WORTH IT$10,000
I am a private person but because I had a such a life changing experience I thought this is something important for me to share this for anyone is questioniong this procedure. I was 17 years old when I was introduced to hair extensions. First I started with the bonding glue and then went to sewn in extenion. However they were becoming very expensive and immpratical. So at the age of 25 years old I gave up the hair extenions and tried front lace wigs so I can cover up my very damaged hair that the extensions have done. However, wearing the front lace wig for four years later I ended up getting engaged and ended up ruining my front hairline. See my Finance asked me if I could have my natural hair at the wedding. I was terrified, "GIVE UP MY FAKE HAIR".... he and no one else had no clue the severity behind my hair loss now that the front lace wig had caused me. I had been secretly glueing my hairpiece since Ive started dateing him, I always slept in my hair piece; This was my darkest secret that I been avoiding. But with all the love and support I got from my family and finance, I got the courage to call Dr. Rassman. Best decision I had ever made. Dr. Rassman was the very first person who I showed what Ive been hiding for four years. My experience at the consultation was emotional but Dr Rassman and his team had ended making me excited to go through with this procedure. So 3 weeks later after the consultation I am in surgey. It was an 8 or 10 hours procedure it was painless and weirdly enjoyable experience. After the surgery it was the first time my finance and my family had seen what i was dealing with. It was very important for me to not wear a hairpiece while I recover. As uncomfortable dealing with myself looking at the mirror and feeling really unattractive for a month, I finally got through it and now being two months I love my results. My wedding date is set for next year and my finance and I are closer then ever. I love my natural hair now though it looks I am rocking a punk rock hair style which is so not me. I have been using bobby pins to attach a hair piece so I can I still feel comfortable to go out in public; but I did run it by Dr. Rassman to make sure it was okay.

Thank you for paying if forward and having the courage to share your personal story here on RealSelf. I've always played with the idea of having hair extensions, but was scared off by the high cost and maintenance and opted for the temporary clip-in type. I also wondered if hair extensions could cause damage, sorry to hear that this was the case for you.
You are very brave for sharing your insecurity about your hair with your fiance and family and having the surgery -- glad they are so supportive.
I can't wait to see your final results -- be sure to keep your photo updates coming. ☺
