This is a sequel to my earlier review "The Journey2005 -2015: Zygoma Cheekbone Reduction, Genioplasty & Rhinoplasty and More to Come"

Months passed after my Zygoma/ cheek reduction, and after all the swelling and tissue finally settled to its proper, there are some very faint areas that needs further refinement done. I mean you're talking about cutting and removing about 7mm of the zygoma arch off each side, and some burring to the anterior. This is a huge procedure and touch up results are common. or expected.

Dr Charan recommended fat transfer and so I signed up for it. But sadly the fat graft didnt stay too long and I was looking for another option. A more permanent one.

Researching and a lot of asking made me decide to go with Bio Alcamid. Knowing Dr Charan's stance on no to all things "non- natural materials". He actually warned me not to do "artificial fillers". "Whats worst you are doing Bio Alcamid, a so called permanent one. Do you know how serious it CAN become?" he said. I did tons of research, asking around people who had done it and still decided to go ahead

I didnt listen to Dr Charan and soon found yet again a doctor with astounding CV to boast for Bio ALcamid. He is in Malaysia Johor Bahru. Also President of Malaysian Board of PS. Not far from where I am at that time while I was still living in Singapore. Its probably like a couple hour car ride from US borders into Mexico. He is Dr Angamuthu R.

So off I went to his office. To be honest the area is rather run down, the clinic is clean but a lil less modern or posh i would say.

During consultation I explained my purpose of wanting Bio Alcamid. And to my surprise he personally knew Dr Charan and was in same training year as him. I asked alotof question. Basically asking the "holocaust" of Bio Alcamid side effects. I was scared. Dr Angamuthu did say all semi perm or permanant fillers come with higher risks. He is also very trained with thick filler injections. At one point he asked if I wanted something more temporary like Restylane. The stubborn me won. "No. Permanent filler Bio Alcamid". What he said next made me felt relieved. "If you dont like the Bio Alcamid results, or down the years infections or it starts to give you trouble, come back to me. I have all the experience to do it. "KACHING" Paid and laid on chair ready for the filler. And his price is very reasonable!

Skin and tissue characteristics differ from patient to patient. I think I am that sort that can be easily over volumized or overfilled if not controlled properly.

He makes sure Im getting the authentic stuff. Showed me the packaging, the hallmark and some stuff that was authorized and cleared by the Malaysian Medical council (i think or whatever its named). The procedure was painful. And with quite a bit of blood to clean off. He have me some medications (Probably anti-biotics or pain relieve i cant recall). And sternly said "no sleeping or pressing to the injected sites"

That was in late 2007.

Within a week or so the results were amazing. It was extremely natural. I suffered no side effects whatsoever.

4 years later I thought i needed refilling. Seems like alot got absorbed or disappeared. Same thing as was the first. Painful injection. But this time I had restalyn to my upper eyes (above the eyelid, i have rather sunken eyes and I hated it) and to my tear throughs. Swelling gone in a week or so. No bruising. And beautiful results again. What Im UTTERLY surprised is that the Restalyn done to my upper eyelids to address sunken, hollowish looking eyes and tear through, the result lasted very long. I thought Restalyn only lasted 6 months to a year? Either way This Dr is a pro in injectables.

Come 2014 and pass 40 my face started to show signs of aging. cheeks gone south, nasolabial & marionette lines. BUT WAIT. The restylane done to my upper eyes shows very very slight diminishingas well and is starting to look sunken again. So I called Dr Angu but sadly he said he no longer does Bio ALcamid. "Too many side effects" he cited. And recommended Juverderm to me.

That made me think. I dont want something temporary. I dont wanna keep going back to be injected. And soon got sucked into the idea of flat malar or customized implant.

So overall Im happy with Bio Alcamid. It is really "permanent". But I enjoyed its results for many years with no problem whatsoever. Im a sun sport person and recall a fall i had and bumped right onto the injected site. the cheek was bruising bad and I was worried the cheeks might be broken or Bio Alcamid inflammed (can this happen and in turn become infected?)

A check and some Xray shows nothing serious.

My next review will be my cheek augmentation cone in Nov 2014 and scheduled SMAS midface lift in late march 2015
