Not Worth It
Spent: $6,300 in Atlanta/Marietta, GA

BEWARE

!  I was very disappointed in what was advertised versus what I wound up with. I wanted to freshen my eyes and they talked me into a mini-lift. (The consultant indicated that I could save this much $$$1200 if I signed today.)

Both eyelids were cut differently, one was not even in the crease of my eye. One eye was cut like a cat eye with a curve on the end and the other eye was cut straight across and a pocket of fat was left to hang over the straight cut. My EARS GREW much longer and hurt constantly. The pain was intolerable. My face stayed swollen black and blue for 3 weeks. The pain, the crunching noises, the smell, there is no way to describe how horrible the experience is. When I complained about my eyes after they started to heal up and you could really tell how different they were, LSL kicked me to the curb. Their suggestion was for me to have a brow lift... that would have only made the scar on the eye that was not in the crease look even worse. The surgeon did not like being questioned on my visit to remove my sutures (which they left 1/2 of them in) about why he cut me twice behind one ear. He told me to grow up.

In the beginning I only wanted them to fix my one eye that was cut straight across & remove the fat bag. I refused to see Dr. KK after his hateful 1st visit antics. I had no idea that he did not work for LSL and that he was/is a freelance surgeon and he has his own practice closer to me than LSL in Marietta. (He also offers his own version of the “One Hour Lunch Hour Lift”) I returned to the home office thinking I signed up for the surgery with them, they would be the ones that would help me. They refused to do what I ask for. So, I asked for my money back to have my eye fixed by another doctor, again, excuse, excuse and more excuses. They kept having me drive over 100 miles to see them (5 times for follow ups + 2 original visits) to see if there was any improvement and they never took any notes nor pictures until I showed up with my husband. When my husband was with me, the General Mgr. joined in along with Dr. W. I asked for my after pictures to be taken at this time and they were.

My ears continued to hurt like a toothache. The skin felt like it was wadded up behind my ears and my lobes were stitched to my face. I could not stand to wear earrings at all for the first 5 months. I could not sleep on my side, it hurt to talk on the phone, It hurt to wear my glasses for any length of time. I just cannot explain the kind of pain, searing, stabbing and burning all at the same time. I searched for other surgeons to redo the work. Most of the doctors just shook their heads (like you big dummy). How was I to know????

I picked the LSL office due to the advertising and what the brochure promised. The before and after pictures that are shown and the endorsement of ABC, CBS, NBC and others. The endorsement of Oprah and others + Dr. K, the founder and all his talk of how safe the procedure is. The doctors credentials looked good (I did look him up on the net), the advertising was excellent but as far as the procedure, it was pure hell. Dealing with the front office and the home office was hell after the surgery. I had to have the surgery REDONE completely by a competent surgeon. I could not believe the difference! I woke up, my eyes looked almost completely normal on the 3rd day and they look the same. My ears no longer hurt and they are not long anymore and they look like they use to.

I think if I had not found this new surgeon I would have sunk into a deeper depression and no telling what I would have done to myself. I just can't believe that a company that is as large and as well know as LSL can get away with this kind of treatment of their clients. This just can't go on. I have read real horror stories and have heard even more from women too embarrassed to post. It seems like they can do whatever they want and there is no way to stop them and everybody is afraid of them. One woman told me that she was threatened with a lawsuit if she even mentioned the Dr.s name.

If I can stop one woman or man from going through what I went through, I figure that I have done them a big favor. The big selling point of not being put to sleep and that makes it so much safer is complete BS. I will never forget the stench of my own skin burning and hearing the surgeon saying over and over he was late for another appointment. My one hr. appt. took over 3 and 1/2 hours.

I FEEL like I will forever be scarred by what LSL did to me and if they offered to redo everything for free in 10 years and give me a million dollars too, I would leave the country on that day!

1-19-09 I would also like to add as of the CBS TV 46 interview that aired recently, they too are being sued by LSL. (As of right now, the videos are still up, email me if you need the link) They are saying that CBS is harming their good name they have worked so hard to build. Well, LSL, did you ever stop to think HOW HARD all of us had to work to save the money to have your lift done. And the main thing is that everything that you say in your commercial is untrue for most of us. Your lift is not CHEAP by any means. And the help I was suppose to get from the LSL founder personally, well, that did not happen either. He wound up asking me a whole lot of questions about things that were not related to my Lift at all. I will let you know more about this situation and exactly what he was asking me about at the appropriate time.

