I just had my surgery this past Tuesday. I had the back of my upper arms, upper/lower abs, flanks, and hips. As for pain. The most comfortable and non-painful area was my arms. It was a walk in the park. BUT - for the tummy, flanks, and all those areas. It was definitely something. Yes, it was painful. From a scale of 1 - 10, with 10 being the most painful I would say on average it was about a 6, but there are parts and areas that it's like a 10. The process goes like this. After you go through all the pre-marking and scrub down you're put on the operating table. The doc will numb the areas of entry, then will make cuts to. Next he will stick a long metal rod right underneath the skin. This will be a bit uncomfortable at first, but it's not that bad, because while he's doing that it's releasing a numbing solution. Before you know it you won't feel anything. Next he goes in with another long rod which is the vaser tool. This zaps the fat and turns it into liquid. He goes in and out over and over for about 8-10 mins. Then comes the third rod which will be the suction tool. This will suck all the fat out. Now, on my arms without a doubt I saw immediate changes. But not so much with my stomach area. I mean, I don't know if I need to let the swelling go down or what. But I'm not 4 days post-op I know that my stomach is smaller, but it's not what I expected. I expected a more smooth and flatter look, but it's not the case. I did have a "gut" before. It wasn't anything major, but it was a gut. I feel now I still have the gut so to speak, it's just smaller. My doctor told me that he removed 5 pounds of fat out of my belly, but I can't say that I can tell. If you have a "gut" I don't recommend getting vaser to try to shrink it. Please try to find another procedure, because I have researched high and low and many people are just not happy with this procedure. When I originally contacted this doctor I wanted "smart lipo." What I'm noticing is that doctors are now combining "smart lipo/vaser" together like they're the same treatments. Then when you get in there, they only want to use the Vaser. My doctor did use the smart lip laser towards the end of the procedure, because we were just not seeing any changes in my stomach. After seeing the laser, I understand why. The smart lipo laser is very small and I'm guessing it will take double the time zapping fat with it opposed to the vaser tool.

Thank you for your response!! You really have been through it, u poor thing! What size are you if u dont mind me asking? Im wondering if i should leave my stomach as ive heard this alot, i do know that it takes along time for the swelling to go down, maybe even a few months. Also ive heard alot of people find lumps which dont go down and there lop sided! But im worried if i have vaser on my hips and not on my stomach that i will look all stomach if you know what i mean, as my hips will be smaller??? Ive booked in a consultation a week on monday up in London so i will have a chat with the doctor to see what he says. I must admit i was very excited when i booked in the consultation 4 weeks ago, its been on my mind constantly, im constantly on the internet looking at photos, its been like an addiction but for the past few days now im having 2nd thoughts!! I just hope it doesnt go wrong and i look worse than when i went in! How much fat did your doctor remove? Did you see a difference straight away on your flanks and hips, or not? X

I'm about a 10. I should be about an 8, but due to my gut I can't button up my size 8's. The good news is that it seems my belly is getting a bit smaller now. But, again I still have a "gut" it's just a smaller versions. It was a total of 9 pounds removed all together. And he said 5 came from my belly. The rest was from everywhere else. I think 3 was from my arms. I had some pretty fat arms, lol. So 1.5 on each arms. Going into the procedure the doctor told me that I didn't have much fat in my flanks. I have a very small waist anyway. For the hips, yes I notice improvements. I think by him removing the fat right in the back part of my hips it gave my butt (or as you would say bum, lol) more definition. Also, I guess it's important that I mention that when I was a child I was hit by a car and had to have my spleen and part of my kidney removed. As a result I have a long scar going down the middle of my stomach. I don't know if this had any effect on my results of what. Good news is I feel great right now. I'm in no pain at all. My incisions have healed so I'm no longer draining blood. What you may want to do before you go into surgery is lay plastic over EVERYTHING, from the car you will be riding in and all throughout the path you will take back into your home. You will literally be draining EVERYWHERE. Mine lasted for about 3 days. The third day though, it was just one of my arms that drained all the other areas had closed up. You will also be very dizzy immediately after surgery, so don't try to move to fast or think to fast. The dizziness will last for about 24 hours.

