2 weeks postop

So here's the good and the bad at this point...

I feel completely normal! I was out and about all weekend with my bbl pillow. No stiffness or soreness. I still have some numbness, but it doesn't bother me.

Dr. Dass said that at 2 weeks, 50% of the swelling would be gone. And he was right. Everyday I keep getting smaller and smaller. I now understand why some girls say that their butts are shrinking. My butt and hips dont look as big big as they did last week, but that's because they were so swollen. I'm now actually seeing what my true results will probably look like. Don't get me wrong, I still have a butt and I love it! But I'm starting to wish that it was just a tad bit bigger. Lol.

My butt is now starting to soften and it doesn't feel as tight as it did. I'm overall more comfortable. However, I have a few big hard spots in my abdomen. Dr.Dass said that's normal to have hard spots and I can start massaging them at 4 weeks post op. I read on here that the Hard spots are due to swelling in the muscles. I'm sure Dr. Dass is right and I have nothing to worry about.

That's all for now. I wish you all a speedy recovery!

Day 6 Post-Op, BBL Pillow Review

This update is a tad bit delayed, but Day 6 post-op was the best day! I caved in and ordered the BBL Pillow and it arrived early that morning. I was shocked that it got here so fast. I think it came in like 2 days! I delayed in ordering the bbl pillow because I read mixed reviews about and Dr. Dass recommended that I use a yoga mat. While the yoga mat worked, it was the most comfortable, it wasn't usable in public, and it could only be used on a firm surface. I want to say that the BBL pillow is perfect! It allows my butt to be lifted at the perfect height and I can use the pillow on a wide variety of surfaces. I went out this weekend and I used the BBL Pillow to drive with a pillow behind my back and it worked perfectly! I also went to 2 restaurants and it worked in a wooden chair and in a booth! This pillow is my new best friend.

I've also been struggling with sleeping on my stomach. I have literally tried everything! I had no idea that I had so many pillows of all shapes and sizes in my house until now! lol. So I ordered a foam wedge from Amazon and it works like magic! It perfectly cushions my stomach and elevated by head and neck while allowing my arms to be in multiple positions. I used it the night of Day 5 and I finally was able to sleep all night for the 1st time! I even use the wedge on my couch to lay on when I'm tired of sitting in a chair with my bbl pillow.

On Day 6, I went to see Dr. Dass for my post-op. I had three concerns: 1) I thought that I had a seroma on my right side, 2)my wounds weren't looking too great, and 3) my butt was sooo tight. Dr. Dass stated that I looked fantastic even with all the swelling. He said that I did not have a seroma on my right, it was just swelling. My two wounds in the front are still draining fluid, so he's happy that the fluid is coming out and not staying in. He recommended that I use Tefla pads to cover the wounds until they stop draining fluid and then I can put bandaids on them. And lastly he stated that my butt would be tight for a while and that is normal. He gave me some lipofoam to use on my abdomen and in the area right above by butt to help with the compression of the swelling. He also gave me my stage 2 garment and told me that in one week, I can start wearing the stage 2 garment and stop using the lipofoam and abdominal binder.

Overall, this recovery has been pretty good. Every single day is better than the last. I want the swelling to go away so bad though. I know that I'm only 1 week post-op, and I need to be patient, but I can't wait until the swelling is gone! The swelling makes me feel huge even though I look fabulous. lol.

Day 3 Post Op

So far so good! I have no pain since day, just a lot of achy discomfort in my abdomen area. And I've been surprisingly mobile for the past 2 days. The 1st day, I needed a lot of assistance but now I'm able to do everything for myself.

I noticed this morning that I have some groups of red bumps that have appeared at different places all over my body. They don't itch or hurt, so I'll keep an eye on them for now. If they don't go away, I'll call Dr. Dass tomorrow.

The hard part about this recovery is having to lie on my stomach. I didn't think it would be a big deal, but it's killer on my neck and shoulders. So I've been experimenting with different ways to sit/lay that keeps my butt elevated. So far the best one has been when I sit on the floor, elevated my legs on an ottoman with a yoga mat under my knees and my back against the bottom cushion of the couch. It sounds odd, but it feels like heaven! Lol