My Doctor:

My rating:
I should never had this procedure. I looked better before he touched me and I was certainly pain free, I could wear earrings before the procedure and have not been able to do so since except for very short periods of time. But I will once my ears heal from my new doc. I have also noticed that on my smile lines, I now have more that I did before the lift. Not only that, whatever they do also caused larger bags under my eyes. I do not recognize the person in the mirror looking back at me!

Yes it has been a year since i made that huge mistake and I still look horrible. My eyes are different and the scars are so wide and bid I will never be able to pull my hair up again. My ears were sewn back flat and long and wrong. Do NOT do this and it is a scam. I am saving my money to see a professional to see if it can be fixed. The men at work call me "scar face" but it is not funny. It has depressed me and I hate that I ever fell for it.

Chrystal, I am still waiting to see how things turn out. I had chin lipo and tightening done at the Atlanta office Dec. 8. A month later, the lipo incision is still a bit pink, which is to be expected. My issue is the thickening along the muscles in my neck, and the spots of wrinkly skin on each side. I am worried that this is what I'll end up with. I'm calling the LSL office Monday to see if the dr. will talk with me. She wanted me to see me in 4-6 weeks post-op, but I haven't scheduled the appt yet because I live 2 1/2 hours from Atlanta. It worries me to think that this is the way it's going to look from now on. I spend half my time now wondering why I put myself through all of this. Everybody at the office was wonderful. But the shots were awful -- that, and the throwing up on the way home and the following morning. What was your experience like?

MI MI, you cannot beat yourself up over this, you can talk with others who like you wound up in the same situation. You have to network with the rest of us here on realself and tell about your situation and let others know that this has happened to you and IS GOING TO HAPPEN to other women if we don't stand up to this company and tell our stories. Please contact me thru realself by clicking on my name and email me. I would be happy to talk with you. Best, chrystal.

Well, my results were good from the ATL LL facility. I won't say that you must have had a bad DR. that did yours. Dr. F was mine. However, looking at your photos it is obvious that you are a heavy smoker and sun worshiper. So you started with the odds against success. They probably should have never made you a good candidate for the LSL. I mean be honest..you can't shine a turd and that's just a fact. If you smoke, suntan to excess and are fat this procedure is not for you. BTW my earlobes were stitched to my face as well and I'm really glad b/c the looked old too. Now my ears looks normal. Its been 7 months since my LSL and I still do have some phantom tingles along my jawline, but even the high surgeons will tell you 9-12 mos for full effect of the surgery. They just should have never approved you for the light job..you should have gone to the regular facelift IMO.

Tina, For me, I kept massaging the incisions, especially behind my earlobes and worked out all of the kinks under my skin. Keeps the blood flow in the area to promote healing. I hope this helps.

MiMi, don't let those guys at work get to you. It is hard enough to get through life with the everyday trials and tribulations. Just stand hard and fast and know that we are all behind you. You just need to makeup your mind that you are going to get your face fixed and then do like me, keep searching until you find a kind surgeon that is smart enough to fix what has been done to you. I am so very sorry and I hope that time will help heal your scars. Try the vitamin E creme and the scarderma. And remember, stay out of the sun, it only enhances the scars. Write to me anytime. Best, Chrystal.

To Susan Wells: thank you for your most astute observation. My pictures speak for themselves, I looked better before than after and I know that I did not perform the surgery so it must have been the knife? Why you must be a mind reader. I do not smoke and Yes I have been in the sun but not to worship. As far as a TURD, I don't see your pictures anywhere. If you like your ears longer than before and stitched to your face good for you. I didn't, it does not look natural and since you know everything else, you must know they call that pixietosis. A dead giveaway for this procedure. Since you are so happy with your lift why don't you share your photos with the rest of us. We would love to see the results. Best, Chrystal.

Susan, Given how great your procedure was as posted in this forum, why do you say so many negative things about your expeerience and the doctors and the procedure in the clinic, in your review under "Little pain for sooo much gain". Everyone that reads your comments in this post by Chrystal should go to this post "Little pain for sooo much gain", and read what you put there...which one of your experiences is it you really believe, or do you even know at this point. Seems like you went on here just to harass Chrystal. We are waiting for you to post before and after pictures so we can find out!

