Rhinoplasty provider: Not specified

I'm 53. At 19 I had a rhinoplasty that changed the entire look of my face (nose and throat DR.) I knew from then on comsmetic surgery was the great new tide for women and men. At 43, my Dermo Dr. {edited} of Van Nuys did a laser on my fair and oily Irish skin for broken capillaries - What a great job and a huge differance in the brightening of my skin. My veins had been so bad I was tempted to go to a medical make-up for birthmarks just so I could get coverage.

At 45, I had 10 dermabrasions at my Dermo's office - 1st one, great result, lasted the afternoon - 2nd one, great result, lasted a day-3rd one, great result, lasted a day and a half - fourth one, great result lasted three days- 5th one, lasted a full week, 6th one a month - by the time I did ten I had no lines on my forehead at all and the great result was permanent! My skin glowed and looked fabulous! Friends and family commented constantly on my skin- and how young I looked! My forehead lines now are still almost gone.

Now I must tell you, Dr. {edited} told me in 1982 I had to wear a sunblock everyday. I did that. Five years ago Dr. {edited} an Opthmologist in Encino gave me, at that time, a revelutionary eyelift - fat transfer and filling those hollows - not taking any fat away. He also was able to lift my labial folds. I had a light laser for crepey skin around my eyes, two photoderms on my face and one on my neck - the results were more than what I could have wished for. And, the results have lasted for 5 Years! My friends have all aged and their now adult children can't believe I haven't changed! I have constantly dated men younger than myself ever since, and it's a great life! If we repair and dryclean our clothes to look so smart on us - why not our skin - just the visual of you looking younger in your mirror everyday will give an outlook on life that will make you a better person -

My advice is
a) be reasonable in your expectation
b) chose the right Dr. for the right job
c) and be grateful you can even have this work done when so many people in the rest of the world struggle for their lives
d) my mother always said "you have to suffer to be beautiful" the pain in all these procedures was almost nothing, come on, it's elective, but still surgery.

Have had consults at Med Spas's and not at all convinced they are a good alternative, although the prices are very alluring. Also beware the before and after pictures doctors are showing you from the maufacturer of the procedure/laser - Cheers!

I liked your sense of expectations and positive attitude towards cosmetic surgery. You got your rhinoplasty at the age I am now, and I'm currently shopping for a doctor. I want to ask you, what are the key things to look for when shopping around for a doctor? I live in Northern California, so if you have any specific names I would love to get them.

While I have your attention, you mentioned that you have fair Irish skin (as do I) and I was curious to know if you know of any procedures to lighten freckles or erase them all together? Thanks so much!
