In August 2012, after living most of my life as the "fat kid" and with my weight being a hindering factor at my job, I had gastric bypass surgery (Dr. Christopher Hart at Atlanta Bariatrics). At my heaviest, I weighed more than 360lbs. (I do not know how much more... I was afraid to look at the scale).

At my 2 year checkup with Dr. Hart, he recommended Dr. Patricia Yugueros at Luna Plastic Surgery to me for when I decided to have the cosmetic procedures for skin removal, etc.
I set an appointment in late October 2014 with Dr. Yugueros where she was able to explain all of the procedures that she thought I would need based on my surgical history, body type, etc.

After consulting with my employer, I was able to schedule my surgery in late November 2014.
Dr. Yugueros removed 11-12lbs of loose/excess skin and tissue as she performed panniculectomy, excision of tissue from gynecomastia and performing liposuction and tightening my abdomen and flanks.
From 360lbs+ 28 months ago, I weigh just over 190lbs and less than I did in 9th grade (that was in the early 1980s!).
More importantly, I also look "proportional" and feeling even better about myself!
As I am only about 6 weeks out of the surgery, I still have some pain but it is going away and I look forward to being even more active soon!

I will post a better photo when I get one.

Dr. Yugueros is a very pleasant, very professional physician. She has wonderful people skills in addition to her excellent surgical skills. (Unfortunately not all physicians have those all important people skills but Dr. Yugueros does!) I liked her on the very first encounter where she took all the time needed to answer my questions and help me understand all of the processes and procedures so that I could reach a decision on my direction of treatment. During office followup visits, she answers questions and spends time going over any additional procedures for my healing process. In addition to Dr. Yugueros is her fantastic staff that went over and beyond to help me with filing work and insurance papers, scheduling appointments and just being absolutely warm and inviting. Wanda, Maria, Wendy and Tina are awesome! As the nurse, Wanda is the member of the staff I interact with most. She knows and does her work well, but is also a lot of fun and really says some funny stuff. She makes the office visits a joy! Dr. Yugueros provides her patients with her cell number if needed, but I have been fortunate to not need to call her. My healing process is going well. While I have not had to contact Dr. Yugueros, I have had to contact Wendy regarding some paperwork I needed for my employer and she always responds quickly to help me. As for waiting times, I have NEVER been to an office where I could almost immediately walk into the examining room. Excellent! Because my surgery was a "combo" (both non-insurance cosmetic and insurance covered procedures) the billing is a little weird. That is not the fault of Luna but rather the strange and complex nature of the medical billing and medical insurance industry as a whole. As a man, I was not exactly sure what to expect going to a plastic surgery office (picturing some of the celebrities and their facelifts, etc), but any apprehension I had was quickly gone with my interactions with everyone at Luna.
