I spent $650 in NYC to have Juvederm (.8 cc)...

I spent $650 in NYC to have Juvederm (.8 cc) injected into both my upper and lower lips. I advise you to have the procedure performed when you have at least 2-3 days to recover. I did mine on a Friday evening and by Sunday, I was pleased with the appearance. The doctor injected me with Lidocaine (numbing medication), but to be honest, it didn't relieve the discomfort as much as he promised it would. I still felt the injections in both lips and the Lidocaine injections were just as uncomfortable as the Juvederm. While I am very timid around needles, what hurt more was the substance being injected itself. It burns a little while its being injected. At first, I was concerned because my lips were swollen from the Lidocaine injections so I couldn't understand how he would be able to properly assess the appropriate amount of Juvederm to use and the appropriate placement. Ultimately, he used .5 cc in both lips and used the balance in my nasal labial folds. I walked home self-consciously avoiding eye contact with as many people as possible. Not only were my lips swollen like a duck, but the pricks from the needles were still red and bleeding. That evening, I regretted my decision and felt buyer's remorse. I immediately turned to the internet to study more research and found this website, which alleviated some of my concerns. That evening, I knew that my lips would remain swollen for at least 24 hours so I was anxious to see the results the next day. By Saturday late morning, the swelling had subsided and I was more pleased with the physical appearance. My main concern though is not just the appearance, but how kissable my lips will feel to my boyfriend, who hasn't seen me in over a month. I don't want him to know what I've done because I think it's best to keep these beauty secrets to ourselves. So, how do they feel? Well, at first they felt really tight and uncomfortably firm. It was difficult to rub your lips together. So on Saturday morning, I molded the substance by flattening it out and redistributing it more evenly across the entire lip. I don't know whether that was detrimental or not but at least it seemed more evenly distributed. It's Sunday morning and I can say that they look more natural, but they have diminished in size. I can still feel the substance but it's not as firm as it was yesterday. My lips feel more supple and pouty but now I wish they had more volume. I still have visible prick marks and a little bruising on the top lip, but I'm sure that will subside by tomorrow. Overall, I don't regret my decision to have my lips augmented, but perhaps next time I will forgo the Lidocaine.