Susan WElls...I just read what you wrote to Chrystal....and you are just plain evil.
Chrystal Eckes (621 posts) 16 Jun 2009
Thanks McKen, Susan Wells I do believe is an "OTHER". You know a poser, imposter, a LSL looser with nothing better to do than harass us who are trying to warn people not to do this to their selves. Anyway, If this is all they have to do here on earth, wonder what they will do in Hell???? You see, if I had good results, not only would I register, use my real name, post my doctors name and put up all kinds of pictures, I would want everyone to know who I went to and what center to use so as to repay the surgeon for the same good works in "kind". Know what I mean. Almost all the people that have good result do not post their real names, hardly ever a picture and they do not register so you can't email them privately. So there. They seemed to quit sending evil emails to me at home when I started pasting the emails back on their page and replying to them on their home page. They did not like that at ALL! Oh me.

I am sheduled for 7a tomorrow, is it really that painful. I can't stand lots of pain @ all. Now i am only thinking about the doing the chin, what do you think?
McKen58 (164 posts) 23 Jun 2009
Don't let them fool you into thinking this is easy and pain free. If you had it done, you know already what I am talking about. They lead you to think there are two "small incisions." I have Dr. Kent's own words quoting that. It is anything BUT! They cut you from the front of your ears to the back. They cut the earlobes off your face and sew them back on. All done while wide awake.
Chrystal Eckes (621 posts) 10 Jul 2009
LJ in Atl, did you get your 7 am LSL? Just wondering if you did how it went? Let us hear from you.

It has been 3 years and 6 months since I had my "procedure" and I am still experiencing difficulties. Not only do I look worse than I did before the surgery, but I still have stitches popping out of my skin around my ears. It has been hell. I'm hoping that there will be a class action suit against them and would love to get our money back, though we can never get back our dignity.
amme (1 post) 19 Nov 2009
Thank you! I was thinking very seriously about getting this procedure done on me but after reading your letter I am now looking into getting a facelift. Can you Email me the link of the interview to me please. Hope you're feeling better now. Also anybody know of a good plastic surgeon in the DFW area please let me know

Thank you-- I wont go there--I just wish they would shut them all down if this is happening everywhere

LSL was fined a huge amount for having their employees join message boards and post messages that claim positive results. These employees were also told to defame posters with complaints about LSL. I just thought others would like to know what kind of company they are and what to look out for.
devonbrown (1 post) 1 Jan 2011
Thank you and all the other women who have posted. I was considering this proceedure but after reading these posts, NO WAY.. you are right. Someone should contact a lawyer and shut these people down.
rensun (2 posts) 17 Jan 2011
I WAS seriouly looking into this!
After reading your story and others, there's NO way I'll do this.
Sorry for your problems, but thanks for letting the rest of us know!

My experience was very similar to yours. I had little ears and earlobes prior to the lift. They are now HUGE with very LOOOONG earlobes. My ears were literally pulled down beyond my jawline. The pain was almost unbearable. I have heavy scarring behind one ear and much less on the other. Loose skin in the front of my neck was left as well which seems bizarre since he pulled my neck so tight I now have a nice big adams apple. Did I say I'm a woman??? When I confronted "Dr. A" about this, he said he thought my ears would separate. He then suggested that I get laser treatment for my neck. Mind you, this was two weeks after surgery. I could not believe he could blow me off so easily. When I told him just how upset I felt, he left the room without saying another word. It's been almost 4 years since my surgery and I look worse with each passing year. Please, please, please, anyone out there who is considering this surgery, do your homework. I wish I had.

I disagree with your comment. I DO NOT SMOKE, I DO NOT SUNWORSHIP, AND I WEAR A SIZE 6 I AM VERY THIN. So..... what is the excuse now???? I am another person that got the same Dr. and I have the same unhappy experience... so what is your lousy excuse now huh?????

If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is! Chrystal Eckes, thanks for your post. I was thinking about having this procedure done. I'm glad I ran across this site! I definitely won't touch it now! I seriously hope you can come to a satisfactory, pain free place in life. Also hope someone will start a class action suit and shut these hack-jobbers down! There is always going to be a Susan Wells anywhere you go. Best to ignore. There are enough posters here who got the hack job to overcome her know-it-all personality. Good luck, Lady!
