neck has gone so wrinkly and your face..... How nice was that.......I am horrified and upset.. Its ok I thought well I will have to have more surgery now on a facelift, breast lift, Bum life, and yes neck life.... The cheeky B............... I think I will just get fat again and fill out all the wrinkles...... But then my tummy tuck will pop. Is there justice in this world.......MEN.. YAK......

Don't worry about what he said. Men say the stupidest things sometimes. I would say something like well if you think that I guess its gonna cost you cause I can't go around looking like this! I think you look great and you are rocking the two piece. Happy Healing!

Anyone in the US purchased memory foam? If yes, where did you get it?
  • Reply
Hi Ree Thank you for the lovely comments. Yes update yours soon.. My CG hurts my skin and so I have been wearing a big dressing underneath, so the memory form is great for comfort and takes the pressure off my skin. I did see the ladies in the US having them on underneath and i thought what a great idea. xx

I was going to try and drive today. But I don't feel I can yet as my tummy is so sore. So will leave it another fews days. Been out for a meal tonight but I find the compression garment squeezes me to death and hurts my tum a lot so after a couple of hours I've had enough. Why am I so tired all the time. Its 3 weeks now since my surgery. When will I feel full of energy again ???

look at your midline abs!!! looking good...your energy will come back eventually, remember you had a BIG surgery and you are still healing and your body is adapting to its new shape...and if you are not ready to drive then don't rest as much as you can ....

I was pretty evenly fat :). I don't remember noticing one side different from the other. Besides my stupid hip with the dent. Have you been massaging?
  • Reply
Awh thanks Ana. I am getting a bit impatent with myself now as I want to start feeling better now. My tummy is more swollen or fatter on the left side than the right. The right side is fantastic but the left is fatter at the end of my scar. Did u have this ? Xx

Hi there,
One of the other members - Helen - told me to look at your pictures and I just want to say WOW! you obviously aren't aware of how good you look and those side views are unbelievable! I'm sure it must seem like eternity when you're waiting to get better and I think I will be awful but honestly hang in there: sit on the sofa, watch rubbish telly, ignore people who make unhelpful comments, you've earned this time!!
Wishing you much happiness in your new body.
Hi Anna Oh that's so nice of you to say those lovely words. I don't feel I look good in the photo's but when I look in the mirror I think I look ok. Then I take a photo and think yak, I look big..... Anyway I might be one of these folk who are never happy with my body image..... Oh no....... Thank you again x
You really don't look fat - like I said to you, I think you and I have a very similar pre-op appearance (I haven't even dared to put a front-on before photo up as I hate how completely square I look). Frankly I would give my eye teeth to look like your gym kit photo that's up now! So I hope my surgeon is as good as I think he is because I'd love to think I'll be looking that good in 3 weeks' time! It's ONLY 3 weeks and 2 days since your op! You're doing amazingly well! Hx

Finally driving whoop eee. And went out again x

Thank you pocahontas.... Its getting good now. I am taking it easy and doing bits in the house then resting then a bit more and resting..... I did drive yesterday for the first time and it was ok, I went to a shop but did not feel great and I was sweating like mad so I thought No not ready yet.... A bit at a time. x
No I haven't massaged as my PS said I hadn't to until I see him first next weeks.x
Hey Cocoliciuos!! Why are you being so impatient???..... You have been looking at your muffin for heaven knows how long and hating it, ....now that you have had it removed....you are wanting immediate results... I have been checking out TT on other websites and Youtube on some women's journeys after a 12 month PO.... Yeah....it takes up to a year before you start seeing the results.... very interesting that we as humans have become so spoilt with instant gratification.... I am exactly the same, and I am loving that no matter where in the world we are....we are all the same, with the same fears and anxieties!!! I am learning so much with this site xxx

Good morning 30 days post op. I'm so glad I am...

Good morning 30 days post op. I'm so glad I am getting well again and feeling like me again. Started driving again. Been out quiet a few times and went to the gym yesterday but only walked very slowly for half an hour just to start getting my body working again. I am still swelling at night and I am so glad I have my compression garment on as I know it helps. I'm still really sore under my ribs in the middle of my abs as I had the muscles repaired and they r the sorest. Going to a wedding today all day and night so a bit worried that I am going to not be able to sit all day and night. But we have booked a room at the hotel so I can rest too. So I will have a great time showing off my new tummy.

I bought my dream jeans finally size 12 uk size . I was a size 22 when I started my journey. I have lost 50 pounds or in the uk 3 3 stones 9 pounds. Whoop eeeee. Got in my new size 12 jeans with a top tucked in and a belt. No Muffin Belly showing. Just a flat one. Amazing xxxxx

Happy healing everyone.

Hi teddy. Thank u for ur lovely comments too The silver glitter wallpaper is actually material. The company say it's not for walls but I so it in a restuarant in manchester and asked them where it was from. It's a glitter material on a roll and the decorator put it on with their special glue. But we have had it on the wall 2 years and I love it. The company is called
Muraspec. Google it and it comes up. Xx ps it's not cheap too xx

omg coco21......u look so awesome...wow! I am a 54 yo and had my tt on august 17..........but m going thru the same stuff you r...i got on the scale after a few days of not eating much and weighed 2 lbs. more, and felt all what u went thru...now today,i take off my gauze and something smelled and it was my bely button....not oozing, but smelly, good thing is , I m going to my ps tommorrow to get some stitches out and will get my belly checked. i too have no energy at all. I do a lil something and need to rest. I m thinking as we get older, it may take a bit longer to heal. Or as they say, everyone is different and heals diffderently.......I m so so happy i got brave enough to get my tt, as I hav never had a "flat" belly all my life..even as I was a grade schooler.....I love to run, walk, ski, work out? and can not wait for the ok to do that, but for now, i know I just hav to heal and rest....hope all keeps going well for u.......take care

I thought I would write a little review again it's 14 weeks since my tt and it truly is brilliant. I can wear almost anything now and I am so pleased with my new tummy. The only small thing which is not 100 per cent is that I have the left side of my scar fatter and a dog ear. mr. Murphy is going to redo it on the 20 November free of charge so I will be so glad then.

My husband absolutely loves my tummy and I had never let him see it in 23 years now I walk around naked upstairs and don't bother at all. Whoop eee I am so happy about this. So anyone not sure whether to have a tt or not. Go for it and if you have results like me. U will be so so happy.

Keep well. xx
