Do NOT Rush into ANY Kind of Surgery Without Researching, Researching, Researching! -

The reason I wanted a brow lift was to eleviate...

$6,500

The reason I wanted a brow lift was to eleviate the sad and angry look I carried around. However, I was left with brows that were elevated too high leaving me with a startled "operated" look. Also, the furrow that I once hated has now been replaced with "indentation" marks. One more thing...I was told by my surgeon that I would only have three small incisions on top of my head and I would not lose any hair. When I awakened (again...I should have done my research) I learned that he had placed a "drain" in the area as well. It was where the drain had been placed that left me with a bald place the size of a dime. When I complained about it, he casually said, "oh, in time, hair will cover that up." Wrong...it never did.

Now, that I'm 15 years older and have lost fat around the eye orbit, both through the normal process of aging and from previous surgery; the fact that my brows are elevated ABOVE the normal positioning of the orbital area only makes my eyes look even more skeletal!

I'm sorry you were never that thrilled with your results. Very disappointing I'm sure. Will you be looking to get a revision or are you just going to live with what you have now?

I have discussed, with an oculoplastic surgeon, the possibility of adding fat just under the brow area, as well as repair the accompanying ectropion, in hopes of making the skeletal appearance of the eye less apparent. As I previously stated, I am not prepared to attempt a brow reversal.
Angiemcc: I am following the comments herein (wish I had known about this site long ago), listening to their experiences - both successes and failures. If I can find a few who have had a reverse brow lift - without losing additional hair - AND, that it was a success, I hope they will share with me, their doctors name. Then, I'll decide. Right now I am trying to recover from an ectropion repair after experiencing a bad eye surgery along with laser resurfacing that left me with round, pulled-down bottom lids that were constantly dry and would not close properly. I am only 4 weeks post-op, but the eyelid, at present, looks worse than it did before. There is much white showing and both eyes are pulled down at the corner. I know you didn't ask for my life history - but, trust me, this is the short version. Thank you for asking.
Faith: See my reply above....I thought I was replying to Angiemcc. Thank YOU for asking.
I too wish that I would have found RealSelf before having any plastic surgery done.  I'm certain things would have turned out differently.  I know how heart-breaking bad plastic surgery can be and I'm very sorry for what you're going through. One of the things I hate about my browlift is that it made my forehead bigger.  I had no idea this was possible and was puzzled as to why I looked like a different person in my photos, even from a distance.  Then I started comparing my before and after photos and yep...bigger forehead.
I'm so sorry to hear what happened to you and that it hasn't gotten any better in 15 years.  You're not the only one who should have done more research beforehand. :(  Best wishes.
Oh, yeah...I forgot to complain about that one. I already had a rather high forehead so you can imagine how I look. I feel so stupid. Thank you for sharing your story. Have you ever considered having a reverse brow-lift? I have had doctors recommend that to me but I'm so afraid of losing more hair. Did your doctor put a "drain" in the top of your head? Mine did and it left a round hole - bald spot - the size of a dime. I then had to have a different doctor try to cut that area out and pull the scalp together to try and hide that scar. It has been a nightmare.
A nightmare is a very good word to describe this.  Again, so sorry for what you've been through.  I did not have a drain but he placed that hardware underneath my skin in various places and it freaked me out.  I had no idea he was doing that or just how invasive this surgery was.  It has been 19 months for me and I still get tinges of pain here and there and a lot of headaches.  I tried to back out of this surgery when reading the consent form and they told me the form was out of date and to discuss with the doctor.  The doctor told me he would only use 2 stitches, one above eye brow in the hairline.  What a joke....I had several big incisions with lots of stitches.  So I feel REALLY stupid and naive.  It was never about my best interest ..only my money.  I went back and spoke with the other surgeon and asked about a reversal surgery for this and I think he told me to wait and give it time.  I'l never go back there again...I'd be a fool to ever trust them again.
I'm getting a reverse endo brow lift next week. 5 tortuous years hopefully will be gone.... but I'm Terrified! Wish me luck please I could use some. We all can for that matter.
Becky, can you please DM me the name of the surgeon who did the bad brow lift and also who did your eyes?? Was it the same Doctor?? We're they in Huntsville?? I'm trying to do my research and I have DM'd you twice to ask if you will share doc's name?? I have consulted with 2 doc's in Huntsville and I really would like to know who did this to you. I hope things are getting better for you :)