Thank you for your reply! Ive got my consultation in a week so i will see what he thinks i should have done. I cant stop hearing that vaser on your stomach usually leaves you with bad lumps and bumps and girls on different forums have even said that there tummy now looks deformed! Im now very nervous about having my tummy done as ive heard this happens with the stomach alot and a number of people have told me. It doesnt happen as much with the hips. Im thinking of just having my hips dones as this is what bothers me and i may beable to loose my stomach with running!!!! Hopefully! Im glad your vaser has worked out well for you and it sounds though your happy which is brilliant! Thanks for the advice about the plastic sheets, i will buy some of those!! x

How did your consultation go? Have you decided what you will do? At the time that I wrote you, I hadn't noticed the "lumps." But I have now. My abs feels like I have bricks inside of there. My lower abs feel like there is just some big large lump of matter or object inside of me. And it's really tender. The good news is that I've researched extensively and I hear that this goes away after a few weeks to a few months. I can tell that is's subsiding slowly. And my stomach is getting flatter. I'm kind of excited, because the rate this is going I will have the stomach I've always wanted in no time. I've tried putting on jeans and it's really painful with this hardness in my stomach. I guess I need to wait until it goes down more. I also purchased a hand-held massager and have been using it too.

Hey ive booked in my vaser now!!!! Cant believe it!! How are you feeling now and looking? Im having vaser on my upper and lower abs and love handles! Im having a local anestetic - or how ever you spell it!!! Ive been told not to take arnica before the op, but i can take it afterwards, do you know why i shouldnt take it? x

Yes, I think you should be ready to get back to work by then. I was up moving around and cooking on my first day. I was a little dizzy, but by day 2 I felt really good. The only thing was the draining. The draining stopped by day 3. I love in the US so no I didn't get mine done in London. And, no my doctor didn't tell me to take anything but the antibotic and pain pill if necessary. I'm still not too happy about my results. The "hardness" is still there, but it's going away slowly and my stomach is still fat. I'm just so not happy with my results. I thought after the swelling had went down it would be flatter, but its not happening that way at all.

Hey there! Sorry for being such a late responder, but they don't notify me of replys often like they should. Girl, I'm so on the table about my stomach. My arms look great and I have no complaints there. My stomach does look better and good. And I honestly should not be complaining, because anything is better than what I had before. If not anything else, it did conture me where I look better. The hardness is still subsiding slowly. And you're right. I need to wait it out to see my final results. I have been working out, eating good, and taking alli FDA approved diet pills. I work my compression garment 1 week more than I was told too. But I took it off, because as I told you I had a surgical scar going down the middle of my stomach. The compression garment was pushing my belly inwards that was causing this indention. My stomach was looking like it was split in 2. But it's started filling back out now. Keep in touch.

Hi, I have had vaser hi def in Auckland , NZ. With dr mark grey. The surgery was on 15th March 2010. I am a guy, in quite a good shape, but had stubborn fats in places. I have fat removed from my tummy, chest, arms, flanks, lower back, and transfered the fat into my arms and chest for a more athletic look. Basically i went all out for the workz. I guess I can say, I am one of the good cases, Dr Mark Grey had identified your body structure, and as he says " its about removing fat on your body to make a more better look" Ideally, ones results will depend on the surgeon and whether u eat right and keep the compression garmet on at all times until they say to take it off. It is now 6 weeks after my proceedure and everyday I have subtle improvements as skin retraction is the last and slowest step - hence why they say it takes like 3+ months for final results to be evident. But then again, I paid alot of money for Dr Mark Grey, a specialist in his own nature, $29000 NZ$ all up, incl medicines, fees, garmets, ... total costs related to the whole transformation. Goodluck, its something very good, if you do your homework.
