I just had a mold made of my teeth and my dentist...

I just had a mold made of my teeth and my dentist sent it off to the Clear Correct lab. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my starter set and have been reading about everyone else's experience with them so I can be better prepared. I'm a little nervous at how difficult some say it is to remove them sometimes.... I will happily post my own experience once my journey begins. I had metal braces when I was a teenager but allowed my teeth to get crooked again when my retainer broke. I don't smile as much as I would like because I am self conscious of my teeth. I avoid photos as well. If this works it will be life changing for me. I am a children's book author. I'm 47, married, and a mom of four. I look forward to sharing with everyone!

Recieved my first set!

Well it took over a month to get them but they are finally here! I picked them up last night from my wonderful dentist who showed me what my smile will look like at the end, which provided the motivation I needed because my excitement level about this was much higher a month ago. My dentist showed me how to take them off and put them on, I had a little trouble at first but then got the gist of it. I wore them home but decided to officially begin my 22-hour commitment the next morning. When I tried to take them off last night, I had a problem. I couldn't find the sweet spot to pull with the stick like thing they give you and gouged myself in the gums causing the clear corrects to fill up with blood - gross and disturbing. But my own clumsy fault. I finally got them off after calmly convincing myself I would not pull out all my teeth with it. This morning I was looking forward to putting them in and getting started. I have been wearing them all morning at work and they feel fine, but a little weird. Ok, a lot weird, but they don't hurt (except for where I impaled myself last night) ...but I can see this becoming the new normal in a few days time. It will just take some getting used to. I took them out at work to have some coffee and before I knew it 30 minutes had passed by - so I have to be careful to observe the 22 hour rule. I'll take some pics soon. :)
