After almost a year of checking out this site I finally decided to join. Reading everyone's experience and seeing their results really helped me with my decision. I have three children ages 14, 3 and 2 and all were natural births. It wasn't till my two little ones that I saw a dramatic change in my body. I guess the fact that they are a year and a week apart didn't give my body the chance to bounce back. After my son I noticed my belly was still round and people would consistently ask how far along I was. Even after trying so hard to eat right and work out my belly would not go away. So I took it upon myself to search what would cause my belly to still be round. Finally I found out that my condition was pretty common and hand a name, Diastasis. Personally I feel that there should be more awareness about it. Had I not research I probably would have never found out about it nor would have known that there was a solution to my problem. This is what brought me to this site. Reading about other women who had the same exact situation really made me feel like I wasn't alone.
It also helped me to find the PS that I felt was compatible with my needs. Going to see the PS in person I realized I had made the right decision. SO this past Tuesday March 19th I finally went in for my Tummy Tuck. I was extremely nervous going in but once I awoke from the surgery I knew I had made the right decision. The best feeling was when I was getting ready to leave and looked down. It wasn't till that very moment that I realized that I no longer had a round pregnancy belly appearance. I can't even express the happiness I felt knowing that I would no longer have to worry about finding something to wear or having a total stranger ask me if I knew what I was having. The next morning I went in to see the doctor. Before they removed the binder the doctor said that my muscle separation was the worst he and his assistant have ever seen. He then proceeded to remove the binder and for the first time I really got to see what my new stomach looked like. It truly was a life changing moment for me. So now I sit here 3 days post op sharing part my story with everyone. I hope that somehow sharing this will help someone else make the right decision as so many of you have done for me.
