Im a 25 year old mother of a 4 year old child. I'm mainly getting a tummy tuck to get rid of my loose skin. Im tired of working out and not getting good results, being afraid to wear a two piece, and just being so self conscious about my body. I want to do something for me and feel good about it. At the same time I'm terribly nervous. Im down to 5 days pre-op and dreading it, but looking foward to this more than anything..lol, if that can make any sense. Any advice? I put up some before shots, the after ones will be up next week.

Updated on 26 Aug 2011:
I am coming up on 6 months post op! I absolutely love my results. It did take quite some time for the swelling to go down. There were alot of other people that had their mini TT done the same time as me that were able to post pics within a week. I had some lipo done around the incision area to prevent "dog ears" and also muscle tightening. I think this prolonged the swelling, but it was worth it. I do still have some stretch marks as you can see in my pic; this is because I only did a mini tt. The skin is tightened though and that is exacatly what I wanted! Mission Accomplished! Im so sorry for the delay. I will post a couple pics I took with my phone.

My rating:

I had and excellent experience. Everyone was very helpful and nice. Dr.Dean was very professional and made me feel comfortable. The nurses were great. They made me feel at ease on a personal level as well as professional. Sometimes the waiting was a little longer than expected but the service was well worth it.

I just had a mini TT on 2/21/11 and it was no big deal at all. I was up and down the same day and I'm a wuss when it comes to pain. You will do just fine and will love your results. Good luck to you!!!! Keep us posted on your recovery!!!
ksharee 10 Mar 2011
That's good to hear. I'll be thinking about that so I don't talk myself out of it. Im so excited so see how it turns out though. I saw your pics and you look great by the way. Do you think two weeks is plenty of time off before returning to work? Did you have drains?I will definitely keep ya'll posted. Thank you.

I did not have drains for the TT I only had drains for the breast lift. I'm still a little sore in the breast area and am now 3 weeks post op. As for the TT that didn't bother me at all no pain there at all, but remember everyone is different. I think 2 weeks should do it but it depends on how you heal.

Good luck with your mini tt. I'm having mine on the 21st. I am just as nervous as you but excited at the same time. I'm so tired of working out so hard and not getting the results I should. I can't wait to lose the loose skin. Keep us posted.
ksharee 10 Mar 2011
Thank you! Only a couple more days for both of us. I think our results will be even better once we begin working out again. Lately I've just kinda been like whatever, I'm getting a tt anyways so I don't care what I eat..lol. I will keep you posted.
readyforchange 11 Mar 2011
That's exactly how I am. I haven't been working out as hard. My problem is that I had to quit smoking. I already put on 6 lbs. I don't know why. I am not eating any more than I did before in fact actually less. I hope the weightgain stops. I am so super excited. Please keep me posted and let me know how you are doing post op. I think our bellies look very similar so I'm excited to see your results. Are you also doing your breasts?

I am not sure if you two ladies know this but there is a thread discussion on the tummy tuck section called March Tummy Tuckers Unite....most of the women on there are getting a full tuck but some of us have a mini and some are combo mini or full with breast work and/or lipo. There is great info in the discussions and wonderful support. You should check it out as I have found it helpful considering here is not much activity on the mini TT section. Good luck to both you ladies on your upcoming surgery! You will be fine!

Ksharee, I had my mini on March 3rd and I have to go back to work on Monday (total of 11 days off). It's an office job and I am getting around ok so I think I will be fine. Although I am worried about being tired because I have been napping every day. But physically I think you will be fine with 2 weeks. Your before pics look similar to mine...good luck to you!!

I'm thinking about you and wishing you good luck on your upcoming surgery. I am getting extremely nervous. My surgery is on the 21st. I'm so looking forward to not seeing this ugly stretched skin ever again. Please keep me posted. What kind of binder did you order? I have to order mine and I'm not sure what to get.
ksharee 16 Mar 2011
You only have a couple more days left!! I didn't have to order a binder, the doctor gave me one. Im not sure what kind it is though. Ill take a look next time I take it off. Oh and I only did a tt, no breasts. I cant take the compression foam off yet so I can't see what my tummy looks like. But I can tell you I'm really swollen.
readyforchange 14 Mar 2011
Hope your doing well and not in too much pain. Feel better!

I hope everything went well!!! Can't wait to see how things turn out!
ksharee 16 Mar 2011
Thank you ! I will be posting pics probably next week when I can take this foam off my stomach.

Waiting to see your own results is hard isn't it?? I had mine in a thursday and couldn't take my binder off until he following Tuesday when I had my first appointment....5 days was a long wait! So glad verything went well for you! I can't wait to see your results! I am 2 weeks today. He swelling has gone down quite a bit which I thought I wOuld be happy about but now that I am skinnier I am noticing loose skin. Mostly just when I bend or squat down but I wanted the skin to be tighter. That was my fear with the mini. At any rate, it looks a LOT better than it did!

Sorry that my typing is messed up...typing from my iPhone
ksharee 16 Mar 2011
Thank you all! I am doing good. The last two days were pretty uncomfortable. I've needed some help getting in and out of the bed, and walking. Today I'm doing much better. Still some pain but I'm getting around on my own. I haven't been able to see my results yet. I have a binder on and compression foam under it. The foam has an adhesive back so it's stuck to my skin. I don't think I can take the foam off until my follow up. I have one drain put in as well. Im ready to see the results! I saw some ripples around were the incision was sewn up, do those go away usually?

I posted my 1 week post op photos today. I did see mild rippling more on the ends. Once wound heals, we can use Mederma to help out with flattening and lightening. Come see my picts. Look forward to seeing yours and hope you are pleased as I am.....
readyforchange 16 Mar 2011
Yey! You made it through surgery. Glad to hear from you. I just made my payment in full today. Going in on monday. So scared. I'm glad your feeling better. If you can, keep me posted. I will too after my surgery. Get plenty of rest.
ksharee 16 Mar 2011
Dont be scared. I seriously thought I was going to talk myself out of it. I kept asking the nurses questions like " do people every change their mind when they get here?" "is it normal to be this nervous?"..etc.lol. Then when I got in the operating room I was asking the anesthesiologist questions. I knew this was my last chance to back out...lol. Next thing I know, Im awake in recovery. You'll be fine. I was a complete baby when I went.
ksharee 16 Mar 2011
and I will definitely keep you posted.
readyforchange 19 Mar 2011
How are you doing? Can't wait to see your post op pics.
ksharee 22 Mar 2011
Hey, How did your tt go? How are you feeling? I slept the entire last week. I'm still swollen but feeling okay. I did muscle tightening as well, perhaps that has something to do with why Im so swollen. Cant wait to see your results! I'll get mine up maybe next week, once the swelling subsides more.
Debbie8634 20 Mar 2011
Hi Ksharee,
Im scheduled for a mini this Tues. Your stomach looks very similar to mine. Look forward to seeing your picts. Hope your recovery continues to go well. Any advice would be most helpful.

Also, did you opt to have muscle tightening for your lower? I'm on the fence about this. Leaning towards "no" since I dont believe the mild separarion is causing girth (for lack of a better word).
Best,

I hope your surgery went well, I would love to see your after pics. I am having a mini TT in September and have about the same amount of skin you did.
ksharee 26 Aug 2011
Yay! September is right around the corner! Are you excited? I posted some pics now. Hopefully this helps some. I apologize for the delay.
