Reducing Myself - Lutherville Timonium, MD

Well it has been 3 weeks. I'll try to catch you up. On the 21st I went in for the surgery. I was really nervous - until I had to get changed. I took my bra off and threw it in the garbage - and I just focused on why I was there. I even took a pic of my bra and texted it to all my friends! From that point on I was like - Let's do this! I felt excitement and could hardly wait to get it over with.

Dr. Birely came in and marked me up and I was shocked at how much he was planning on taking off. I just got more excited, When they wheeled me into the operating room, I got up from the chair and practically ran over to the table to get it started.

The next thing I knew - I woke up in the recovery room. I was pretty alert and uncomfortable but not in a lot of pain. They gave me pain meds and I waited. I had to go to the bathroom and I was able to but when I came back - I threw up from the meds. But I still felt OK - all things taken into consideration.

Went home - slept for the next 4 days. Pain was slim to none. Don't know if it was because I just didn't have any pain or my dad and husband were shoving pills down my throat.

My belly button was off center. Discovered it was due to the swelling. So don't freak out if your belly button looks off center at first!

Dr. Birely gave me his personal cell and even came in on a Sunday on a holiday weekend just to remove my drains.

All I can say about Dr. Birely is that the man is a genius. I am 3 weeks out and my scars are thin and already look like they are going to be barely noticeable. I look good - really good. His staff is so sweet to me. I would have no problems recommending him to anyone.

Holy crap!

I waver between nervous and excited - mostly excited! Just trying to get the last things ready before the surgery. So much to do.
