I had my upper, lower abs and hips done on June 1, 2012. I am almost two weeks out. I did not think the procedure hurt, except when he got close to the areas that weren't numbed. All and all the day was fine. I wasn't a fan of the leaking and changing my dressing, but that only lasted 1 day. I was up and moving the following morning and could have probably gone to work on day 3, but wasn't scheduled so I took it easy 4 days. I must say my take it easy is running the house with 3 active kids (soccer and karate the next morning) so not much down time. I had 3 liters or 3000cc taken out (mix of fat and fluid). When I started I was 5'1 and 155 pounds worked out 3-4 times a week and am in my mid 40's. I just love to eat. As one friend says we work out to eat-LOL. I've had a muffin top for as long as I can remember. All the woman in my family carry their weight there. After the procedure, I noticed my tummy was flatter-and wider. I did not see any lose in inches until day 10 and that has only been 1 inch I have A LOT of hard lumps and bumps. They do not feel good and although I can resume full exercise-it is not comfortable to run-yet. The lumps jiggle around. I went for my follow up and was told my lumps are normal and not excessive and they should start to go away or reduce in 2 to 4 weeks, but no final results for 3-6 months. I was told to use a rolling pin in a downward motion to help break up this free floating tissue. Now that causes a bit of discomfort and tenderness. I no longer have to wear the doctor issued compression and am on to Spanx, which I so much love better. I lost my before photos, so I have to wait for the doctor to give me theres when they are uploaded on to a CD for me at my 3 month check up.
I love the nurses and doctors. I researched him. He is a very experienced plastic surgeon. They were friendly and listen to me concerns. They send daily emails the first 3 days which were helpful reminders of what I might be feeling and things to do to help in the recovery. I would not go through with this again and don't no how people do back to back smart lypo surgeries. I do not regret my decision and continue to hope for better results. I remind myself I am only 2 weeks out-it will keep getting better. Today was the first day I put on my size 8 shorts in a few years. They are a little snug, but my belly isn't sticking out which is nice:) Since I don't have before photos, it seems funny to upload after photos, but I can.
