I am so ready for this surgery. I am 18 and wear a 32H bra and want this surgery more than anything. My summer roommate got one two years ago and since then I have been considering it, but just recently I have the motivation to get the ball rolling. At my normal physical in late May, I mentioned to my doctor that I was considering getting a reduction and she completely agreed that it would be a good option for me and gave me a referral.
A little background info about me which is probably similar to most of yours, I have always been a spectacle throughout school. I have always had bigger boobs than my sister who is over two years older than me. I was a 34D by 8th grade and continued to grow! I was a 32DDD by senior year and now one year after high school I am a 32H, wonderful right? I am also 5'3" and 150lbs with a very athletic build, I'm about a size 6, would be a comfortable 6 if it wasn't for my boobs! I have an amazingly wonderful boyfriend who is entirely supportive of my surgery and knows how much happier I will be when I get it. I'm sure I dont have to remind you all but I am sick and tired of being treated like a [RS bleep] or being approached like i'm easy by men. I also have a problem with other women treating me differently because of it, like it's my choice to have huge boobs. I am tired of being limited to the cloths I can wear not only because it wouldn't fit my boobs, or the fact that I can't wear strapless tops or dresses, but because I look like a total [RS bleep] in anything fun and summery!!! Also shopping for bathingsuits is depressing, so many women take for granted the ability to go pick out a bathingsuit and not look X-rated in it. Anyway you all know how it is, I'm sure.
I had my first consultation monday, July 14th and it went incredibly well! We discussed what kind of incisions they would do and what size I wanted, which is a C cup!

UPDATED FROM LauraaaRS
massive update!
LauraaaRSMarch 21, 2015
So fast forward, I got a BR at duke medical center in Durham and had an amazing surgeon who is known as "the boob guy". It couldn't have gone better, I barely bled during surgery, no drains needed, feeling great 4 days post op! I went a little too far last night and went out to dinner and I was exhausted and sore by the end. Take it easy everyone!!

stitches out tomorrow!

I know many of you have the dissolvable stitches, I do not and I'm getting them all tomorrow and am so excited!! I have had dressings on over my stitches for two weeks now, yes that means no showering, it's awful. But tomorrow I can take a shower!!! I was told to wear my surgical bra 24/7 these two weeks but I have gotten a wonderful sports bra from Tj Maxx on Sunday so this is day two of wearing it. I think 12 hours is to long to wear it though and usually switch back to the surgical bra when I get home from work. I'll attach a photo of the bra. I've already gotten half the stitches surrounding my nipples removed. Virtually painless! I can't wait to have no more tape and gauze on my chest anymore!!!
